Argentina will pay holders of its restructured sovereign debt, thanks to a bill passed by its Congress last week despite a US court ruling, the country's economy minister told a local radio show on Sunday. Read full article
Thats the way to go Argentina , flouting international law, you have been warned that it is illegal, the legal system will take you to account when you try or pay the original bondholders outside USA jurisdiction, and not before.
I still fail to see how they will have the bondholders record. Beyond the scenes they are feverishly demanding this information all the while telling the public they will make this payment.......sure they will when BNY turns this information over.
The bond holders will never agree to accept their money through another bank because by doing so they are agreeing that the US has no jurisdiction. It would take at least some super majority to do so which they will not get, so all this rhetoric is just nonsensical and will have a high price with the public when it is known as such.
What CFK and Austral Elvis did was illegal and against the terms of the bond agreements.
It was solely for internal propaganda.
It will fail.
If they miss the Sept 30th payment they will be in cross-default and the holdins will accelerate.
Next year will be worse than this year.
Things are getting so bad and the end is so near that she has resorted to putting her fat kid on TV and going to see the pope. Nothing can save the country now. It will collapse. Peso at 20 by EOY.

she should either just pay the dam thing, or stand up, be proud and tell them all,
look we are broke, and cant pay, please send in the bailiffs.

I would feel more confident criticising Argentina had it been a European or Canadian Court. Uncomfortable as it might be to accept, US Courts are prejudiced against the foreigner, the foreign company and the foreign state.
@8
Argentina opted to use USA legal system, so whose to blame?
If the bathwater is too hot don't get in it. US courts aren't prejudiced they uphold the law whatever the country.
@8 What would be the point? Argieland ignores European and Canadian courts as well. Project for you. Research how many court judgements argieland ignores. It's hundreds.
As ever it is always faux-Marxism as 'the people' are no more equal than in a capitalist society. I guess no money Pepe makes some effort, but name me a 'marxist' leader that doesn't live in a huge palace and drive around in a big motor, with wads full of money hidden away so they don't have to live like their 'beloved people and equals' There are few Marxist leaders that are not megalomaniacs. Look at that twat who rules North Korea.
Well, I beg to differ in opinion with the group and completely agree with #8 Englander...
CFK's government is directly trying to service her nation's debt with honor, dignity, fairly and justice. Yet, despite all her good will and enormous efforts that have caused a brutal sacrifice of the Argentinian people, she is now being blocked from making payments to bond holders due to a carefully coordinated conspiracy led by Argentina's enemies, using their stooges including the International Monetary Fund managing director Christine Lagarde, Paul Elliott Singer, owner of the vulture hedge fund Elliott Management Corporation, and Thomas Griesa, a federal judge for the United States District Court. All carefully orchestrated by an unduly influential elite cabal that operates through many front organizations financed by the Rothschilds.
Cristina should learn from her errors and form a new economical bond issuing alliance, that will offer the confidence for future bond purchasers to know that their financial security is not in the hands of the outrageously corrupt American courts.
Imagine a new world order, with a international Andean bond assurance organization, made up by Ecuador, Bolivia, Venezuela and Argentina. Each member would cross collateralize each other's debt, and all legal issues would be determined at their organizational headquarters at Isla Margarita.

You are a totally dumb yank. You do not understand how bonds work. Repeat after me. The trustees do not have the names of the bond holders. They never have. The depositories have these. The trustees only pay the nominees. BNY has already written that the money is in Europe but they have refused to pay. They are a European bank and the yank judges order is illegal in Europe. BNY cannot refuse to pay because of the anti vulture laws. An English judge is going to tell the trustees they must pay or contempt of court. End of story. The people who are going to loose are the yank bondholders because their depository is a yank company. Their money is going to be stolen by the highway robber singer. Another yank Wall St banker robbing honest hard working americans. Not a new story.

There is one problem the resolution of which escapes me. Exactly how does Argentina intend to pay its obligations in USD? Will the bondholders - if is possible for Argentina to identify them - accept Argentina's payment method?
If I were to receive a cheque drawn by Argentina at this moment of time I would have to wait for the value to be cleared and in order for this to happen the funds have to be available in the bank on which it is drawn. If this is a bank in Argentina what guarantee have I that it would be paid. It is not going to work!
What may frighten Cristina as well are the Lagarde Gurkas, who constantly sharpen their Kukri knives, and my favorite stealth weapon: Singer Skuas trained to drop bomb fresh guano on any female entering or departing the Casa Rosada.
By the way, there are also numerous Medici, Vanderbilt and Rockefeller surnames in the Falkland Island telephone book.
I am not even going to insult you anymore hep c, you do that sufficiently so all by yourself. Argentines as yourself have an effective way of making themselves look foolish and incompetent without any help. That being said.....watch what happens when 9/30 comes. LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL .
We will just have to wait and see if an American incorporated bank will violate Federal district judges order.....let me think long on this..NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!! I really want to insult you but I will have to wait until you do it on your next post......hurry now!!!
Cristinita can sign any amount of her ridiculous beliefs into Law, she can choose to pay whoever she wants under her newly-established 'autonomy', but she will NOT be able to restore the lost faith in the Argentine. If her objective was to regain confidence of the international banking community, she'll fail miserably ...once again.
Fascinating about the Golden Fleece...
You obviously know that the Knights of Malta have a new consulate in Stanley and that besides the Vatican Bank, there also are banking branches from Monaco, San Marino, Liechtenstein and Andorra. (A group of Luxembourg banks are still waiting until serious oil production starts.) Perhaps you can confirm that the entire rumored Falklands Financial Centre designed by Sir Norman Foster, actually appears from the air as a penguin rookery.
Then, the actual military base has been camouflaged to look like a penguin rookery, replete with animatronic penguins on the roof? Absolutely brilliant!
