The far-right National Front won its first ever seats in France's upper house of parliament, as President Francois Hollande's Socialist party lost its Senate majority. The left still controls the lower house, which is the dominant legislative body in France, but Sunday's ballot underlined the unpopularity of the president and the continued rise of the anti-immigration, anti-Euro National Front. Russia has been courting the European far right and now its pay-off time as these anti-European, pro-Putin nationalists start getting elected in some numbers.

Love em, or hate them, in the latest poll France out of the rest was the only nation that wanted the brits out of the EU,

So good news for us, and bad news for the EU.
    Enough said.

    3. Depends if the question was placed to French europhiles or not. If most of France wants to be out of the EU why would they not wish it for any other EU country??

The poll only asked if they preferred the UK to stay in or out,

    no idea who they asked,
but polls are polls, and apparently can be manipulated..
but one things for sure, this far right party seems to be gaining ground,
what ever their policies are, some seem to like em..

The problem the EU has is that the UK disproportionately pays 15% of the EU budget, I am sure they would love to see the back of us and the feeling is mutual, but who is going to pay the shortfall when we are gone?

My big concern is that the EU are going to end up practically offering the UK anything it wants to ensure that we don't leave.

@7 Sit back and watch the show, you are wrong in a big way, but don't bank on the UK being the first country to leave. I don't agree with Marine le Pen's policies, they are too right wing for me, but I would watch what happens in France over the next two years.

The EU is crumbling, the ideals of the EU parliament and their intent of an EU superstate is at odds with the what the people of the EU want who regard nation states as more important.

    Calm down, señor.
    You're getting too emotional.
When Catalonia gets its independence, do you think that they will stay in the EU?

    11' very silly aint you,
the main and only reason it has not collapsed is because it is being propped up by Germany , full stop,

the unelected president has his life long ambition to have a united states of Europe, full stop,

he was voted in, right over the head of Cameron, by France and Germany,

but it seems you know more than he does,

facts are my deluded friend,, he WILL get he united Europe or it will fail,
and this boyo will be a union without the British...
