    This is stupid for 2 reasons.

    1) Iranian backing will harm public relations for the Palestinians in the West - which is the only asset they have

    2) With Israeli overwhelming military superiority any improvement in Gazan capabilities will unleash even more firepower from Israel. It is an arms race Hamas cannot win.

    Israel needs to withdraw from the West bank and unilaterally create a Palestinian state. Whatever happens afterwards can be dealt with at the time. If Hamas still insist on firing rockets they will continue to be bombed.

    Israel has run out of international goodwill and needs to act.

    Now who was it was claiming that Iran did nothing to help Hamas, even to the point of letting brother Islamists hang out to dry?

    Who was it? Hans by any chance?

    What now Hans?

    I could say I told you these medieval bastards stick together, but I won't.

    Behind Israel's military reactions is their slogan: “Never Again!”.
    Throughout history people tried to eliminate them. Only 70 years ago 6 million and more were slaughtered. What do you expect them to do? Come out with same weapon power? a lot of BS. They must win or cease to exist. The Iranians are happy to scarify the Hamas and the Palestinians (who btw voted for them and brought them to power in Gaza) to achieve their goals, Complete domination of the Middle East on the way to the world Caliphate. I am a declared Islamophobic. I can read the Quran in its original language. It is NOT a religion of peace it is a murderous religion of hatred. I am afraid that when the world will wake up it will be too late! Remember: NONE of the 9/11 participants were named “MOISHE” or “COHEN”.

    @3. I fail to see the logic behind your “solution”. So let's start with some basic. Israel can be traced back to at least the 11th century B.C. Back then it was larger than it is now. For example, it consisted of an area on the east bank of the Dead Sea and, on that side of the River Jordan, extended to a point north of the present-day town of Jerash. Jerash should not be confused with Jarash. So it's been invaded and occupied for around 3,200 years. For much of that time, particularly after 70 A.D. the Hebrew/Israelite/Jewish/Israeli people have been persecuted, robbed, expelled, murdered as they fled from their own country and tried to find refuge elsewhere. Culminating, of course, in Hitler's Holocaust. Way, way back we all knew that the capital of Israel was Jerusalem. One reason, of course, was that Solomon's Temple stood in the City of David.

    If I understand your solution correctly, you would be one of those suggesting that Israel return to 1967 borders, overlooking the fact that, under good old uti possidetis, Israel legally owns whatever territory it occupied after the last and preceding times that it was attacked by the arabs.

    So I have a better solution. All the arabs that can't bear to live peacefully in the State of Israel should pick up their stuff and move to the east bank of the River Jordan and the Dead Sea. Leaving aside previous daft “solutions”, it was where the arabs were meant to move to in 1948. It was then called Transjordan. Now it's just Jordan. I have to admit that I'd also like to see a 20-mile wide “buffer zone” on those east banks where arabs weren't allowed to travel westward. Perhaps there could be a “Coalition Intervention Force” to patrol it with helicopter gunships. But also equipped with tanks, APCs, combat aircraft, artillery and so forth. I've intentionally suggested a 20-mile zone to dissuade the relics of Hamas, Fatah and anyone else from trying to dig tunnels.

    How can you claim “uti possidetis” while also quoting events from thousands of years ago?

    I notice your post descends as usual into giving yourself a hard on while talking about weapons systems.

    And if Iran had nuclear warheads then what??

    How long before hamas(iran) gained such a treasure from their fellow islamists and it does not need to be in the form of a missile either.

    Words in the Koran are not really any more extreme than those in the Bible. Both are hate fests. I think the reason Islam has fared worse is because it is the religion of the underdeveloped undemocratic world and it is the culture rather than religion of choice that drives their blood lust. If they were Christian they'd be Crusading rather than partaking in Jihad.

    13. Christians invoke the doctrine of just war. From St Augustines Catholic theory that war can be justifiable this has influenced Protestant doctrine. The Archbishop of Canterbury having famously supported the liberation of Kuwait from Iraqi occupation in 1991. Anglican Just War doctrine has spurned on British forces from WW1, WW2, the Falklands to present day Afghanistan. Let's all sing that classic 19th century English hymn. Onward Christian soldiers.

    Onward, Christian soldiers, marching as to war,
    With the cross of Jesus going on before.
    Christ, the royal Master, leads against the foe;
    Forward into battle see His banners go!
    Refrain:
    Onward, Christian soldiers, marching as to war,
    With the cross of Jesus going on before.
    At the sign of triumph Satan’s host doth flee;
    On then, Christian soldiers, on to victory!
    Hell’s foundations quiver at the shout of praise;
    Brothers, lift your voices, loud your anthems raise.
    Like a mighty army moves the church of God;
    Brothers, we are treading where the saints have trod.
    We are not divided, all one body we,
    One in hope and doctrine, one in charity.
    Crowns and thrones may perish, kingdoms rise and wane,
    But the church of Jesus constant will remain.
    Gates of hell can never ’gainst that church prevail;
    We have Christ’s own promise, and that cannot fail.
    Onward then, ye people, join our happy throng,
    Blend with ours your voices in the triumph song.
    Glory, laud, and honor unto Christ the King,
    This through countless ages men and angels sing.

    Israel cannot allow a Palestinian state unless the Palestinians recognise Israel´s right to exist. If Iran wants to up the ante, they are in for an even greater defeat. For every israeli killed by Hamas or Fatah or Hizbollah, the palestinians have paid with hundreds of their people killed. If Hamas is ever successful to kill one hundred civilian israelies with one missile, Israel will start carpet-bombing Gaza and they will make sure more than ten thousand palestinians die before they stop their operation.

    The Palestinians recognise Israel as a nation state. Israel and the US have never recognised Palestines right to exist.

    18. What does a nation's right to exist mean?Think about it. It isn't used for any other nation on the planet. It's a paradox. Does the United States have a right To Exist? The Abbas govt recognises Israel's right to exist. They won't Recognise Israel to exist as a Jewish State. Think about what that Means.
