    well, you shouldn´t.
try with any argentinian premium wine instead, and you will never buy that chilean brew again.

Chile and Argentina ! Casablanca Valley nectar vs Medoza dishwater, no contest. British tourists always get a warm welcome in Chile vs burning tyres, rocks and attempted intimidation in Argentina. So, no contest Chilean wine in my wine racks and Chile the preferred SAm destination for a pleasant break. Boloudos please note. Looks like trade will continue to grow as well as friendship and cooperation. They may make conciliatory statements to keep their bonkers neighbour subdued but they obviously don't mean it by locating this event in the worlds leading financial location and the worlds greatest city.

Communist swindlers. They've scared the businesses and middle class, with the peso pretty much in freefall they jet off to london to shake down people that don't speak spanish and don't know thatcher's history with this crew.

    no?
    then, why would they know?

    well, no you nabous.
trading with china, india or brazil is great news.

Why should I support Argentinian wines in preference to Chilean wines ?
I have tried some ARGENTINIAN wines in the past in the same price range as Chilean wines, I preferred the Chilean ones as they suited my taste. It does not mean that they are any better but that I preferred them.
Anyway, Argentinean wines are scare on the supermarket shelves.
Obviously the buyers get a better deal from Chile. However, I will try wine from almost anywhere. I usually end up buying Australian or S. African wines as they are to my taste.

Poor Argentina, Chile gets an invite to the British Foreign office and the red carpet rolled out and an entire day named after them in one of the worlds two Alpha ++ cities and all Argentina gets is summoned.

There are a lot of states in the U.S. that Argentine wineries can no longer ship to due to a change in the law. I use a wine merchant in Mendoza and received an email explaining this, though I live in the U.K. I like the wines I ship from Argentina but buy far more from South Africa and Chile because they are better value for the quality. As any wine maker will tell you, the best wine is the one you like.

“the best wine is the one you like.”
    no.
if you cannot appreciate the basic features of a good wine (sweetness/ dryness, acidity, tannin, fruit and body) you´d better try with another beverage.

    12 whining nino

listen to the boy psuedo wine snob giving us the benefit of his vast experience.

Elaine, like many other informed and experienced wine lovers, is politely telling you that she prefers Chilean wines or others, because Argentine wines are not worth the money - there is better elsewhere.

Voting with their palates and fortunate to have a variety of choices. Do you?
Thats rhetorical - you can lie to us, but not yourself.

BTW, your government isa doing your wne industry no favours.
Crashing Peso - cost of supplies UP, returns are down as they try to compete on price.

Its nice that you are so patriotic, though. *pats Troll on head*

Some people like dry wines, some like sweet, some do not like red wines because the tannin disagrees with their metabolism. People have different tastes, most people like cucumbers and say it has a delicate taste. To me it overpowers anything else served with it. It has an overpowering metallic taste.
That's just because of the reaction to my taste buds.
It's the same with some red wines. I can detect ,to me, unpleasant flavours that others don't notice. I have had some tastings of really expensive“great wines”
which I didn't like. I have met a few wine ”experts in my time who chose the wine for the label and in blind testings got it wrong on occasions.
Same with whisky, it's full of bullshitters waxing lyrical. I knew the chief blender at Johnny Walkers and saw him regularly when I worked there.
He could tell you a bad whisky but his advice was if you like it and it suits your palate that's the best one.

    toy
of course i am almost an expert, like any other argentinian, french, spanish or italian with good taste for wine.
that is another advantage of being born in a country where there is a culture for cuisine et vins.
england and the islets on the other hand...

and do not mix politics with this issue, you nabou triste.

    clyde
agree that the price has nothing to do with the quality in many cases.
now, to tell that all the argentine wines are like dishwater as that moron @4 said, is nonsense.
surely the poor thing never tasted an alta vista terroir, andeluna, etc.

anyway, listening to those morons criticizing argentine wines is like an argentine criticizing scotch whiskies.
the scottish are the ones who know about that matter.

Just “being Argentine” does not make you an expert.
That usually takes intellect, education, and experience, rather than arrogance and ego.

“Viva Argentina ”, if that makes you feel better.

Minister Swire should be glad there is no “Argentina day”, and there will NEVER be, as friendly relations between us will never again reoccur.

I mean think about it. What would be left for Swire to say? Let's imagine a Mercopress article here:

”The minister also pointed out to the excellent relationship and friendship between the UK and Argentina that can be traced back to sending you John Whitelocke in our attempted invasion, subjugation, and extermination of your incipient nation two centuries ago and mentioned some facts supporting those links (a prior attempted invasion in 1806, an attempted blockade in 1819, meddling in the Cisplatine War, our attempt to take away your territories and rivers in 1845 alongside the French, our attempts to ban you from Antarctica, our efforts to undermine your economy, etc, etc)...”

Doesn't sound that cool, does it.

Only absolute imbeciles like the last two posters would say that stating the obvious (history itself), is whinging. Yet THEY bleet, whinge, moan, howl, bewail, and ululate non-stop about the Falklands War which happened almost 40 years ago, and they won actually. Imagine if they had lost!!!

Yet Argentina cannot point out that it is Britain tha has always been the aggressor in all hostilities and belligerent incidents before that one???

    Imagine if they had lost!!!

    NO CHANCE !
Ululating is not a British method of expressing either joy or sorrow.

I do recognise bleet, whinge, moan, howl, bewail, as Argentinian characteristics
as can be demonstrated in B.A. before/after the Falkland's war.
