    The chicken...?:
State Sponsored Propaganda already hanging at the hospital, schools, public offices, many a private home AND the Victory Bar in Malvinas..:

Personally, I'm for the egg, myself. It's such a typical Malvinista logical contradiction, insofar as Keeping Calm and Malvinas Argentinas are mutually self-contradictory, and indeed intended to be so.

Hmmm which came first the chicken:

    1) the first recorded landing and sovereignty claim by the British in 1690

    Or the next chicken

    2) the British population in Port Egmont in the 18th century

    Or the next chicken

    3) the British population on the islands for the last 180 years

    Or perhaps the egg

    1) 6 weeks in 1832 where a 50 strong crew of the SS Sarandi arrived on the islands hoisted the Argentine rag of a flag, murdered their Captain Esteban Mestivier and raped his wife in front of their children, before the 50 (According to Argentine National Archives) were evicted within 6 weeks.

Hmmmm...no mention of those (the only relevant) chickens and eggs.

As Think was so kind to point out.

British sovereignty is proven by the people that live there.

Argentina's sovereignty is proven by..... er.... a sign on a bus?!?!?!

Eerm.. Wonder if Stink dares to put such a sign on his house in Dunoon, or on the back window of his car, or dares mention his twisted logic in the Combined Services Club? Don't Think so!

In reality everyone knows that such pathetic gestures draw howls of laughter from us Brits which make sad brainwashed Malvinistas like Think look stupid and impotent. This ranks with the kayak invasion, hasty retreat from Tumbledown, pathetic Malvinas Museum and bands of tyre burning thugs as a pathetic icon of Cristina and her band of cynical thriving crooks.

Major correction to post No. (5)

British Colonial occupation of the Falklands Islands is proven by the Brits having placed the islands on the UN list of Non Self Governing Territories. It's precisely this which ensures the inhabitants right of self-determination against the colonial inheritance claimed by the claimed colonial successors of a former colonial claimant.

Surprised UK govt decided to respond. Does it really matter that Argentina wastes its time and money on something Argentines in their heart of hearts don't really believe.
Better to concentrate on helping build up the Falkland Island infrastructure in preparation for when the oil industry comes to town....and of course keeping the Islands defences in a high state of readiness....just in case.

You made it our business in 1982 when YOU made a cowardly attack on the islands, leading to the deaths of nearly 1000 people. YOU planted unmapped minefields (against the Geneva convention), YOU used civilians as a human shield, YOU defied a binding UNSC resolution ordering you to leave...

So, until 1982 this ridiculous Malvinas religion or cult could be ignored, but after your disgusting act of cowardice (costing 650 deaths of your own undertrained military), it is OUR business.

It was only an act of pity that made US stop at removing you from the islands, and not a full scale act of retribution.

Thank your lucky stars Paulcondom, that we pity you....we really pity you condom, we really do!

@10. Surely such signs would amount to incitements to ignore and/or breach international law. Argieland has NEVER successfully proven that it has any right to claim sovereignty. A simple examination of the FACTS. Argies often like to start with the papal bull 'Inter caetera' in 1493. Conveniently forgetting that no other country, except Portugal, ever accepted the 'bull' as valid and that the church has dismissed it. The subsequent Treaty of Tordesillas is equally invalid. Argies also like to claim that they 'inherited' the Falklands from Spain. Unfortunately, 'inheritance' isn't a legal means of acquiring territory. Moreover, Spain didn't accept argieland as a 'country' until 1858. Every single argie action up to and including 1858 was, by definition, illegal. There were no further official argie incursions until 1982. A useful, but expensive, event that finalised British sovereignty. Because the international legal principle of 'uti possidetis' applies and overtakes everything else. Argieland is revealed as a pitiful little country with delusions of imperialist colonialism by theft.

Would anyone be surprised that argieland proposes to 'progress' and achieve objectives by criminal behaviour? Of course not. Argieland has been criminal since at least 1946.

It is noteworthy that argieland has more psychiatrists per head of population than any other country. A subconscious understanding that they aren't really human, that they carry a massive burden of justified guilt, that every day of their lives is filled with shame, that they lack attributes such as credibility, honesty, integrity. What a horrific situation. An entire population unable to tell right from wrong! No wonder there is so much anxiety. Imagine knowing, deep down in your psyche, that you are actually worthless.
Just look at pablo @16. Four lies in one sentence. And then it's on to empty threats and pitiful insults. Can anyone imagine an argie fleet capable of stopping A British warship? Not possible!

Or will the owners of the vehicles and tranport facilities be forced by police to put the signs up on their own account?

PaulCedron. You do like to talk with some authority for the rest of the world. I'm never quite sure whether to be irritated or to feel embarrassed for you. You don't really understand International Politics or History or Economics. You have a highly over inflated opinion of the importance of Argentina and you combine that with a total ignorance of the nature and capabilities of the United Kingdom.
I offer you this free advice.
    1. The Argentinian claim to the Falklands is legally invalid, historically false, politically weak and most fundamentally it's morally wrong.
    2. There is no guarantee that the future for Argentina is going to be any better than your past. The true strength of a nation is built not upon it's natural resources but it is instead built upon the talents of it's people. If you keep electing stupid leaders you will always always lose. Just once in a while it may be beneficial for you not to keep taking the stupid option when it comes to making economic or political decisions. I had hoped that there would be some sort of Social Darwinism at work in Argentina and a survival of the fittest rule would lead to improvement. Instead we seem to have a political evolution based upon survival of the most populist and the most corrupt.
    3. The perception that the UK as a nation is on a one way path to decline and that this decline will inevitably lead to the return of the Falklands is an illusion. Again my point that the true strength of a nation being built upon the talents of it's people is pertinent. The UK economy is growing and will be Europe's 2nd largest in 3 years. We're not declining absolutely or relatively. The UK is going to be a bigger beast on the world stage than Argentina for a long, long time to come. Argentina may always come 2nd to the UK.
Paul, with this in mind I'd recommend that you find a more rewarding, less frustrating hobby than the Malvanista cause. Honestly it's a little bit of a silly hobby to waste all your time on.

@paulcedron,so Argentina being a land of immigrants is somehow different to The Falkland Islands being a land of immigrants-Explain like I was a 5 year old and while your at also explain why Argentines are incapable of electing any one person who is not corrupt and ends up being sued or a accused once they have left office,is there an answer or is it just that your country is indeed as once described by your close neighbour Uruguay as a country of THIEVES and LIARS.

The Argentine gov't is only trying to keep the folks' eyes away from their unfit handling of the economy. The Arg. peso keeps falling and the inflation in Arg. has become a big problem. They try to manipulate the worth of peso against the dollar with the outcome that even hotel maids are paying tourists nearly twice the official rate and hoarding them.

As for tourists … most could not care less about the Falklands.

So rather than pay it's debts, or improve hospitals, schools, roads and security, this insane government is throwing money away on useless propaganda that will only 'fool' a tiny portion of the population (like PaulCedron), and will never achieve anything except to make Argentina look more and more like a dictatorship similar to Nazi Germany...except nowhere near as competent.

    Pay your debts, deadbeat Argentina!

@47. I don't understand your final sentence. We did defend what we have, rather successfully, in 1982. We continue to defend it to the extent of 1200 ground troops, 4 combat aircraft, a tactical transport aircraft, a tanker aircraft, 2 SAR helicopters, 1 offshore patrol vessel, 1 visiting warship and, possibly, 1 nuclear-propelled submarine. What more do you want?
@51. Then you should think. The tone of your comment suggests that you don't reside in argieland. Why not? Which comes first, you or your 'country? If you want things to change, you have to be there. If only for your vote. And you should care about the Falklands and imperialism. Because then you'd be able to say that Britain doesn't do imperialism any more, but argieland is trying to. And you'd be able to see the harm that argieland is trying to do and to whom. Where does argieland think it gets the right to refer to and treat the Islanders as sort of 'untermenschen'? You started a war and lost it. That should have been the end. But your 'country' has proved that it cannot be trusted. If you really want things to change, you have a lot of work to do!
@56. An interesting point. Is the argie 'government' throwing money away? Or is it telling other people to throw their money away? One assumes that there will be prosecutions, fines, costs etc for people that don't display the signs. Will the signs have to be produced by a government-designated printer. The possibilites for screwing money out of people would seem to be endless. What if the lettering is in the wrong font or is the wrong size?

    Another limp, impotent gesture by Argentina that will, as people have said. waste a lot of money which could be spent on more pressing need in Argentina -and once again it only serves to bury Argentina's head in the sand to what they need to do if they really want the Falklands by foul means or fair;

    1. Persuade the Islanders that it would be a good idea to be Argentine.

    2.Go to the ICJ.

    3. Invade and capture the Islands using military force.

Next there will an Argentina law making 'Malvinas are Argentine' screensavers compulsory on all phones and computer screens.

And will it make their colonial ambitions more likely?

    Not a chance.

It is rather insulting to the Argentine people believing that signs on public transport will convince their people or tourists that the Falklands belong to them.

It seems that the Malvinas cult must be full of total retards.

Happy for their government to waste millions of tax dollars on stupid road signs and posters

Happy for their government to waste millions of tax dollars on stupid presentations and bribes to MERCOSUR, Unasur, SOREANUS, and various other Latam joke organisations with no power to do anything.

Happy for their government to waste millions of tax dollars making stupid and repetitive presentations to the C24, the corrupt UN organisation supposedly representing the populations of the NSGTs.

Happy to watch their government humiliate itself on the world stage, bribing one failed state after another to back their ludicrous claim, but then lose key UNGA votes and be absolutely no nearer gaining sovereignty of the Falklands.

However despite this happy clappy indoctrination, they never ask the two really really simple questions:

-Why does their government never approach the ONLY UN organisation empowered to give guidance on sovereignty disputes. Even though the UK would be under no obligation to follow said guidance, it would be a powerful weapon in the Malvinista argument?

    - why do the islanders not want to be Argentine, surely the millions wasted over the years would have been better spent convincing them?

The meagre impression seems to suggest ignoring her and she will go away,
Ones merely suggesting, that we could be a little more robust abt it,
Every time she or her ministers sprout such rubbish, we should publicly ask for them to prove it,
Making them look rather silly on the world stage, than they are now,

And yes Argentina has nothing but popcorn to throw at us,

When you think about it, ruining Argentina with scruffy signs everywhere has no impact whatsoever on Britain. Tourism numbers are falling in Argentina and will continue to do so. The messages are there to brainwash the Argentines and that is all.

in spite of all the shit kirchner is doing, the fact is that international tourism is increasing here a lot.

not only because it is pretty cheap considering the blue dollar, but also because only in argentina you can visit the biggest waterfalls in the world, or the biggest glaciers, the collapse of the glacier perito moreno, the whales of puerto madryn, arguably the best ski centers, the best architecture of south america and the list goes on.

and if you like polo, (i know none of you are very fond to sports, but anyway) buenos aires is the place to be between september and december.

You're right. Over the past 65 years the Argentine governments have always resorted to creating external factoids, larger than the internal problems, just to distract public opinion. I was in BA a few months ago, spoke to a lot of people - from various lines of work - and not one defended CFK or her disastrous policies. I would think that it's the noisy minority that openely defend her, but then where is the silent majority ?

@64 I agree that Argentina has some natural beauty but numbers of visitors are falling. Iguazu is the fourth largest in the world, I have been there and it is worth a visit but you can do it in a day from the Brazilian side also. The glaciers too are stunning but can be seen from Chile. The best ski resorts? So, speaks a man who has never visited decent ski resorts. Seriously, the Argentine resorts are not all that and I have skied in many countries. Whales can be seen in so many places, as can penguins.
Where do you get your information from? And you miss the point.

During the month or so that I have been here in Chile I have met actual tourists, PC, that have come from Argentina. Do you know what they all had in common? Every one of them had been the victim of some crime whilst in Argentina. Mugged in the street or scammed in a taxi. None seriously hurt but all wishing they had known how at risk they were there. By comparison Chile was, as one couple put it, 'heaven'.

As the economic situation worsens in Argentina so will tourism decline.

Sounds like most of those things were done when the USA/UK ran Argentina.
Got anything worthwhile in the last 75yrs?

The other little problem, most of those were not commercialized so there's no income to the country.

Argentina has only 24 patents issued in 2011, 2x than Sri Lanka and 3x than Bermuda.
    Bahahahahahaha

You are right about Finochietto and Raul Paters Pescara, but way off the mark with Lazlo Biro. He was Hungarian, and invented the first biro pen in 1931, patented it in Paris in 1938, and only in 1943 did he and his brother emmigrate to Argentina. So, not invented by an Argentine, nor even IN the Argentine.
As to a couple of your other claims, such as “As for modern commercial radio, you know WHERE the first permanent broadcast was aired on August 27, 1920?”
Ok, it was in Argentina, but WHERE is IRrelevant …what matters is WHO invented the radio ? Marconi, and he was Italian……not Argentine...or can't you tell the difference ?
“As for modern screw caps that are sealed and you can twist to break the neck off, know where they were first used?” First of all, you don’t “break the neck off” the bottle, you moron - well, maybe YOU do - you break the seal on the screwcap, to open the bottle. As to WHERE they were first used, the 'modern' screwcap (Stelvin screwcap) was developed in the late 60's by a French company (La Bouchage Mecanique), and was first used in 1970 with a Swiss wine. It was adopted commercially in Australia in the mid 70’s, and it was Australia and New Zealand that put it on the map as far as the wine industry is concerned. So where did you get the notion it had anything to do with Argentina ? Why are you such a stinking liar ??

The fool was getting all excited recently that some hotels had bidets. As if that were the height of modernity, and Argentina was leading the way.
That no other country in Lat Am, or probably the world had them.
I think he must have seen one, or a photo of one, and got overexcited.
    Bidets! Modern! The latest thing!
Umm.... not for the French I'm sure.....

    T'was funny.
I have only just stopping giggling about it.
