Argentina will be launching on Thursday, 4 September the book Argentine sovereignty in Malvinas; 50 years since Ambassador Ruda's statement which recalls the half century since the presentation by then Ambassador Jose Maria Ruda before the United Nations Special Decolonization Committee, or C24. Disclaimer & comment rulesBahahahaha - this is all they can do. In 1982 Argentinian invaders were thrown out. They have no rights to the Falkland Islands...loosers. The C24 is no more than a lunch club for freeloaders, shut it down.
Sep 04th, 2014 - 06:53 am - Link - Report abuse 0Sounds like the Argentine claim has gone backwards then. They invaded illegally in 1982, ignored binding UNSC resolutions to leave and then got kicked out. Anything discussed before that is history. Happy 50th Argentina, see you in another 50!

It is a unique and strange culture that would hold a ceremony to celebrate the telling of porkies to the UN, and to remind everybody of the flagrant breach of the very resolutions and agreements which might once have helped them get what they want.

Sep 04th, 2014 - 07:46 am - Link - Report abuse 0The UN General Assembly has never called the Falklands situation a special and particular colonial case .
This same Dr Ruda became a Judge at the ICJ and was a member of the Court for the Western Sahara Advisory Opinion. Although Dr Ruda wrote a dissenting opinion he did not make any reference to paragraphs 54- 59 of the Opinion which deal with the right to self-determination.
I feel that his is particularly important as paragraph 54 of the Opinion reads:
' The Charter of the United Nations, in Article 1, paragraph 2, indicates,
as one of the purposes of the United Nations: To develop friendly relations among nations based on respect for the principle of equal rights and self-determination of peoples . . . This purpose is further developed in
Articles 55 and 56 of the Charter. Those provisions have direct and particular relevance for non-self-governing territories, which are dealt with in Chapter XI of the Charter. As the Court stated in its Advisory Opinion of 21 June 1971 on The Legal Consequences for States of the Continued Presence of South Africa in Namibia (South West Africa) notwithstanding Security Council Resolution 276 (1 970) :
. . . the subsequent development of international law in regard to
non-self-governing territories, as enshrined in the Charter of the United
Nations, made the principle of self-determination applicable to all of
them (I.C.J. Reports 1971, p. 31).'

Why does argieland rely on UN resolutions that have no legal force?
Why would anyone quote a NON-BINDING resolution?
Why does it quote regional resolutions about which the UK cares nothing?
How many of these hot-air latino organisations does the UK belong to? None. Bit like your neighbour shouting I hate you over the wall.
Why does it ignore the most salient feature of this dispute?
Nothing prior to 14 June 1982 is relevant. Argieland invaded, illegally, and occupied, illegally. The UK defeated the latino cowards. Over ELEVEN THOUSAND PRISONERS. The runners. The gutless. The losers.
Does argieland have a timescale for reaching the 20th century?
Another 200 years maybe. But don't hold your breath. Much shorter timescale if we shoot the ignorant bastards.
Can argieland distinguish between capable and incapable?
YES!! British troops can kill argie troops and are, therefore, capable. Argie troops are bum-tremblers. They don't have to be capable. Just open. Not a problem. They're usually open. Argie troops only complain about British bayonets because the probes are sharp. They're used to nightly medical probes by officers.
How many argie veterans actually landed on the Falklands? Why don't they get their speed record from Mount Tumbledown recognised?
Is there a valid reason not to take action against argie vermin?
”called for the application of the 'territorial integrity' principle based on UN Assembly paragraph six of Resolution 1514 (XV), which allegedly was ignored by the British usurpation and occupation of that part of the Argentine territory.
Sep 04th, 2014 - 02:27 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Unfortunately for Argentina, they think that paragraph 6 is the only one that exists-every other provision in the resolution supports the rights of the Islanders.
Territorial integrity in this instant can only apply if Britain was colonising a people who were originally attached to Argentina, and who wished to return to Argentina.
As there is no definitive evidence to prove that the Falkland Islands were Argentine for many years, territorial integrity has not been broken.
establishing that the way to resolve it was through negotiations so that both sides can find a peaceful solution to the controversy.
So while Britain was negotiating with Argentina, Argentina's answer was to use a non-peaceful solution for which they have not got the guts to apologise for.
The video recalls that during the sixties and until 1974, under the communications' accords, a landing strip was assembled in Stanley; a gas and fuel storage plant from YPF and Gas del Estado were constructed, plus agreements on migration, education, supplies and air services.
All of which the Falkland Islanders no longer need, and the agreements were voided by the 1982 war-started by Argentina.
ambassador Ruda made the presentation before the international community supporting Argentina's rights over the Malvinas Islands”
As this was laced with lies, the UK should be campaigning for 2065 to be made void as its application resulted from lies. Argentina are still unaware that the 1982 war voided 2065, as they haven't yet actually read 2065,evidenced by the trash the Malvanistas quote on here, their heads firmly looking up their own arse.
The key issue that malvanistas don't really understand is the Falklands have rights under paragraph 1&2 of res 1514 merely by being on the c24 list, the UN has recognised that they qualify because they are still on the list.
Sep 04th, 2014 - 03:36 pm - Link - Report abuse 0The ICJ are merely confirming the un's stance.
Bit simple really
If only Argentina were to appeal against the c24 listing and then apply to the ICJ......but that's too difficult isn't it?
It's not like it's a paper mill, the beagle channel, the us stance on bond holdouts, or any other slight perceived??? Surely?
The Argentines have been brainwashed since birth to believe the lies, ,myths , fairly tales and misrepresentations of historic events concerning the Falklands/Malvinas archipelago. They have a Cry Wolf mentally which needs addressing and can only be countered by the International Court of Justice which will examine all the evidence, true and invented, and come to its decision accordingly.

So how does this help Argentina if the author accepts that the history he published was incorrect and has corrected it?
It cannot be pro Argentine is the author has accepted mistakes were made.
You will notice this is a trait that Argentina does not possess-the ability to accept they have made mistakes and to correct them and go forward.
Therefore because of that great Argentine quality of denial in the face of all evidence, this will ensure that they will be bolassed forever, making mistakes that they deny making.

The British claimed these lslands in 1765.
That is 45 years before Argentina claimed its independence from Spain in 1810.
45 years before the political nation of Argentina even existed.
How can Argentines even think that they own the Falklands?
Do not 45 years mean anything to you?

Argentina may never give up its claims & we will never consent to being ruled by Argentina.
So we have a stalemate.
There also will be no agreement that l can think of.
We are not in Argentina's backyard, we are in the South Atlantic, which is several hundred kilometers from Argentina.
Any resources found here(gold, silver, copper, uranium, iron, coal & oil) belong to the Falklands & are nothing to do with Argentina.
You have enough resources of your own, in your underdeveloped land.
We could have been friends & good neighbours.
Argentina's attitude has ensured that is not going to happen for the foreseeable future.

Sep 13th, 2014 - 02:20 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Great Britain was allways a colonialist empire and now people talks about self determination....is really ironic....
UK is not imposing self-determination on the Falkland Islanders.
It is the Islanders telling the UK they want self-determination i.e that is the opposite of colonialism.
And it is equally ironic that Argentina keeps talking about British colonialism yet wishes to colonise a people of nine generations who don't want to be ruled by Argentine colonialism.
A double irony my friend.
