Falkland Islands involved oil and gas explorer Premier Oil may upgrade its 2014 production forecast after stronger-than-expected output in the first half of the year, pending the outcome of summer maintenance work, its Chief Executive said. The company reported a 7% rise in first-half profit after tax on Thursday, helped by strong oil production from its British fields. Read full article

Nene, exactly what is the connection that Rockhopper has with Premier Oil?

Premier is a partner in the licenses of Rockhopper, in fact it is the controlling entity,
I believe it controls 60% of the assets of the Sea Lion project.

    Someone is extremely jealous!
    ha ha ha!
    But how can they be?
They've got a huuuuuuge country just brimming with resources.
    But they want ours,
    Not going to get it!
    Go away & cry,
    Sad

Some sad plonkers working hard to find negative connotations to a positive story. The Falkland is making good progress. The route to partnership and friendship in the SWA is to join in and take advantage of the opportunities it offers, not fight it. Step back and think clearly about the benefits to future generations. Alternatively stick your head back in the sack whilst the world passes you by.

It's a small company with a good financial position and when the Falklands come on line it will be a much bigger company.

Contrast that with all the broken promises that have come out of YPF since the argie was in charge:

    1) No ability to provide oil or gas in meaningful quantities to The Dark Country despite his promises;

    2) No real external investments from any of the majors to develop The Mad Cow Field, oh, bit of a slip there: the Dead Cow Field;

    3) No technical advance in YPF to get the fracking underway but the Moron has announced some tiny oil finds at the site where they are attempting to get fracked gas out of the ground. Why is he surprised, it’s an OIL field? He has already told TMBOA that it’s all going as expected to which she scwreemed “no it isn’t you stupid man, I can’t get “my” money out, there’s none to be robbed”.

Oh yes, it’s all going to plan: FUBAR.

the bad thing about these small companies like premier oil and rockhopper is that they don't have the knowledge nor the means for exploring or extracting neither oil nor gas.

they already had a serious accident with the leak of a pipeline in vietnam.
now they want to contaminate our wonderful mar argentino.

if they produce another environmental disaster in our wonderful waters, we will impound all the sheeps & penguins of the islets.

The point is surely that with Argentine cooperation, it could have been bigger and the benefits could have bee shared by all.

The point really is that Argentina has no influence over what happens in the FALKLANDS as regards their oil. At one time they could have influenced it but Bugeyed Nestor ripped the agreement up, something that they really are good at, cutting their noses off to spite their face. VACA MUERTE has been extremely profitable hasn't it?

You seem to excell at talking about things you know little about, but then again, why should you have any expertise or knowledge about a entity hundreds of miles off your coast with zero Argentine influence?

As to your point, why not DYOR regards the North Sea and Noble Energy, to mentioned one such 'small no-nothing' company flagrantly flouting 'Argentine law and authority' which, let's be honest, is about as respected as your arsewipe of a currency these days.

    Marcos.

Say no more is fine...as actions speak louder than words.

The rig is soon to be arriving for at least 5 more drills. I will take a bet with you that Sealion complex is bigger than 500m barrels after the first Zebedee well.

If Noble energy strike on Diomedia, it will be hilarious.

RKH share price is pretty irrelevant, but it is worth 3x what it was in 2010....what is the Argentine peso worth compared to 2010?

As a significant investor in the companies that are exploring for oil in the FALKLANDS I would add the following. According to Rockhopper they will be targetting
    1) Zebedee estimated gross oil in place 942 million barrels
    2) Isobel/Elaine estimated gross oil in place 241 million barrels
    3) Jayne East estimated gross oil 289 million barrels
    4) Chatham/ Sea Lion West Flank estimated gross oil 225 million barrels
2nd quarter I understand they will be drilling. Oh incidently Noble have slots as does Argos who are looking for a partner.
8 no. wells I believe will be drilled.

@10“ if they produce another environmental disaster in our wonderful waters, we will impound all the sheeps & penguins of the islets.”

Or you could arrest and put into prison anyone associated with Falklands hydrocarbon development?

(Although Argentina has threatened this since 2010 and we are still waiting for something to happen...yawn.......).

the british are the responsibles of the biggest disaster regarding oil exploration & extraction.
their standards are the poorest worldwide.
