Full article 81 comments

Argentina reacted strongly and with a letter in harsh terms to Uruguay's decision to authorize Finland's UPM-Kymmene pulp mill to increase annual production by 8%. The letter addressed by Foreign minister Hector Timerman to his peer Luis Almagro informs Argentina will take the case to international tribunals and is currently 'reassessing' bilateral relations. You go Uruguay!

Be thankful Argentina is taking it to the ICJ. Let the best argument win.

No longer care what happens between argieland and Urineguay. I seem to recall argieland was “immediately” taking this case to the ICJ last year. Never did though. But Urineguay has to agree that the ICJ has jurisdiction! Does look like Urineguay may have the upper hand. May argieland meet with disaster yet again!

Because you keep telling me Argentines are starving as in Somalia, the country is more dangerous than Mossul for a Jew, there is complete disorder and chaos a la Haiti, and there is nothing to see culturally or naturally as the dullest/ugliest nation on Earth.

It finally got through what you have been saying for the last two years. So why leave my room to see that?

    @9

So I guess the argies are as unfortunate as the brits, who also have no say in what happens in their country. Corporations, corrupt banks, and Tony Blair decide what happens and you can't change it.

@10 Nope. I haven't said any of those things. You really need to get a grip and some perspective on life. Sitting in your room in your parent's house getting more bitter and full of self-hate is a waste of your life. It is NOT NORMAL behaviour.

LOL, not at all. However I do admit you are the most foxy insidious one, because you do have the ability to “wrap” and conceal the inaccuracies and half-truths in your famous “anecdotes” which conveniently you always seem to have one for whichever topic is required.

This latter is the oldest trick in the book: “I once spoke in passing to a Polo player while at the airport”... slick enough to make it plausible, so the gullible believe it. So yes you are more dangerous because your anti-Argentine propaganda is cloaked in a veneer of imparciality and “happenstance”.

My superior cortical abilities process information far faster so TO YOU it appears I am completely focus on you, since most humans could amass so much attention span only to one individual, but I can do it with at least a half-dozen even as I study 4 languages and learn all the other subjects plus have a side-job.

I have not saved not a single post from anyone here. Don't worry, I don't pay attention to particular posts since they are as usual ill-informed, I just analyze the overall pattern of behavior.

TTT @ 12 addressed to me. “You did say all those things. When I have the entire day off next July 9th, I will dedicate the entire day to grab quotes from you, and created a webpage and also a directory, plus put up a post here, so they are kept for posterity all the horribly ethnolitist, culturally supercilious half-truths you have stated.”

Are you so confused you cannot remember something you posted less than an hour ago?

@17 Islen, I didn't say any of those things. TTT is so full of hatred he cannot see reality. He has never left his room in his parent's home and his only information is garnered from the internet. So, when I relate a real-life, first-hand experience, he cannot comprehend it. He says he doesn't care what I say but he cares enough to devote his only day off in a month to make a web page devoted to me. Creepy.

The Argentine were offered the same facility the the British over the Falkland islands, but Argentinia refused.... The reason, most probably, they do not have a case. Its just drum beating by the Argentinean government who are making a mess of things back home and have to keep the nation behind them by inventing suprious claims to other territories which they have never possessed

Yes I've tried reasoning with him to. Even tried befriending him.

If you can believe it (and this might cause some pedantic posters to start googling) I even told him my actual real name on this message board.

The more he writes the more you can see that he exhibits many if the signs of autism. His savant abilities with languages is also quite common. One of my friends from uni who has become a teacher was able to list EVERY single match score for his footy tram for more than 100 years.

And the reasons for that score. But his form of Aspergers Syndrome was much much milder than Nostrils.

So trying to deal with Nostrils differently won't change anything. Autistics are confused by social nuance and relationships. They don't understand and are always perplexed.

So Nostrils will always be here. This is his outlet where he feels that his “intellect” can flourish and be appreciated.

Calm down everyone. I may be a bit Aspie and a little sick of mind, but that accounts for only 10% of my behavior here at best.

The 90% remaining lies IN YOUR HANDS.

Criticize Argentina fairly, stop the sweeping generalizations, stick to the topics and don't insult our way of life, our food, culture, history, fashion, landscapes, etc, etc, etc, and I will be Tobias.

Never said there was. Please be more pedantic.

Abuse regarding different countries happens all the time. Why should Argentina be any different? Try reading any article on Australia in many publications (esp Economist etc) and watch the haters come out, whether Indian, Chinese or American. I don't let them define my contribution though. I'm not that weak-willed.

“How many times has he told you, he doesn't have an issue with the Falklands and yet....there's another poster having their dig....”
And I accept his view on the Falkland Islands.

“...the British Govt are projecting their authority and dominance across the other side of the world where they no longer belong.”
The people of that part of the world accept and wish for UK sovereignty, therefore the UK belongs there.

    @66 Tobias
If that is indeed you, we'll know soon enough.

Nothing will change until you stop being the victim and narcissistically blaming others for your own behaviour.

To claim that 90% of your behaviour is because of anonymous people on the internet is a woeful reflection on your personality and abilities.

    You choose to reply.
You choose to go off topic.
You choose the content of your comments.

20% of the replies that I go to post are just deleted. I realise that by the end of the comment that there is no use. CabezaDura has no idea about Colombia on another thread but I'm not going to try to convince him because the future will bear out my viewpoint.

So here is some friendly advice. Write your reply in a word document. Then wait 10 minutes. If you still feel that is the reply that you want to post, then post it.

And then own the consequences. Don't blame others for your lack of self control.

First learn to ignore, people like Conq is a good start, replying to him won't change him from being an arsehole. When you can, take him down a peg or two then just move on and forget about it.

Grudges don't work when everyone is anonymous.

@66 TTT “I may be a bit Aspie and a little sick of mind,”

But if we all do exactly what you, TTT, want us to do you will be nice to us? You are more than a little strange.

I started to watch a programme about the Virgin Killer last night. The opening segment was the killer's video message to the world. It sounded just like one of TTT's diatribes about being superior and having revenge. (He was a little bit 'Aspie' too). I didn't watch the rest of the programme because the similarities between the two were unnerving.

TTT may be playing a game or really sick in the head. I don't know but I do know there is something seriously wrong with him. I hope the moderators here take note.

Will the Argentine football team be holding up a banner complaining about increased production at the pulp mill ?
It seems to be the K government's idea of diplomacy these days .....

First I had heard of it from 'the Voice, or should I say the Voice of insanity, that Australia is a colony of the United Kingdom, I wouldn't think that the Average Australian would agree with you at all. However, the Argentine has no room to criticize , they foreceably took the Argentine from its indigenous Indian population. As far as the Falklands is concerned there was no population, and the islands were first discovered by Great Britain in the 1600s . The Argentine probably did not even know that the Falklands existed at the time !

I'm guessing that English is not your first language....so I'm going to cut you some slack.....
I never insinuated that Australia was a colony of the UK, I mentioned Australia because the person I was addressing is an Australian and usually gets the drift of my posts....

    What part of.....
“A way should be found to resolve this.....UN protection and Sovereignty eliminated....”
    ...didn't you understand....?
The Islanders have not been British citizens for long....
    They shouldn't be.
It should be resolved by transferring Sovereignty to the Islands themselves both Britain and Argentina should give up Sovereignty claims. The UN should protect the Islands and the Islanders should lose British citizenship and get on with there lives, not being a burden to anyone....
As I see it, this would resolve the situation.

Argentina expanded its territory through conquest, to the size it is today,

    thus she condemns others,

And the only reason she wants the British out of the south Atlantic, is because SHE wants to expand her territories to include all British possession's in the south Atlantic,
thus her self becoming a modern day imperialist ,
and the 21st centuries first modern EMPIRE,

prove me wrong , just try and prove me wrong argies wannabie empire builders..

The beacon of democracy was there for the taking in Iraq. I have served in Arabian countries and the British were there for 120 years. After WW2 the Americans lamb asted Great Britain for being in Arab countries and up the Arabian Gulf. What the UK learned was that you cannot teach democracy to Islam, Allah always gets in the way. The problem being that they are still at the Inquistion stage of religion, so they have about 300 years to go to get that and Allah out of politics. What the British found was that the only way to rule Arabia was through a strong man or a king. That way a lid was kept on the various religious sects. I believe, for that reason, Saddam Hussain probably saved more people from dying, than ever democracy could. However, the British did get out of Arabia and what has happened is that America has been sucked in to just about every country we left....So we did know a thing, or two, and I must say we did it somewhat better and with less loss of life than the Americans have achieved

Please explain “ IT EFFECTS NO ONE”, Apparently 250 million was alloted to the cleanup but only 1 million was spent, the rest was misappropriated. Why am I not surpised by this. Tinman has the gall to say Uruguay is polluting the river, you just could not make this up. It would be better to go to the ICJ where you could get a ruling on the soveignty of the FALKLANDS.just Google “ THE MOST POLLUTED RIVERS OF THE WORLD” as proof.

Strange how the Argentine refused to take the Falklands issue to the ICJ, when it was offered to them by Great Britain.............I wonder why ?
