CFK says BRICS support Argentina in the holdouts dispute, but where’s the document?

President Cristina Fernandez assured that Argentina received the support from the group of BRICS countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) in its struggle against the holdout speculative funds, during the two summits held in Brazil, in Fortaleza and Brasilia. Read full article

So BRICS have told CFK to feck off. No statements of support, no money, no help and no hope for Argentina.

Not even an invitation to join the 'club'.

Apparently BRICS aren't as gullible as the Argentine public, and they're certainly not stupid enough to loan Argentina money given Argentina's record on paying loans back, so CFK has resorted to form and basically is lying about what has happened.

This can be added to her numerous other lies too...especially the one about the 'whole' world supporting Argentina when there is not ONE independent statement from ANY country that states that. Not even her precious C24 ever puts out official statements of support, and none of their 'recommendations' ever get past the 4th committee.

So it looks more and more like Argentina is isolated, not only from reality, but from the world.

So CFK's trip to Brazil was purely self-indulgent and to make her feel important by being allowed to visit the club that is BRICS. No loans from any country that 'supports' Argentina, not even their South American brothers. What a waste of time and money.

Kicillof should have been in NYC showing good faith and negotiating but maybe he didn't have the $125,000 mediation fee he has already run up because he can't man up and speak directly to the hold-outs representatives.

Seems that Mrs Kirchner thinks a change in the rules will benefit Brazil as much as Argentina. Is Brazil about to default as well?

    Where's the document?

Narnia, along with all the other bullshit I expect. Remember now children, the whole world supports them.... As does my pet Griffin, and she is prepared to lend Cristina $10 billion and her left kidney.
I bet you're more willing to believe my Griffin is female and a kidney donor than Cristina will sort out the economy. ..
How does she think she can get away with this stuff? Are people in Argentina so ill-informed that don't notice?

If Singers strategy was to use world opinion and world response as leverage he may be about to lose. Whats the back up plan when the entire political world frowns on his shifty vulture tactics. In the same way the IMF do today.
Brazil*,Russia, China and G77, 100 British Mp's, France Mercosur*, Sela, Oas are on Argentinas side so far.
Who will side with Argentina next ?
Has Singer gained any political allies so far ?

What does Singer need political allies for ?? He has no monkeys to entertain with bread, smoke and circus like CFK...

He just needs the US law on his side.

“If Singers strategy was to use world opinion and world response as leverage he may be about to lose”

Hmmm try to change in that sentence the word Singers for CFK's.

    Projection anyone??

The President of Uruguay, José Mujica, proved reticent about the start of operations of the bank of the BRICs. “Banks are a cow eating much even begin to give milk. Maybe in 2016, 2017 has anything but good.”

When asked if the new financial institution would be an alternative to the World Bank, said Mujica consider the performance of two complementary institutions. On the restructuring of Argentina's debt, he said that we need to create another mechanism to address the issue. “They want to eat a piece of a dead cow,” he said, adding that he knew by heart the speech that Cristina Kirchner did in meeting today. “I heard three or four times.”

Got quite a sense of humour Mr Mujica - dead, you wish.

Only “three or four times” - how does he remain so isolated....

“We must achieve a just solution” - The Chinese Ambassador to Argentina Yin Hengmin, yesterday endorsed the position of the national government in the conflict with the vulture funds. “We understand that Argentina made many efforts to pay off your debt and believe that we must avoid measures that hinder the country's development,” he said. He added that negotiations must move forward in a fair deal for all bondholders. “We have to support negotiations for achieving a just solution,” he said. The diplomat also expressed China's support on other fronts of international tension Argentina.

“For many years now formally support the claim over the Falkland Islands and no change in this regard. @ 11 albinita who wrote: “you can find up the english translation at the Brazilian's Ministry of Foreing Affairs!”

    Where, oh, where?

Because the text from the link only says:
“Em apoio à presidente argentina, Cristina Kirchner, Dilma fez um apelo aos demais presidentes por um ”caminho conjunto entre nós“ para mostrar que a decisão da Justiça dos EUA poderá ser muito dura para países em desenvolvimento e que as economias mais frágeis vão sofrer muito com procedimentos desse tipo.
    ... Cristina disse que ... ”

“In support of Argentine President Cristina Kirchner, Dilma appealed to other presidents for a ”that we walk together” (are united) to show that the decision of the U.S. court may be very hard for developing countries and the weaker economies will suffer much with such procedures. ... Cristina said ...“

Dilma APPEALED - nice of her.

”may be very hard for developing countries and the weaker economies will suffer much with such procedures”

    - but we know from the ruling of the United States Court of Appeal, that 99.6 percent of all new sovereign bonds issued under New York law since 2005 have a collective action clause, so there will be no more holdouts if a supermajority of bond holders accepts a restructuring of the original bonds.

    Read and understand:

They put this to aviation experts who basically tried not to laugh at the claim., pointing out that forty minutes at 33.000 feet is a long time and that radar does not see colours!!!!!

For starters, I doubt the Russian defense ministry with the clear knowledge of the events of the ground in Eastern Ukraine and the capabilities of the Ukrainian armed forces will risk sending over Putin as a lame duck over Ukrainian territory if that was the case.

    @67

You seem like a thoughtful poster, and one the side of the right of the British Falkland Islands to self-determination in front of Argentine aggression, but I have to call you out on something, because you have repeatedly made the same statements here and as fair is fair one must be objective.

You are trolling the argentine posters here about the World Cup final?? Seriously? Why would you do that?

More basically, how can you in all good conscience. Yes, the argentines lost the final, but they were in the final. As the statistics prove, that is very hard to achieve, hence the list of nations capable of getting there is countable within the digits of our hands. And they were not humiliated, they simply lost 1-0 to a better, mature team 12 years in the making.

Further Argentina actually trounced almost half of UEFA out of the tournament to get to the final. Finally, I have a hunch that your national team either has never even reached a final, or have not reached one in this century or the better part of the last one.

So lets be serious here, I'm sure one can find other areas to troll the argentines or legitimately criticize them, but World Cup performance is not one of them.

    You are quite right, Rob.
In fact, I agree with you fully.
The Argentine team did very well to be in the final and they played very well against a strong German team. Apart from a few “dirty” plays, common enough in matches today, they played a skilful game and are obviously high calibre - they deserved to be there.

If you go back, you will see that I did commend them for a good game.

However, I did take exception to one of the Argentine posters criticising us for politicising the game and showing poor attitude towards a sporting event.

It was pointed out to him that although he professes to be sports fan and respects a good game, there was no recognition from any of the Argentine posters, that Germany had played a good game. Sullen silence was the rule.
Furthermore, it was the Argentinian team that politicised the game with their offensive banner about the “Malvinas”.

No childish prank, 1,000 people were killed because of a military invasion to seize a foreign territory and kill or expel the inhabitants.
Recently, a vicious propaganda war and economic blockade initiated by the Argentine government, is trying to do the same thing.

The same Argentine poster, Paul Cedron, went on to insult the Falkland Islanders in his usual style as well as ridiculously insulting them for their lack of football standing in the WC.
As you are aware, being a football fan, the Falklands have nothing to do with it.

I want to take nothing away from the accomplishments of the Argentine team, but as far as using the WC as a political tool, that is out of bounds.

As for Paul Cedron, he's a hypocrit and an ass.
if he wishes to support the actions of his government and make insulting provocative remarks, while professing its in the name of sportsmanship and love of football, then I don't think it's out of order to poke him a bit with a sharp stick.
