I will praise Argentina IF and WHEN they make this method available to the world or has this already been used elsewhere, any comments?

    This whole story is ambiguous.

In one sentence it appears to convey that Argentina has developed this brand new method for detecting Ebola, and you have to wonder just how they've actually tested whether it works or not considering that they've had no actual Ebola patients to test it on.

Or is it that Argentina is actually using a WHO tried and tested method for detecting Ebola, which is implied further down in the story?

However it is good that they are boosting their health defence against this deadly disease...but I wonder just what protective equipment and clothing they are using as none of the WHO approved kit is made in Argentina, and we all know that Argentina won't import items unless they export items to the exact same amount.

And what has Argentina got left that people want? Soy? Doubtful.

It was developed there in malbran institute.
I think It used to take at least 72 hours to detect that disease before.
I hope they do their job and effectively control the borders.

Sorry. There is one thing that we can be sure of. Argieland ALWAYS lies. It LIES about everything. It lies about its history. It lies about the Falkland Islands. It lies about the war. It lies about its responsibility. It lies about compliance with law and the UN Charter. It lies about its debts. It lies about repayments. It lies about its responsibility. Its “president” says she's a lawyer. Why are there no records of her qualifications. Another lie. She has, at least, millions and makes 'legal declarations'. More lies. EVERYTHING about argieland is a lie. So stuff this 'method'. It will probably kill you. Pay very careful attention to argieland's antecedents. Home-produced genocides. Nazi 'experimenters'. Nazi killers. Back to home-grown killers.

”The center managed to design a “primer” that allows the (( Genome of the Ebola virus to Multiply )) if it is found in a blood sample or other bodily fluids“
....”with the help of genetic material of the virus sent from a reference center of the World Health Organization (WHO) ”
All they needed was a sample...not a case...

Interesting that WHO is not reporting this validation. This coming from a country that had skilled healthcare workers die from the Avian flu in 2009? Maybe they will produce a better therapeutic treatment than ZMAPP. Better yet a vaccine.

I think the whole point of the article is that they don't have to send the sample to CDC in Atlanta for confirmation they can do it in the country now.

If they get it they're screwed, the health care system is in total collapse now. I can't imagine what would happen if they found a case. Probably panic in the streets.

What are they going to do take blood samples from everyone entering Argentina to see if they have Ebola?

OK. So all they have to show for is five cases of NOT Ebola. That is actually not really evidence that it works. I saw no evidence in the article to suggest that their new method actually detects Ebola...

Elaine, we are doing just fine without Argentina's yet unproven “ help. ” This is just grandstanding on the part of Argentina, who I might add received Mr. Bah flying in via Morocco, and doing nothing, before he transited on to Brasil.

Today, our health experts returned a NEGATIVE FOR EBOLA finding for the suspected Ebola patient, Mr. Bah. Not the poorly funded public heath services of Argentina.

If anything our healthcare specialists could, and probably will help other nations in the region with this problem, including bankrupt Argentina.

Who cares who is first in South America to have a test to detect the ebola virus.

Surely the important factor is that every country should be able to run the tests.

One problem is the virus can have a long incubation period of up to 21 days, before any symptoms are shown.

Anglos: you mixed all, mixed politics with health, that is silly, Argentina is a regional leader in molecular biology.

MALBRAN INSTITUT is an institution of research in molecular biology respected worldwide: The Malbran Institute, with the help of the World Health Organization (WHO), which provided the necessary genetic material, developed a rapid diagnostic method for Ebola virus. The new method can confirm or rule out suspected cases within 24 hours.

I hold shares in British Gas.
Argentina owes British Gas approximately $244 million.
Those familiar with the British Gas case say Argentina has no chance of changing the outcome of the legal decision, but the country remains litigious and is still fighting the ruling. Alex Yanos, a partner at Freshfields, the firm representing British Gas, confirmed that Argentina has refused to make payment.
Pay your debts. Pay me, you lying scum.
    Re:
Paul Singer should wait until after December when RUFO clause expires..
Why? why 'should' he wait? He won the court case. The nation of Argentina is in Contempt of Court. Criminals get punished and are forced to pay their debt to society, and any outstanding bills.
You, Hernan, are now considered a criminal. I don't trust criminals.
    Re:
ebola on Malvinas (sic), if you meant The Falkland Islands I am sure adequate provisions are in place and transport would be arranged for those sick to be isolated and the UK and Chile would provide support.

What's the issue? Surely you are protected by an ocean and some mountains? Will that keep you disease free?
Didn't help the indigenous people that you claim to be a descendant of. 8 million died from 'conquistador' disease. Maybe 8 million Argentines will now die of an 'african' disease, because you do not have the science, educated health-care professionals, technology or infrastructure to cope?

    oh wow!
Is this the first time paul-carrion (vulture food) has commented on an Argentina based thread this year? amazing!
    :-)
Yet, he still uses it in a weak attempt to bash the Brits?
He even goes to the effort of finding and article from the BBC, (who he often disparages), from 2012, 15 October 2012 to be exact!
Well here is an article about Buenos Aires pollution from 2012 also...
Pollution in river basin choking Buenos Aires
Near Argentina's capital, years of growth along the Riachuelo river basin have gone largely unchecked. As companies flush heavy metals into the water, residents are being forced to suffer the side effects.

Judith Aragón tries to use as little water as possible from her tap. She's not obsessed with economizing: She's simply weary of the source.

Judith lives in a shantytown called Villa Inflamable just south of Argentina's capital, Buenos Aires. It's located on the edge of the Riachuelo, one of the most polluted river basins in the world.

Judith Aragón is concerned by the pollution in the Riachuelo
The mother of three is supplied with treated bottled water by the local municipality for drinking and cooking. But it isn't enough for personal hygiene. For that, the family has to use the river water that comes in via the tap.

That water is, in a word, filthy.

“The Riachuelo can be seen as a microcosm of the environmental problems in the cities of Argentina,” says Leandro García Silva, an Ombudsman specialising in environmental human rights. “The Riachuelo as a river is absolutely overloaded with contamination as compared with its size - it's a small river with a big city around it.”

@9 If a primer has been created, this would indicate that it is a PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) based test rather than immunological. It really depends on how the virus mutates as to how effective the primer (and therefore the diagnostic test) is - we'll see. Clearly if it is helpful then it should be shared - particularly with Brasil

Did you mean the poster @ 55, YES, you did.

And yet again you are WRONG about the age limit for flu jabs in Britain: it's 60 and it's free.

Uruguay give everybody who wants a flu jab one free of cost and it is administered by the government using local clinics as the base. Best jab ever, never felt it.

What is it like to be WRONG all the time?

Like most humans, I am wrong some of the time, but ALL of the time, never. We do acknowledge that, according to her, TMBOA is NEVER wrong.

It must be an argie thing: perhaps you two should “get together”, nod nod, wink, wink. I am going to stop now, the mental picture of that is just too gross.

Having been in S.Africa and seen violence at first hand, I have to disagree.
Rules for travel by road in S.A. NEVER stop to help anyone on the road, phone the police and let them deal with it.
I stayed in Vrieheid, in KwaZulu natal, with friends, in a largely white neighbourhood. The day before we left, a young white lad had been assaulted by two “blacks” who demanded his gold necklace charm. He handed it over but they proceeded to stab him anyway.
Every house had bars on all windows and notices about armed response teams in event of burglaries. In addition, everyone seemed to have a guard dog on their property. Ours was a Rotweiler and I saw Rhodesian Ridgebacks who could tackle a lion. It is also common practice to have a firearm in the glove compartment of the car.
We were also told that if we saw groups hanging about at traffic lights, to go straight through, even at red.
Another rule was, NEVER walk to the shops...take the car.
I have friends who missed their flight at Jo'burg and were put up in a hotel in the city. The desk clerk would not allow them to walk across the road to a shop. They had to take a Taxi and then return in it!! A distance of about 100 metres return.
So, I'm afraid that it is Mr.Slack's brain -whoever he is- that is slack.

Paul, I don't know anyone with a private guard in front of their house or that lives behind a 12 gates in the USA. That's very common in Argentina.
Also I don't know anyone who's been kidnapped or even robbed at gunpoint.
That happens all the time in Argentina.

I had 2 guards one in the front and one in the back and a live-in armed driver when I lived in Argentina. That's common and needed in that sh*thole.

The main reason I moved back to the USA was due to the insecurity. It was getting very dangerous and I can't imagine its gotten any better.

I like to be able to walk without fear day or night anywhere I want. I can even wear nice clothes, carry a bag and a wear watch while I do it. Gasp!

You'll never know what its like to live in peace. You have to worry about opening your door every time the bell rings and watching your back as you walk down the street.
Its one of the reasons Argentina is doomed to fail.

    Get off your high horse.

Argentina makes sensational claims, yet no practical help is forthcoming, even for their pals and neighbours, the Brazilians, even when the crisis is immediately upon them.

Argentine claims have the appearance of just that - grandstanding!

And at time when Argentina is really in need of some prestige and positive publicity, this appears to merely exploitation of a tragic situation.

Given the political circumstances, one can quite rightly expect their claims to be questioned.

Argentine Trolls like Paul Cedrone respond with their standard, insults, whataboutery, and condemnation of US/UK societies.

Dragging in murder rates, and Malvinas etc., have nothing to do with the Ebola cases - that's pure distraction on your part.

The US is effectively dealing with a confirmed Ebola case in their own country. Canada is developing what appears to be an effective treatment for some of those infected.

Speaking as an arrogant German, I'm going to arrogantly quote myself from another thread and come to the defence of our very own US Airman.

I'm extremely impressed by US Air Force's posts. The United States military has often in the past been criticised for its insensitivity towards foreign cultures, but here we have a yank who has succeeded in absorbing the Malvinista mindset as if born to it. It’s all been there in one post or another: the unquestioning acceptance of 1833 mythology, the all consuming sense of Argentine victimhood, the rejection of any responsibility for anything, the spite, the bile, the hatred, the fervent delusion that everybody else in the world shares the neurosis, and the touching belief that the Chinese, the Russians, the Venezuelans, the United Nations, the hermanos latinos, the UK taxpayer, somebody, anybody is coming to the rescue and nothing in the mindset needs to be challenged.

It’s truly impressive that somebody has mastered all this thousands of miles distant from the culture and education system which nurtures and perpetuates it.

Gosh, it's all changed in the USAF, these days, with this new-found emphasis on Advanced Argentinidad, up to and including the origin of ship wrecks off BA. I wonder if the syllabus at the School of the Americas has changed or something?

Anyway, I guess I'm old hat, but I'm frankly surprised you know so little of a major NATO ally where even with this apparent new Opening to the South, a USAF airman might legitimately expect to find himself serving. But let me help out, anyway.

In fact these days you'd be hard put to find a bona fide goose-stepping Kraut anywhere in the old homeland. The real diehards legged it long ago to more conducive climes, such as Argentina, for example, where inter alia Mengele and Eichmann were welcomed with rosy garlands and open arms. Indeed some would say that their influence persists to this very day!

But even had the Old Guard stayed back in the old homeland, I'm sure they'd have recognised there wouldn't be much need to invade Greece to get their monies back. The Greeks are a proud, honourable people making strenuous efforts to pay their debts off. You won't find many of them trying to wriggle out of their obligations by claiming to be in the same bracket as Liberia and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. They're far too dignified for that.

The origins of the Niesund name, by the way, aren't in Germany but rather in music hall.

Funny Hans Fueher, funny how I found 3 in very short order in the US claiming that it was completely Jewish propaganda, telling me that their children were being bullied in the US because of what the master race did. Many of us realize, allies today, frenimies today and enemies tomorrow. I even found your kraut buddies in podunk places and they try not to even conceal the fact that they are goosesteppers.

“you cannot “change” the government until the mandate finishes.
you cannot have an early election like in italy.”

NOT TRUE according to your OWN Constitution, but you have NEVER read it have you?
    “CHAPTER lV
    Powers of Congress”
    “Section 75.- Congress is empowered:
21.- To accept or reject the reasons for the resignation of the President or Vice-President of the Republic, and declare the need to call a new election when required.”
BUT: TMBOA can under Section 76 run the country as a Dictatorship for as long as she likes:
“Section 76.- The legislative powers shall not be delegated to the Executive Power save for issues concerning administration and public emergency, with a specified term for their exercise and according to the delegating conditions established by Congress.
The expiration of the term foreseen in the previous paragraph shall not imply the revision of the legal relationships emerging from the rules issued as a result of the powers delegated by Congress.”

So, you are not free if TMBOA desires and there is fuck all you can do about it except rise against her and take the punishment if you lose.

AH, there we have it! COWARDS, the lot of you.

The syntax alone of US Air whatever proves he is not from the US. Every body here makes the odd typo, such as an accidental spelling mistake, my humble self included, but this?
“and they try not to even conceal...”
Sounds very much like a poor translation of Spanish than naturally flowing American English. Or the English language in a previous era.
These trolls should be aware that some posters here have benefited from excellent levels of education in English Language & Literature.
They above phrase is reminiscent of the Bronte Sisters, not modern usage.

the key word there is “resignation”.
    you understand that, no?
in spite of the fact that i hate kirchner, the thing is that we have to wait until her mandate expires.
any other thing your crazy brain can elaborate, would be an institutional setback.

unlike artur más, we respect the constitution here.

If the Argentines protested loudly enough. Frequently enough. For as long as was necessary. Then they could force her to resign if it was obvious that she no longer held the mandate of the people.
Unfortunately this requires rigour, determination, commitment and quite possibly self sacrifice for the common good.
All of which appear to be severely lacking in Argentine society. Thus making the people complicit in their own demise.
Until they learn to take responsibility for their own future they will remain abused by people like the K - gangsters.
They did to learn that there is no messianic figure coming to save them. They must shake their apathy from themselves.
This is why I don't even pity them anymore. Their own inaction is their complicity in their downward spiral.

    134. While I was living in Argentina I had to go to a Hospital/Clinic 4X. Each time the Hospital was worse than the one previous. Everything was very minor, sand in my eye from the horrific winds in MDP, a bug bite that made my leg swell from the jungle in Missiones, giving blood and the other was water in my ear from scuba diving.
Every instance was scary. The Hospitals were filthy, pealing paint, scary 1950 horror movie type equipment, but nice caring docs.
I would never, NEVER, NEVER, go to a Hospital there if I actually had something bad.
Although the Docs were nice they don't have access to what people in the civilized world would consider to be standard practice. Especially now that they can't afford new syringes, gauze or gloves.
    No thank you.

this from the Troll who writes, “I'm playing the long game...”

a direct reference to your attempts to deceive and mislead other posters.

From the same poster who creates elaborate fictions about travelling and owning property in the US, as an attempt to create controversy and direct attention towards himself.

Same for the “guess where I am, in Scotland,”with the fictitious Dunoon address and stories about neighbours.

Yes, he does come across as quite angry doesn't he.

    Where do I start.... AGAIN!

First off, -ise or -ize. Australia and New Zealand are probably the only two main English speaking countries where -ise is the only correct spelling and extremely dominant. Even the UK uses -ize at time and Canada fluctuates between the two. There are pages and pages on this on the internet and shallow observations on this site regarding this spelling means nothing.

So Voice has rehashed all this again. I answered it all here:
    http://en.mercopress.com/2014/09/22/a-third-of-argentina-s-population-vulnerable-to-falling-back-into-poverty-says-world-bank#comment354436

I work 3 days per week or 21 hours. I am studying 3 subjects this semester that entail 10 contact hours: APBL10003, APBL20045 and GEOG20008.

As for me never having been in the UK, you have never proven that. I lived in the UK for 2.5 years. I can describe in details the four places that I lived in Colliers Wood, Acton, Marleybone and Isle of Dogs.

Of course I don't know where he lives. Why should I? We're meeting at a cafe in downtown Vancouver. I won't have a car.

I'm confused, are you saying that Troy is my sockpuppet? Or that I am his? And you accept that I am in Australia?

You fling around accusations like a monkey with poo - it is hard to keep up.

Ask the questions and I will answer them. But no, I won't give you my name.

    APBL10003 Visualising Environments
    Lecture: Monday 1.15-2.15 - 1 hour
    Studio: Monday 2.15-5.15 - 3 hours

    APBL20045 City Futures
    Lecture: Thursday 12.00-2.00 - 2 hours
    Tutorial: Thursday 10.00-11.00 - 1 hour

GEOG20008 Inside the City of Diversity
    Lecture: Monday 9.00-11.00 - 2 hours
    Tutorial: Thursday 11.00-12.00 - 1 hour

You have NEVER tripped me up because I don't lie. I have classes on Monday and Thursdays only. I work Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.

My subjects for Semester 1 next year?
    ABPL20034 Urban History
    ABPL20037 Urban Design Studies
ABPL20035 Cities: From Local to Global
    Plus a Spanish subject.

I will be consistent. Bookmark this and then test me after semester starts in March.

I do work on Saturday mornings at a second job in Williamstown. But that is emergency coverage so is rare. Yes, I usually have my weekends off. I've only worked about 10 Saturdays this year.

As usual, you haven't proved a thing. I will patiently await your future vain attempts.

    Still making ASSumptions about me.

“...but the course information says 16 hours per week.....”
Yes it does. Directly under the heading: Contact hours (FIRST YEAR)

I am not first year. First year subjects (first digit is a 1) are four contact hours each. But as you will see from my list above, I am only doing one first year subject and 2 second year subjects. Hence less contact hours.

You will also note that I am only doing 3 subjects - while this is considered full-time, a full study load is 4 subjects.

“...but of course you are so clever you can do the 3 year course at 10 hours per week and still get your BA....”
    Another ASSumption.

Where did I ever claim that? It is a 3 year course FULL-TIME. I expect to complete it in FIVE years. First because I am doing a concurrent Diploma in Spanish which adds a year and also because I don't study 4 subjects per semester - though am going to try next year.

I will have completed 9 subjects by the end of this year but will get credit for 2 over summer in Mexico - so will have completed 11 by the time I start my third year. Most students would have completed 16.

So I should be finished end of 2017. 2016 will be spent on exchange (currently I like what I see at Querétaro in Mexico) and the first half of 2017 will maybe be spent doing volunteer or charity work somewhere if I can get sponsorship.

“How ever do you accrue 3 months holiday...part time ...holidays would be on a pro rata basis...”
Another ASSumption. I am a contractor.

As I have said BEFORE. My work is giving me the time off and I will come back to the same job after my holiday.

...if you think for one second that you can create a throwaway login for anything associated with that company, then you are terribly naive...it will link you to anything that has ever come from your IP or any IP you have used....
Now stop trying to deflect and read the firstly part of @200...

Yeah that made no sense. Everything tracks you on the Internet, including Mercopress. If you think that your information is private because you shy away from sites like Facebook then you are even more naive that I first thought.

As I said, give me a site and I'll use that instead. A site you trust and I can't control. You continue to make accusations and ASSumptions but seem to always fall back when I accept the challenge of disproving them. As I've said before, you're extremely anti-climatic.

Any site for pics with geo tags and I'll post (as long you can post from an iPhone).

Also I'm not in the land of Fourecks. XXXX is a Queensland drink and I'm Victorian. I'm in the land of VB. And that's not Victoria Beer as it is sold in UK, but Victoria Bitter.

“but you have multiple accounts...I have always said so from the beginning and it turns out I was right”
I've never claimed otherwise. Though considering your logic I should have lied about this fact. Interesting that I didnt. Multiple accounts does not equate to multiple names. Unlike you I've only ever used one single name on here. .

“Troy Tempest is a puppet that is a fact”
That is your belief and as far as I can see, no one else's.

“it's my guess it's your puppet”
That's a non-sequitur. Very sloppy and extremely lazy.

“he uses British English and not Canadian English”
What's the difference? So far it is only your opinion that he does. What English do I use?

“but he's not a Brit just like you”
But he uses British English and...... do I? But we aren't British according to you. This paranoia of yours is awfully convoluted.

“Will be looking forward to you using Instagram on your travels from Vancouver down the Yankee coast to Mexico”
Umm yeah. Ok. Why? What point will that prove? This seems to be the moment for your AH-HA but I'm failing to see it.

Oh how I wish typeface could truly represent a sigh!

    Voice. What deflection?

I have heard of Terry Pratchett, however I am not a fan. (pics posted of some of my book collection). So why should I have heard of “Fourecks”?

I mean, seriously, how many Aussies would know what that is? Whatever it is, I am sure it is a play on words for XXXX - a beer from Queensland.

As for the differences between British, Australian and Canadian English - they all differ from each other. Australians do not spell everything as the British do. I have been aware of this for a long time. Again, you keep making leaps of logic based on nothing.

Are Troy's and my spelling and use of English the same? C'mon put it out there instead of insinuating. And what form of English are we using. Because Australian English is most certainly different to British, not just in spelling but in vocabulary.

“you know fine well that Aussies use UK spelling”
No we don't. We use many UK spellings but not all. Extremely facile understanding of the differences.

As for Troy posting on Instagram..... what good would that do? I mean think about it numbnuts, you just said you would never login so you would never know. You set a challenge that you have already failed at.

“Sooo..I guess we won't be following your Instagram trail down the coast....”
Please don't make sh!t up. Where did I say that? C'mon for someone who is so anally pedantic on spelling and use of words, you just made some sh!t up.

    Didn't you!

I never said I won't post pics. I just fail to see what it will prove. You have just discredited Instagram as a medium to prove location but now it is manna from heaven? I'll post pics.... indeed, you now know my itinerary, so tell me what pics I should post and I will take photos when I am there. I'll even login into Mercopress and have my iPhone in the pic to prove it.

The thing with you A_Voice is that you don't prove anything but just make accusations and insinuations and ASSumptions.

“Secondly it isn't the Victoria Street Market but the Queen Victoria Market or the Queen Vic. ”
    It's on Victoria Street ergo....
Soooo..tell me all these common English words that are spelled differently in Fourecks....
The UK was inundated with Castlemaine XXXX...pronounced FourX for years...
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RcgkSSQvVQg
Pratchett's Fourecks was his Australia on the Disc World....
...Brits obviously got the word play straight away....

Your English is exactly the same as TT...well it would be, it's your puppet and you will not convince me otherwise, so live with it....

So to any Melburnian the Victoria Street Market and you will get a blank look..... anyone! Do you know how long Victoria Street is?

I got the Fourecks analogy instantly, hence the reason I replied using XXXX. You are making a point out of nothing here as I got the word play.... you seemed to miss that.

    Mmmh British and Aussie English
    Spelling:
    Program
    encyclopedia
    pajamas
Just off the top of my head.

    Different words:
    Togs
    arvo
    chook
    lollies
    footpath
    truck

What's a schooner? Who is a bluey? How is it possible to love and hate magpies? Flake is what? My joint means what? When can coon be used in polite company? I see people wearing thongs at uni all the time! What is a nature strip?

“Your English is exactly the same as TT...”.
I'll take your word for it because I have never looked closely. Go back and prove it. No use looking at our posts right now is there.

“it's your puppet and you will not convince me otherwise”
Sign of a closed mind, but hardly surprising considering how much you have failed recently.

    “so live with it....”
Seems it is you that has to live with it. I'm quite unconcerned.

Didn't I once also login under True Blue? How many sock puppets do I supposedly have?

You can't make up your mind. Am a student? Will I travel?

I mean what am? Because only you keep seeing these things.

Every sign of a closed mind, that Voicey.

I know you have to stop in at the uni while you're here.

Perhaps you could post some pics and post them geo linked on Face Book?

I fail to see what it will prove, but at least Voicey won't have to login.

He can compare your photos to these

Well it's Monday and last week of semester.

Four major assignments due so A_Voice (who has needed so much time to recover and reply) will have to do with you this week Troy.

I just don't have enough time to login to two accounts and post under two names. Just one. Bahahahahahaha

Anyone else think its weird some posters are up to 1-2am on here?

That is if they're really where they say they are..

I still want to know why he cares where somebody is and who they are?
Why does it matter so much?
I think its a sign of mental instability.
    A sure sign
