Oct 23rd, 2014 - 08:58 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Europcar Car Hire in MVD uses the small Chery and I was looking forward to driving one before we took delivery of our new VW. I must admit I thought the wife might like one, it was after all a pretty little car.
Within five minutes of leaving the airport I soon realised what a disappointment they were: no power, didn't drive in a straight line / weaved on corners. Checked it out next morning to find out all the wheel nuts were coming loose due to the machined angles being different to the wheel spring cones! What a basic error and why wasn’t it found before I drove it?
Then bits started coming off it to be placed in a cardboard box for when the car was returned. After a week I couldn’t stand it anymore when VW contacted us to collect our car. They very kindly agreed to take the car back for me and promptly put the thing on their delivery truck because after they found out all the problems they wouldn’t risk their driver.
TATA have gotten LRJ sorted after giving the management more or less free rein, something they never previously had. It would be a real pity for it to get worse again.
