The PA should keep well clear of the arseholes in Mercosur.

It will only end in tears for them if they do not.

And so begin the new history of South America ...

Before the end of the first half of this century South America will be a single federated country. It will be the largest country in area, and possibly one of the most prosperous and richest in the world.

    Viva la Patria Grande!

    Yeaaaaaah no it won't.

35 years! Mercosur has been around for nearly that long and hasn't amounted to much at all.

And if you think that South America will move beyond idiotic movements like Chavismo and Peronism and get a standard of living and infrastructure equivalent to the EU then you are more uneducated than you have come across up till now.

Never mind the quality look at the width..

Some of these statistics are meaningless. What is happening to GNP per capita in the countries that participate and how this is affected by the programs of these organisation is a better measure of success.

It has to be said that in principle, it is entirely possible that could happen.

However the reality on the ground says that it is not very probable it will happen, certainly not in that timescale.

In Venezuela, the people are struggling.

To return to Bolivar once more, one of his most famous quotes was from his deathbed “ to govern Latin America is to plough the sea”.

I may have paraphrased slightly there, but you get the idea.

    “... ay, tenemos la patria....”
    *yawn*
People in Vnzla use this as 'joke phrase' , or 'taking the pisss' as the English say...
Everyday, when there is no chicken/shampoo/hygiene paper/rice/Breads*/anything,
(*delete as appropriate today, after the 3hr queue...)
they say, ... pues, 'aun, hay La Patria...' with a dark sense of humour...
Desperate sense of humour, may I say....

    Ilsen,

Do you live in Venezuela for part of the year? Or did, perhaps?

    @14 Ilsen,
It's hard - and easy, at the same time - to believe that people can be so stupid as to shoot themselves in the foot - or both feet - and carry on defending the shit that causes all the problems. The irony of it is that they are the first ones to get shafted by their incompetent, corrupt governments.

This was just a charade without future. The chilean fat lazy lady wants to come along with her friends of the stinky corrupt mercosur bringing the PA behind her. Hopefully bussinesmen community in the Pacific side of S.Am is not blind to stick to phased out policies and all the ebola associated to mercosur.
