Sweden becomes first EU country to recognize the State of Palestine
Sweden has recognized the State of Palestine, the country’s foreign minister has announced, making it the first European Union country to do so. The 130 other nations that already recognize a Palestinian State include Hungary, Slovakia and Poland although these three countries took this step before joining the EU. Read full article

I do hope Sweden asked permission from the EU Commission before this announcement, independent thought is frowned upon in the EU.

Good move by Sweden. It is ridiculous that Israel has occupied land for decades committing people to statelessness.

If Israel laid down their arms they would be massacred, no doubt about that.
If HAMAS laid down their arms there would be peace.
The Palestinians made their decision; THEY need to do something about it. Executing every member of HAMAS would be a good start. It is the only way to reach a political solution.
Once they are masters of their own destiny building bridges with Israel and STICKING to the terms would be another.
Without something of this nature Israel, rightly, will never trust them.
Well done Sweden!
