By R. Viswanathan (*) - The reelection of President Dilma Rouseff means continuation of the slow growth of the Brazilian economy and a lower likelihood of much-needed, major political and economic reforms. India should lower its expectations on a global partnership with Brazil. Read full article

South America and the BRICS should receive all the attention of Brazil. The liberalization of trade with these nations has been happening gradually and continuously. We only need to adjust the speed.

Europe and the US are not trusted to do trade and business.

Brazzo the problem is Brazil's speed is backwards and you continue to crap on that Brazil actually makes a difference. Protectionism is a fact of Brazil rather than trade liberalization. Even this Indian is explaining that Brazil is on a slow track to nowhere presently.

Major CRIMINAL RAIDS ongoing this morning against ...... ( wait for it ) ...........PETROBRAS, and it's contractors, and PT connections.

300 PF officers, 50 tax officers, have made 11 raids in in the cities of Rio, Sampa, Recife, MG, with 18 arrested so far, according to O Globo. The investigation has been ongoing for 10 months.

Assets for 36 individuals of R$ 685 M ordered frozen by a Federal Judge.

Of note is the fact that charges include the laundering of R$18 B (as in Billion ) in kickback fees, and the conversion of said kickback fees into drugs, and precious stones.

It is a shame that this action did not happen during the election.

Fbear, are you listening ? This was not as you alleged a “ Veja ” smear campaign based on lies.

Good job PF. It's only just begun. Keep up the good work !!!

Pertrobas is stinking more so everyday. Investors are dropping shares like dry skin on an eczema patient because now there are delays in reporting results due to ....corruption.

“Seeking shelter, many investors have been buying dollars. In
a fourth straight session of losses, the Brazilian real
slid 1.36 percent to a session low of 2.6289 per dollar, its
    weakest since April 2005.”

The PT has lost quite a bit of clout in both houses of Congress...and even their main ally, the PMDB, isn't so fond of them anymore. To get an idea of the PT's idea of governing, have listed a few of their achievements :
1)Poor people in Brazil didn’t used to get into University. What did the PT do ? Invest in education? No, they made the entry exam easier.
    2) Blacks still didn’t manage to get into University. What did the PT do ? Improve the quality of public middle-school education ? No, they destined 30 % of the vacancies in public universities to blacks, who don’t need to take the exams.
    3) Illiteracy is enormous. What does the PT do ? Teach them how to read and stimulate reading ? No, they redefine ‘literate’ as anyone who can write their own name.
    4) Poverty is rampant. So what does the PT do ? Invest in jobs, stimulate growth and entrepreneurship ? No, they lower the poverty line and consider anyone who earns minimum wages as middle-class.
    5) Unemployment is increasing. What does the PT do ? Create jobs ? No, they consider anyone who is receiving a handout , or who has given up looking for a job, as employed .
    6) Public health services are terrible. What does the PT do ? Invest in hospitals and health infrastructure, and create more schools in the field of Medicine ? No, they import a bunch of Cuban doctors who don’t even need to revalidate their medical degrees - as demanded by Federal Law - to prove they are in fact, real doctors. One of them has already been identified as a captain of the Cuban army, and has no medical degree.
The only thing the PT seems to be good at, is stealing....but now they've been caught with their hands in the cookie-jar (Petrobrás)...
Can anyone, in their right mind, even doubt that the PT government isn't made up of crooks , and just one big lie ??

E o quê sua merda de direita faz? Aumentar juros? Vender nossas empresas e nosso país? Corromper com o DEM? Aumentar a dívida pública com o aumento dos juros?

You are a complete dickwad Brazzo and you should give your address so I (a gringo) can go around and torch your house. This would be the most humane way to deal with a wanker like you.

This is too bad. In spite of my disapproval of Obama, I think that Obama and Neves would have worked really well. As long as Brazil has a President and Cabinet that believes the United States to be the Devil, there won't be any significant progress in trade. Again, too bad... both countries have a lot to offer each other.

    @9
não consegue lidar com a verdade ? hein, seu petista de merda, bolsista ignorante. E o escândalo da Petrobrás ? é tudo mentira , não é ? seu pobre idiota....
Just telling the Brazzo that he can't handle the truth...see@8...and as far as the Petrobrás scandal is concerned, he probably doesn't believe a word if it. His only defense against the truth is an even bigger lie...
