All this nonsense was in the days before real terrorism abounded and these cunts were lucky they did not have to face a Typhoon or two: I doubt they would have made it. :o)

So the arsehole Mickey Fitzgerald (I bet he did) couldn’t tell his arse from his elbow and crash landed. The Navy should have fired him out of a torpedo tube as they went over the Belgrano, itself another joke of the argies.

The argies: always been a bunch of idiots under Peron and nothing will ever change by the look of it.

I should think the Islanders are sick of these idiots.

    They (Argies) are reminiscing about the good old days when the UK put up with stupid stunts and allowed hijacking. But amazingly, some of Argentina's sovereignty arguments weakly revolve around;

“In the 1960s and 1970s the UK allowed us to p**s all over the Falkland Islanders yet they are supporting the Islanders now -it's so unfair!”

Fortunately more level heads than ChrisR have held the post of Air Commander since 1982. I can personally vouch for the uninvited but safe arrival and departure of a civilian pilot in hs twin engine Cessna in the late 90's. Bless him, I recall that all he wanted to do was deliver some fruit and vegetables to the starving and oppressed indigenous population of the “Malvinas Islands”. After a night in the police station his plane was refueled and he left accompanied by the C130, for air safety's sake of course.

Well, some good news for a change...

London 13 September, 14 (Reuters ) Though a newly negotiated debt swap with the Russian Federation, an Argentine government spokesperson elaborated that Aerolineas Argentinas would be acquiring three Tupolev 154 renovated and modern equipped aircraft to service, pending approval, the newly announced route between Buenos Aires and Mt. Pleasant.

With a cruising speed of 975 kilometres per hour (606 mph), the time proven and reliable Tu-154 is one of the fastest civilian aircraft in operation which has a range of 5,280 kilometres (3,280 mi). Capable of operating from unpaved and gravel airfields, it was widely used in extreme Arctic conditions where other airliners were unable to operate and where service facilities were very basic.

Alicia Castro, Ambassador to the United Kingdom in the post meeting conference, also mentioned that current plans of Aerolineas Argentinas changeover to an exclusive Russian built fleet for Aerolineas Argentinas is part of the current government’s strategy to offset trade swap in goods instead of depending on obtaining international credit allowing for a complete modernization of the fleet.

“The TU154 new service will prove that Argentina is committed to its territorial inhabitants best needs and remains serious about its promises for a peaceful solution with an opportunity to improve communications and the quality of life to the Islanders.”

I don't know if eliminating service from LAN Chile is a good idea, but it seems so sincere... Plus, maybe this is the time to give CFK another chance to show that she only has the islander's best interests at heart!

    Your satire is great!

“The TU154 new service will prove that Argentina is committed to its territorial inhabitants best needs and remains serious about its promises for a peaceful solution with an opportunity to improve communications and the quality of life to the Islanders.”

LOL, LO and LOL- only the Argentines could think that using an aircraft a generation (at least!) behind what is currently on offer to the Falkland Islanders, is a sure fire winner.

”and remains serious about its promises for a peaceful solution with an opportunity to improve communications and the quality of life to the Islanders.”

If they wanted a fast airliner why didn't they blag the last RAF VC10s, that happened to be the second fastest airliner after Concorde?

The VC10's are almost as wickedly difficult to get parts for than for the Rolls-Royce turbines in their Navy's frigates. Plus Russia made one heck a great deal!
They will eventually replace the time tested Tupolev 154s with the modern state of the art Irkut MC-21 airliner in current development.

No, I haven't seen the film, sounds great though!
I quite like the idea of HansNiesund’s ‘bucolic Wodehousian’ version of the Duchess of Fenwick. Something quite like Aunt Dahlia who is “built rather on the lines of Mae West”, but with a reddish-purple complexion. Her most notable personal characteristic is her carrying voice. Riding in her youth for years with such fox-hunting clubs as the Quorn and the Pytchley, she tends to address Bertie, over the phone or indoors, as if “shouting across ploughed fields in a high wind.”
She is also a Governor of Market Snodsbury Grammar School. Once described thus:
“She fitted into my biggest arm-chair as if it had been built round her by someone who knew they were wearing arm-chairs tight about the hips that season”
― P.G. Wodehouse, Carry on, Jeeves
    lol!
(Don't forget I know her personally!)
    ;-)))
    Also, if you are interested;
Gloriana was the name given by the 16th-century poet Edmund Spenser to his character representing Queen Elizabeth I in his poem The Faerie Queene. It became the popular name given to Elizabeth I. It is recorded that the troops at Tilbury Docks, London, hailed her with cries of “Gloriana, Gloriana, Gloriana”, after the defeat of the Spanish Armada in 1588.
    History so often repeats itself...

I saw the film “The mouse that roared” - back in the 60's, if not mistaken. Peter Sellers at his best. The only problem for the Argies though, is that when their navy - presuming it can sail that far without sinking - gets close to the Islands, the Brits will not be in the middle of a safety drill, down in the bomb shelters...

    For the two mamarrachos

    http://en.wikisource.org/wiki/1850_Convention_of_Settlement

Please note paragraph 7 of this document in which Argentina tacitly agrees that it has no claim on the Falklands/Malvinas. So much so that Argentina failed to make a claim for nearly 100 years - one has to imagine that they believed that this treaty, also known as the Arana Southern Treaty, would not be remembered by the British.

One can see why Argentina will not take its case to the ICJ as just this one document is enough for its case to be dismissed as irrelevant and mischievous.

....I see no mention of the Falklands....
....or did this mean restoring to the state before the blockade....
....that would be the state where both countries have respective claims to the Falklands, but neither are making a big fuss about it.....
...or are there secret clauses that I am not seeing.....

@ 33 It haas been accepted that as the Falklands/Malvinas were not mentioned in the Treaty then their possession was no longer a matter with which Argentinas was concerned.

This opinions has been confirmed by various Argentine and other Latin American historians. Also bear in mind “Between the re-establishment of British rule on the Falkland Islands in 1833 and the ratification of the treaty, Argentina sent annual protests to the British government by means of the Message to Congress, thereby maintaining Argentina's claim to the islands. Following the treaty, such protests ceased, and Argentina did not protest again diplomatically until 1888. The matter was not raised again before the Argentine Congress until 1941. The British government cites this change as evidence that ”there is no question over the sovereignty of the Falkland Islands”. (From Wiki) Also ”A number of historians have commented on the relation of the Convention of Settlement to the Falklands dispute. The Mexican diplomat and historian Carlos Pereyra considers that General Rosas gave up the claim to the Falklands in order to end Britain's involvement in the River Plate.
The impact of the treaty was also raised in a 1950 debate on Argentina's claim to the Falklands by a member of the Argentine Chamber of Deputies, Absalón Rojas
Other Argentine historians have commented on the impact that the Convention of Settlement has upon Argentina's modern sovereignty claim, such as historian Alfredo R. Burnet-Merlín. Ernesto J. Fitte considers that the Argentine Confederation should have included its restitution in the treaty.(Also from Wiki)

What is important is how legal scholars of the day and therefore nations viewed the effects of a peace treaty to wit:
LAWS OF WAR By H. W. HALLECK, 1866 CHAPTER XXXIV. TREATIES OF PEACE.
§ 12. Principle of uti possidetes. A treaty of peace leaves every thing in the state in which it finds it, unless there be some express stipulations to the contrary. The existing state of possession is maintained, except so far as altered by the terms of the treaty. If nothing be said about the conquered country or places, they remain with the possessor, and his title cannot afterward be called in question. ... ...Treaties of peace, made by the competent authorities of such governments, are obligatory upon the whole nation, and, consequently, upon all succeeding governments, whatever may be their character.
Supported by the following international legal scholars:
    GROTIUS, Vattel, HENRY WHEATON, LL.D, H. W. HALLECK, JAMES MADISON CUTT, T. J. LAWRENCE, M.A., LL.D,
    GEORGE GRAFTON WILSON, Ph.D., LL.D, L. OPPENHEIM, M.A., LL.D, Hans Kelsen
Additionally supported by Argentine subsequent acquiescence.
The Argentine president Domingo Sarmiento’s Message to the Argentine Congress on 1 May 1869:
“El estado de nuestras relaciones exteriores responde á las aspiraciones del país. Nada nos reclaman las otras Naciónes: nada tenemos que pedir de ellas, sino es la continuación de las manifestaciones de simpatía con que de parte de pueblos y gobiernos ha sido favorecida la República por sus progresos y espíritu de justicia.” (Heraclio Mabragaña 1910, vol. III, p. 286 which can be found in Biblioteca Nacional de la República Argentina, Agüero 2502, Recoleta, Buenos Aires)
“The state of our foreign relations fulfils the aspirations of the country. Nothing is claimed from us by other nations; we have nothing to ask of them except that they will persevere in manifesting their sympathies, with which both Governments and peoples have honoured the Republic, both for its progress and its spirit of

Ok I'll have to write in the language of the ignorant hillbillies so they can understand. You can brag about being now britits ( considering what you were before, citizens of nowhere) and mock
the Latinos (as any ignorant redneck would do) but that doesn't change a thing, at the end of the day you know that sooner or later the Argentine flag is gonna replaced the union fag, and most likely you are gonna have to make the long ride home ( though I doubt it you'll be able to adjust to the lights of Londonistan. Of course eventually you'll want to reunite with your own so I suppose you'll end up living in a village of fanatic incestuous inbreds. ANY SIMILARITY WITH FUCKLAND IS MERE COINCIDENCE '' Your situation is nothing but desperate, get used to the idea of living under Argentine rule because that's what will happen. Who's gonna keep that from happening? The United kingdom? Last time I checked that thing was disintegrating, the Scottish about to become independent, and Wales will follow suit. Please answer this question, in the event of the Argentine governing lasMalvinas what would you do? Will you stay in your beloved islands? Or would you go back to england? And don't say ' that's never gonna happen! ' just answer me this question, camon, would you stay? Or would you leave?

This is the real reason why you hate argentines, it's the same reason why you don't wanna have anything to do with today's colourful british society. You would rather keep the present status quo, where you benefit from the poor and sometimes brown british taxpayer while at the same time you keep yourself isolated and safe from the brown latin speakers of south america. Racists. And cynical. You want to keep your race pure but of course you don't mind living on the poor and brown money.

    Ever been to specsavers?

If you had you will notice several Islanders descended from St Helena and several Chileans/and Islanders of Chilean origin who do not have white skins.

The Islanders are not descended from one race, but from several nationalities including some from South America, which exposes you as a racist, not the Falkland Islanders.

Paradoxically can you explain why in the 19th century Argentina's population had a high proportion of blacks which 'disappeared'?

Maybe you can also explain the prevalence of white faces in Argentina?

@115 So that the UK accept to negotiate with Argentina to take the case to court.
@117 Correction-Port Egmont-not the whole of the Islands was occupied by British.
So with what right they occupied all the islands?
So with what right occupied Port Soledad?

    @116 castortroy,
ln this case, we have need of shame, but you do.
Your entire ridiculous“claims”are based on lies.
Can you look me in the face & repeat your outrageous lies without a twinge of embarrassment?
Yes, l believe that you could.
Does lying come naturally to you?
Or do you have to work on it?
l would say that you are past masters of telling lies.
lf you have no proof, castortroy, then l am wasting my time with you.
Take it to the ICJ or shut up.
    @118 Malvinense 1833,
Argentina does not need the UK to “negotiate”or, in fact agree or disagree, in order for you to take it to court.
Argentina can take it to court whether we like it or not.
There is nothing stopping Argentina from taking their case to the ICJ.
    So why don't you?
We would LOVE Argentina to go to the ICJ.
Have you ever wondered, Malvi, WHY Argentina will not take their “claim” to the ICJ?
Because you have no case & no proof & the Argentine Government know this.
The Argentine Government is either hoping that we will weaken or is hoping for a miracle.
    Not going to happen.
We will NEVER weaken & there's not too many miracles these days.

Last time we went there we didn't really know the kelpers, so we treated them nicely, next time it will be a total different story for we now know what kind of racist scumbags you are.
    The islands belong to Argentina
You know it, the british knows it
    The whole world knows it
You are still there because of the money
The pos war made rich men from ignorant illiterate hillbillies.
You don't even have a right to live on that land, your are just the progeny of European settlers. I am the descendant of south american people who Fought and expelled the European oppressors.
You cynical brats why do you think the UN says UK and Argentina sit down to resolve this? The UN laughs at less than 3000 foreigners pretending to create a country in south american island.
You are isolated. All of south america back our claim, not only because it's obvious the islands were and are Argentine but because they don't want a European base on their doorstep.
Your becoming weaker with every passing day
Britain is more than ever a tiny little country half way round the world.
China and Russia backs Argentina and we are making allies with them. We produce half the food the US does, don't you think we could buy or even get for free a couple nuclear subs?
You are in deep trouble indeed.
If I was you I'd be booking a cruise to Portsmouth.

If you wanna live under british rule you should go back to where you came from.
    OUT
    OUT
    OUT!

Just saying ,“it's mine, it's mine!!” does not make it true. Malvinista. :-D

Argentina, part of UP was 1,000 miles away from the Falklands in 1833, and no Argentines lived there.

Please explain how it is yours???

Are you a “South American” descended from Europeans, or AmerIndians?

If you are Amerindian, it was the Argentines stole your land in Patagonia in the 1880s.
Until then,“ Argentines” lived by the River Plate.

Neither the Amerindians , nor the Argentines lived in the Falklands.

The “European Oppressors” the Spanish, the ones you revolted against, to seize BA, certainly didn't bequeath the Falklands to a bunch of violent rebels stealing their colonies.

    You make me laff !!!

@122 make you laugh? I make you uneasy I see. Now tell me why is it that your representatives at the UN don't go there with that ridiculous tale of Argentine stealing from themselves? I'll tell you why, it's because they are not as dumb as the people they represent. You tought that phony referendum was going to impress the UN. Didn't work di'd it. The UN knows exactly what you all about, a racist european colony who hates the people of south america as a whole.

Go back to europe. South americans don't want an enclave of rednecks on their soil.
Tell me racists, how many Brazilians have you married lately?
    How many Uruguayans?
    How many Peruvians?
    Not one.
Go back to northern england, I'm sure you'll find a nice village where you can continue your inbreeding.
    Out of southamerica.
We don't want racists rednecks here.

I would really like to see some evidence if you are going to call us racist because I really don't see it. Just calling us racist evert third line doesn't make it true.

We don't care what you think.
This is OUR land, NOT yours & we intend to keep it.
Now tell me niño, what are you going to do about it?
Let me tell you what you are going to do……nothing, as usual.
    You are all hot air.

@124 you want some evidence Benson? Here.
What would you call a group of peoples like you happy to ne isolated from their neighbors?
What would you call a people who mock and call their neighbors banana countries?
What would you call a people who mock the language and culture of other peoples?
I know the US very well. I've seen people just like you in the deep south. They hate latin because of skin color, they hate Chinese because of the small eyes, they hate the french because of the language. They always have a good excuse to keep being racist and ignorant.
Doesn't this sound a lot like the average islander?
Want some more evidence? You live in south america right? You agree with that? This is not Europe right?
    Well, argentines marry Brazilian, Chilean
    Uruguayans marry argentines, Ecuadorian
    Peruvian marry Brazilian, Argentine etc.
How come you guys never marry your southamerican neighbors?
    I'll tell you why' racism.
    It's simple.
there's the evidence you asked for, boy.

“What would you call a group of peoples like you happy to ne isolated from their neighbors?”
The isolation is caused by Argentinas policies, we want good relations with our neighbours.
“What would you call a people who mock and call their neighbors banana countries?”
We mock Argentina (I personally have never called anywhere a banana country) in retaliation of being called inbred, sheepshagging, thieves by the Argentinians. Also Argentina is a nation not a race, this rips into your governance not you race.
“What would you call a people who mock the language and culture of other peoples?”
Again there will be some unpleasent comments against a country that is trying to take your home especially when that is something that is ingrained into the culture but can you find me examples of Falkland Islanders mocking the South American culture in general (as that would be racist) or the Spanish language?

    “Well, argentines marry Brazilian, Chilean
    Uruguayans marry argentines, Ecuadorian
    Peruvian marry Brazilian, Argentine etc.
How come you guys never marry your southamerican neighbors? ”
I'm personally not married myself but my longest relationship was with a Brazilian, plus this statement is a lie as Falkland Islanders do marry people from the continent.
“I know the US very well. I've seen people just like you in the deep south. They hate latin because of skin color, they hate Chinese because of the small eyes, they hate the french because of the language. They always have a good excuse to keep being racist and ignorant.
Doesn't this sound a lot like the average islander? ”
    No not in the slightest.

I'm not saying that racisim does not exist Falkland Islands but it is not prevailent, if you had ever been there you would know this.
Finally I have never seen a comment from a Falkland Islander that has anywhere near the ammount of acidic vitriol that comes out of your posts.

“there's the evidence you asked for, boy.”
Sorry I meant to say “factual” evidence.

lf you can't take the heat, then get out of the kitchen, castors old chap.
Anyway, we are not in South America, we are in the South Atlantic.

Nothing much to worry about here. Just another Argentine troll having a psychotic episode. It must be the overwhelming propaganda and economic pressure. He just blew a gasket. Must be wierd to start realising that you have been lied to your whole life.
This is what happens when your previously assured reality starts to unravel. Castrated Troll's brain had started to melt.
    Not a pretty sight.
