Britain had a little flirt with reducing marijuana (cannabis) from a Class B to a Class C drug in 2004. As research goes on, it seems that cannabis has a deleterious effect on the human brain. So, fortunately, in 2009 it was reclassified to Class B. Who in their right mind would want druggies wandering the streets, operating machinery or driving vehicles? What else might they take? Still, politicians like to have zombies in the electorate.

Druggies have been wandering the streets of NYC since before I was born. Some have even been known to drive cars and operate machinery. Our mining companies have been drug testing their employees for the last quarter of a century, any company that uses heavy machinery and doesn't test has only themselves to blame, and we test drivers for both alcohol and drugs. It's the world we live in now.
