Yes, there are leaks in the system such as when couplings are broken on tanking facilities; the shut off length from the valve to the outlet needs to be shorter and I am sure somebody is working on a solution for this.
There are centuries of coal deposits but until there are proven techniques for minimising pollution from the burning of coal then methane is the way to go.
Venezuela has no modern means of re-cylcing ANY of its plastic, glass or paper waste product. All of which it imports adding to the global carbon footprint.

Sorry, Venezuela. Yet we hear more about China and the E U than Venezuela. Sure they are relevant but not CORE to the official business of this website.
