The American Task Force (AFTA) sponsored by 'holdouts' NML in litigation with Argentina over sovereign bonds payment, revealed on Wednesday foreign accounts of Argentine public works contractor, believed to be involved with the Kirchner family businesses, Lazaro Baez, and showed a map with the money movement, allegedly committing the crime of money laundering. Hmm I wonder what Aces AFTA have tucked up their sleeve or is this just trying to call the Arg Governments bluff. Maybe they are trying to see who looses their bottle and runs, or will they cover each others backs.
It will be interesting to see what happens.

@3 - It is stolen cash at inception and therefore dirty. Once it has passed through a number of bank accounts and invested into real estate and the investment is then sold, the money has been laundered and hence becomes “clean”. Very simple idea.

Well if we have to pay the holdout, this is the best way. Argentina is never going to recover the stolen funds on their own. (Too much corruption).

Anyhoo, I said long ago the game NML will play is to embarrass the regime and tighten the noose. NML is smarter than the corrupted hag and her filthy minions. They've only been doing this for what 2 months? I can't wait to see how this rolls out over the next 6 mos.
By that time the noose may be sufficiently tight CFK will be like a rabid dog on a short leash. Barking, Biting and snarling at everyone and everything.

Who cares what they call me. I am a skip and honestly proud of it. I think it is endearing that foreigners go to the effort of discovering and using terms of endearment and identity.

But Voice's logic is off again.

“The only state that could prove money was stolen is Argentina....”
No one has to prove it is stolen.

“So...it's not money being squirreled away by Govt or Govt officials out of the country....”
It might be. Just because it returns to Argentina doesn't mean that it wasn't kept out of Argentina. You have made an unjustified conclusion there.

Money laundering isn't always stolen money. It can be ill-gotten money.

Money laundering is a process. Proving that doesn't take the approval nor cooperation of the Argentine government.

As to the result or reason for chasing this?

Well someone is laundering for a reason. Cutting off that ability will obviously have an impact and repurcussions somewhere.

The money isn't in a world tour for the hell of it.

Funny thing about RICO assets. The indicted conspirators often forfeit them rather than prove the source and in doing so identify their unidicted co-conspirators and the related felonies used to obtain them. If Singer can't attach and seize the loot as the assets of rotting roadkill in a civil action then US can go after them.

You have to know what is being said and what is alluded.

This is a *clear signposting* that the money is being conflated with and is part of the flows of drug money out of South America.

It is also *clearly signposted* that the American mafia are managing the money once it arrives in the USA.

If is true - and there is no reason to suppose it is not - Singer et al is saying to all that are willing to hear :
    - 'This is CFK and Argentina moving way beyond acceptable behaviour; she and the country are as evil as the mafia, and her government is hand-in-glove with the big worldwide international crime syndicates.'

Lots of discussion about the blue recently and a lot of dummieheads that still don't get it. The blue is a mechanism to convert/export pesos to US dollars via the rotting roadkill stock market and a series of short term in and out transactions purchased with pesos and liquidated in dollars. Clear? The blue tries to move with the Merval. The Merval has been bouyed by world markets but is driven down by the action or threat of action by rotting roadkill. Cretina's realignment at the banco and the prospect of new regs for the borsa are reflected in the downward spikes. To exacerbate these pressures, rotting roadkill's productivity is now experiencing a marked downturn. So much so that the micro fundamentals are now beginning to overtake the market impulsion the would otherwise be present due to the incendiery pressure of inflation. So000000 - look for some see-sawing but overall downward trend until vacation time. Then maybe an 18-20 peso arbolito.

Let me see if I have this right...
The Ks (both) buy state land for pennies on the dollar and then build hotels on the land. Baez pays for hotel rooms that remain unoccupied. The money gets sent out of Arg to be laundered and some is returned to Baez, some kept by the Ks.
Now how did Baez get the money that he used to pay for the hotel rooms? Government awarded contracts, favorable deals, etc? Perhaps that portion of this money that the Ks kept is not property of the republic of Arg, but it sure will incriminate the Ks and Baez in corruption which may ultimately lead to attacks on title to the hotel corruptly acquired hotel etc properties which should revert back to the state.

Also this email was sent out to all financial big wigs at IDB, WB, IMF etc:
    Dear Colleagues:

Moody's Investors Service is maintaining its negative outlook for the Argentine Banking System.

Argentina has been in an economic recession since first-quarter 2014, and the default on its sovereign debt in July has further dampened investor and consumer confidence.

Since 2011, the government has implemented a number of measures - such as foreign exchange controls and import restrictions, caps on lending rates and fees, mandated lending requirements to targeted economic sectors, and restrictions on lenders' dividend payments - that have exacerbated business conditions and weakened the banks' financial strength. The recent decline into an outright recession raises the risk of further government pressure on lenders to stimulate growth by making credit more easily available.

No I don't understand borrowing for half a life time...how does that work...?
Is it something like..you borrow 500k and the interest per annum is 3%...so 15k..but maybe you pay back 25k per annum to pay the interest and reduce the capital amount...? So year two you owe 490 k plus 3% interest on that...
    Is that how it works....?
If so that's a lot of debt....hope you enjoy that commitment...

Mine was a different way, while you were traipsing round the country peddling your wares as a rep, half your time travelling...I was working like fcuk all hours...buying cheap, adding value...selling dear...hence I have no debt...

Voice, You and the Think persona are never right about anything.

Go to any US based financial planning web site and figure out if its better to pay cash or get a 30 year mortgage under 3% whether its used as an investment or as a personal residence. Use the top tax bracket and you'll see that no matter what price the property is it is always better to have a mortage on it.
The reason you don't understand this is because you are not eligible to get a mortgage since you're foreign, don't have income or you have bad credit. My guess is its a combination of all 3.

I am very secure in the knowledge that I am correct. So if you can prove me wrong I dare you.

Think and Voice are definitely reflecting the society they have to survive in. They cannot understand how you can make money by borrowing and investing in property in a country with a stable economy.

It really is not always best policy to pay with cash for something like a house. If your money is invested elsewhere it could be making a lot more money than if it were sitting in property. There are many other factors, not least the ability to offset tax.

No one is suggesting buying a bottle of scotch with a Wonga loan. That would be foolish indeed.

Has anyone noticed Kickitoff seemingly changing the stance to ‘we will be paying the holdouts’ and TMBOA softening her tone as well?

It seems that NML has instructed to tell TDC that they have written evidence as to who, when and where the money came and went, so to speak. They have a number of the high ranking scum actually named and unless they are paid the names will be published and the evidence produced.

This is set out in Clarin and makes fascinating reading. Link on the sister article.

Yeah keep looking. Consensus is growing that Griesa's awkward attempts to get the vultures the 100 per cent of their junk bonds' face value are an embarrassment for the U.S. because they put in risk any debt restructuring process around the world. Even the IMF is beginning to speak out on that. Don't you think the 124 countries who voted in support of the Argentina's position is just posturing. As I said, keep watching as Paul Singer's carefully manicured scenario begins to show all its rotten insides.
