Always nice to see a promotion story.

What will be more interesting is that his counterpart on Tristan da Cunha, one Inspector Conrad Glass, is due to retire fairly soon and neither of the rest of the police force want the job (they are both Specials - unpaid volunteers).

That and they need to improve the structure of the police station a bit as well (the cell (singular) door was made of plywood and wouldn't have resisted a determined termite, let alone a determined criminal). It's just as well that the last time that they had to use it was in the 70s.

Sounds like a good man for the job, and well-supported too.

    Well done Len!

There's only 3000 on that Island, so how many cops do you need?
Where do you lock the criminals up? There's no where to run too, as the place is one big prison.
Come to think of it the Los Malvinas is very similar to Alcatraz.
Maybe he can take on the rampant interbreeding problem they have there.
3000 people, but only 7 different names in the phone book :(

Given the long tradition of Argentine criminality in the British South Atlantic, it's hardly surprising we'd want to keep a cop or two around. What with all these episodes of piracy, rape, murder, mutiny, invasion, aeroplane hijackings, burglary, attempted usurpation and whatever going on whenever anyone's back was turned.

Klington- so sorry to hear you cannot count beyond 7 or have you confused Falklands with Pitcairn,s phone book? I made it 16 different surnames just under A.
Even a thicko can work out that a national police force needs more than 2! Like min of 2 on duty at any one time, plus 2 more on call if required and that is just nights and weekends. So that is a min of 6-8 for a start, add in holidays etc and 8-10 more likely. Then add in normal daytime staff for desk service, additional staff to be present at airport during passenger arrivals/departures,case interviews and investigations etc, to run an efficient reliable 24 hour service 365 days.
Yes we have a lot on a per head of population basis - but double the population say and we would probably only need 2 more on the books .

I think this numpty is mistaking the Falklands with Tristan da Cunha. To be honest what else do we expect from these deluded Malvinistas?

Are you going to have the intellectual honesty to admit you were wrong?

Has anyone else noticed that when one troll dies another soon pops up?

Often with the same verbiage and weak insults.

“mr nutrag” - what the hell does that mean?

It wasn't a typo at all - presumably you actually believed the Falkland Islanders only shared 7 names as part of your suggestion of interbreeding.

“So where is the Falkland Islands team for the world cup??”

Though the Falkland Islands have a national team the constituent football associations of CONMEBOL refuse them membership in the organisation, and therefore they don't have membership of FIFA and thus can't take part in the World Cup. Another example of South American nations acting like twats.
