I am certain she will make a defiant speech and all the other leaders will make sympathetic noises whilst offering no monetary support. Why would they?

all she can do is talk, and all she ever does is talk.

whats amazing is that some people still listen to her...

    (apparently)

Brazil and Uruguay can't standby and allow Argentina to collapse. They have a major interest in keeping, what is likely their biggest trading partner, afloat. China and Russia should also get involved and offer hard cash......Otherwise all those supportive words and expressions of fraternal solidarity will be seen as worthless.

“Argentina Vice-president Amado Boudou although indicted on corruption charges, will receive control of the Executive while head of state Cristina Fernandez is out of the country.”

I fail to see how whinging about vulture funds will actually help Argentina from descending into default?

Why aren't Argentina's mates at Mercosur dipping into their pockets to help their amigo?

And leaving someone in charge like Boudou?

    You couldn't make this up.

Surely she will bring up the Falklands as the number one priority in Argentina's agenda, The rest of the troubles are just inconveniences.

    3. There's not one country I can see that would be willing to help Argentina. Brazil has its own problems, they can maybe give them a line of credit to buy goods but why would they?
Uruguay is just too small to matter and has no money. They just have to protect themselves as much as they can from the collapse. They're used to it.
If China was going to help them out it would have been announced in the recent meeting, but the Yuan loan they thought they were getting is now up in the air because it required the country to be in good standing. So that loan probably won't happen either.
Russia? Come on! Their economy is taking a dive, they are all wrangled up in EU, there is no political gain for them to help a deadbeat. What could they get? Arg has nothing they want.
The Ks burned every political bridge there was with everyone that has the ability to help them.
Not even the IMF WB or IDB will loan them anything and if they defy a US court order they'll never see a cent from the USA again.

This should be an interesting next couple of weeks.

    No meeting with NML today.

Fiery Dictator-esque speech to idiotic Marxists in Venezuela. Which will do absolutely nothing for nobody.

Still following the Countdown to Default over at bubblear.com - I highly recommend it. My eye was also drawn to this article “The Salta Chief of Police, Marcelo Lami, has confirmed that officers in the awesome northern province will replace rubber bullets with paintballs …….” :) Apparently they get too many complaint about being shot with rubber bullets.

Strong speech from Cristina Fernandez expected at Mercosur summit in Caracas

Oh goody, goody!!! Is she going to wipe the froth from her chin and make some sense this time?

I think the key word here is the “expected” thing...

I think they are using it along the same lines as:-

“I expected them to sort this middle East thing out by now”

    and

“I had expected, that in the 21st Century, there would be no more famine”

As you can see, what actually IS and what is expected can be two different things
