Speaking with Argentina TV stations, Vatican Chief of Ceremonial, Guillermo Karcher played down the threats against Francis saying that “the Pope is not giving substance” to the reports. He explained that the Vatican security measures have not been increased since there has been “no official” threat.

Karcher called to avoid creating a “a climate of terror” and reiterated that no security alert has been issued.

The statement follows a report from the Roman newspaper Il Tempo, that citing Italian secret service and Israeli sources said that Pope Francis has become a target by Islamic State (IS) terrorists, as part of the group’s plan against the West.

In an article published on Sunday, the newspaper reports that the IS, which has committed a series of brutal attacks against Catholics in Iraq, has targeted the Argentine Pope, as the greatest exponent of Catholic religion, for being “the bearer of false truth.”

“The Islamic terrorist group, lead by Al-Baghafi (…) seek to raise the level of confrontation by striking Europe and Italy,” it adds.

Last week Pope Francis said that it was “licit to stop the unjust aggressor” when asked by reporters about a possible US bombing of Iraq to stop IS, which has made many see Francis as approving of the strikes.

These whacky Islamists in their black jumper suits seem to think this is a game they can win. I can only assume those with experience of overwhelming firepower are already dead and therefore can't pass on their experience.

His security people should take this serious, are we forgetting in our lifetime that there as already been an attempt on a popes life?

Some deluded scumbag, in the misguided belief of serving Islam, could well try to kill him and what better way of achieving jihad? than assassinating the head of the infidels on earth.

Let's face it, at this current time in our history, there have never been more of the bastards out there than now.

Of course, he won't give a fuck about dying as a martyr.

    Sound familiar!!!!!!!

Religion, responsible for more suffering on this planet than anything else.
