The PT has absolutely no scruples...besides using the government machine to promote Dilma DumboAss - at the cost of the taxpayer - they use the same tactics as the Nazis did....they spread lies about their political adversaries, try to create a climate of fear, and since they have nothing going for them, the general idea is to look good by tarnishing the image of their opponents.

The problem is also education and the lack of understanding of the general masses. Brazil is in recession, the country has limped along over the years under Dilma, while others in South America have leapt ahead. Dilma still has the audacity to claim that the poor economy is the result of the world economic crisis, what a load of crap is spun. How cannot a rational person see that Brazil should be doing lots better than what they get from the whacky PT. Yet the population have not quite felt the bad times yet, but signs are showing that it's turning on them now, and Dilma and Lula are pretending all is rosy while they have every finger possible plugging up the links in their dyke trying to make it into power at the coming election. These charletons get in again and Brazil is in for more misery due to populist policies which are not sustainable and will further deepen the hole that some party in the future will have to attempt to climb out of.

Well, well, Mercopress, the journal of record for Mercosul (not), has discovered that there are elections being held in Brazil. This can only mean that it is a slow news day in the 'Falklands'. That there are no lost puppies or cats rescued from trees in the Malvinas means that Mercopress can devote time to less important subjects - such as these elections.

So, this being the only article here on the subject, I will post 'that' campaign spot from the Marina camp:

Whomever wins this will be the advertisement that will be remembered, I think.

Emerging countries like China, India enjoying economic growth rate is about 7-8%, especially China having large surplus and huge foreign currency portfolio.
Brazil growth rate currently negative (recession) with fast currency devaluation, widespread of corruption in the government, Shame on Brazil and shame on Rousseff !

That is not the present reality here.

Quite to the contrary, Marina Silva is talked about as the better candidate.

The PT always bragged about being 'honest'....well, that was 'before' they got into power, in 2003. Since then they have shown, time and time again, they're the most corrupt party Brazil has ever known. Some might argue that they must be given credit for creating social programmes', for the “poor”.
These programmes, which later developed in to the “bolsa família” originated during the presidency of Fernando Henrique Cardoso, and the PT simply changed a couple of things and renamed it, claiming it as theirs... while the idea behind it is very noble - meant to help the poor get back on their feet, over a 2 or 3 year period - the fact it's a handout without the need of any commitment from the receiver, has made it 'early-retirement' for over 95% of its recipients ... and the PT has absolutely no interest in enforcing its original, “temporary” character, as it guarantees 30 million votes for them.
When the Plano Real was implemented by FHC in 1994, the PT voted massively against it in Congress....now that it's a proven success, at a recent political rally, Dilma DumboAss actually had the nerve to claim it was the PT's invention ....next, they'll claim they created the Earth...
On the other hand, besides their incompetence and the corruption they promote on all levels of government where they are the situation, the most negative aspect of their party philosophy, is the desire to transform Brazil into a giant Cuba, over which they will rule, omnipotent.
But getting back to the election, that Dilma is a Lulla puppet is no secret, with all the negative aspects of the possibility of another 4 years of PT ; Aécio, while probably well intentioned and more aligned with what Brazil needs now, is weak when it comes down to lambasting the PT.....and then there's Marina, who is a bit of an unknown factor, but appearing as a serious contender.

Lulla's 'gang' may even win the elections with dumboAss Dilma, in detriment of Brazil's best interests.....unless you live here, and are able to see the subtle government encroachment on personal freedom, as well as that of the press, don't pretend you know Brazil. Experiencing it, on a daily basis, is far nearer to reality than the Government's propaganda and concoction of beautiful images which lead the ignorant to believe everything is doing just fine...

The point of the article is that the 'field of battle' has been set by Lula. And that whomever may win there is no going back.

Hippy, no need to read the link...I had already seen that piece of news on the TV and in the paper. It adds nothing new to the sordid campaign that the PT is resorting to, and the fact that Lula is behind Dilma and that she is just his sock-puppet is not new either. The only reason that Lula has joined the fray, is because Dilma by herself, is too weak to win anything. Besides being incompetent, she will still have to answer for the Petrobrás scandal....poor little Dilma, she didn't know what she was signing......boohoo....
