Methinks time to buy shares in the companies willing to invest in the FALKLANDS, hows the investment going for VACA MUERTA?
No data yet from the oil discovered in Santa Cruz.

Premier Oil is a UK company Mercopress. Think you've got confused with Noble Energy here.

Cue Marcos rantings about RKH who are now just a minor Cue lots of rants about share values - which go up and down according to a lot more financial considerations than just the Falklands.

Oh I'm sure there will be investment in education and all manner of things thanks to oil.

And it won't be squandered like Argentina has managed to do with its resources income.

@9. The RG government has been threatening to take UK oil companies drilling for Falkland hydrocarbons to the 'international courts' since February 2010. Why is the case taking soooo l o n g?

have you ever asked yourselves why top class companies like chevron, total, exxon, etc are not interested in that “oil” well?
    not even bp.
only premier lol whose records are basically failures and accidents.

so, give those scammers of premier and rockhopper a good kick in the ass and stick to your penguins and sheep.

@12. Curiously, I can't find much in Premier's record about failures and accidents. In fact, only 2 “accidents”. A helicopter crash where, it appears, the helicopter was not properly maintained by the operator. Since Premier wasn't the operator, it's only that the passengers were working for Premier. That was 2009. Then there was a diving incident in 2011. It appears that the diver may have been, unknowingly, suffering from diabetes. I would have expected the Falkland Islands Government to have made some fairly extensive enquiries about Premier's history.

On the other hand, Premier is operating in United Kingdom, Pakistan, Indonesia, Vietnam, India, Philippines, Norway, Congo, Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic and Egypt.

    Naughty argie propaganda?

Sometimes your posts are full of hate and crap but I do enjoy the factual ones like above. Van I ask though, why do you sometime fly of the handle and go on tangents? Posts like the one above are much more insulting to those who want to discredit anything the UK does. Beat the malvinists with fact and not insults. Anyway just wanted to say I like the response to 12.

Thanks for the link. It is interesting and appreciated.

First, I enjoy eating meat. I buy both normal and organic produce, wear leather shoes and enjoy an occasional duck hunt. I support herd culling by hunting to manage animal populations. In other words, I'm not some PETA lunatic...

As I read in your news about the “Landmark reindeer eradication project to protect native biodiversity” I again felt a certain sadness that the authorities had made such a poor decision. Yes, I understand the reasoning, but then again, were the reindeer really causing such ecological damage? I don't think anyone really knows, but I suspect it was a tragic mistake.

With complete respect and encouragement to continue the news site.

anyway, i'm heading to mar del plata now to surf those 5 meter tall waves, so i do not have more time to waste with you all.

i will report from there soon.

Hold on a mo, you're heading to MDP when its 42F degrees outside to surf? Are you insane?

BTW if you've never been MDP water is DISGUSTING, its brown and freezing, the beach sand is wet and people bring tents to stay out of windy sand. Not a pleasant place.
Although I did have the best pizza there, I wish I could remember the name of it, small place 1 block from the beach on the south side of the park. Yum yum.

my family have been to mar de plata (never again), and im sure paul, if hes ever been, will know its easier to surf turds from the sewage waste rather than have a great time

A real surfer would head to Waikiki beach, less pollution and not so many Argentinians who have a habit of kicking sand in your face and on your towels because you got there first (sounds like their attitude to the falklands, but its true)

have you ever left the islets?
    the answer is NO.

as for mar del plata, the best surfing spots are in chapadmalal, nabos x 1000.
in la paloma to be more specific.
6 meter tall crest of waves today

    niño,

I don't know why we're talking about you - trying to show off ?? Who cares?

Many many people surf, little niño.

Did you think it was just you????

I worked and lived, one block from the beach, in Huntington. What do you think we did there?

Hawaii has 10's of thousands of visitors every year, like me, going there to surf and go diving.

The funny thing is, YOU will never be able to.
