You can bet if there's an underground layer of oil stretching across the border, they will be screaming at the top of their voices that Paraguay ate stealing their resources.

    Probably demand a cut?

The Chaco War with Bolivia was sparked by the same thing. Who won? A ragtag Paraguayan army with weapons captured from the Bolivians.
    You don't mess with Paraguay

Apparently with help , the first step in getting Paraguay's access to the open seas,
all we have to do now, is dig a 500 mile canal through what was argentine territory to the sea,
they have no complains , its called proximity...lol

@5 Briton, how about this for the proximity argument. Argentina has a colony entirely surrounded by Uruguayan international waters known as the Isla Martin Garcia now physically connected by a sandbar to an Uruguayan Island.
By treaty this island was supposed to be a sanctuary for wildlife.
Argentina then used it as a prison,to whit to incarcerate the last female president , one Isabel Martinez de Peron.
Argentina never complies with treaties or agreements she signs
Vicenza criolla and they think it's hilarious.
