To what extent do Argentina think that they can control the foreign policies of other sovereign governments. Who do they think they are, the European Commission?

Bahahahaha. Its an open secret that both Chile and Brazil secretly support Britain and only make meaningless noises to the Dark Country just to keep them quiet. If push came to shove, just like in 1982, Britain would recieve logistical support from our friends in South America. Who wants rotting roadkill as an aly?

Another nail in Argentina's coffin; the idea that it has real, substantial support for the 'Malvinas cause' from its nearest neighbours; remember, this is a cause not just for the whole of South America but for 'world peace'! These Malwhine retards are just too funny.

There are only four impediments to Argentina's Malvinas claim: it's false, it's irrelevant, nobody cares, and it's pursued largely by offensive fuckwits.

This is a good illustration of three of those.

Argentina has reduced itself to being that drunk that shouts and rants and raves in the street corner as everyone goes about their business.

People sometimes acknowledge or even nod or maybe smile. But they really don't give a shit what is being said.

Congratulations Argentina. You're the town drunk.

As I have said here before, the statements of support for Argentina's claim that come from Chile's representatives at regional forums is nothing more than a balancing act.

I like the analogy of “the town drunk” given above @5. We just give him a few coins or the occasional drink so that he doesn't scratch our car while we are about our business in town.

You have to wonder about argieland's desperation. It wasn't that long ago that an RN warship was refuelled by a Chilean tanker at sea. Clearly appropriate to practice 'underway replenishment' when 'latinos' like argieland and spain propose providing Russia with port facilities and refuelling its warships. And then Brazil had to ask the British armed forces to come down and show them how to get off a boat. No doubt Colombia, Guyana, French Guiana and Suriname would do the same. Why is argieland bothered? For the time being, an RFA vessel could head off to Africa to take on fuel. Or RAF Voyagers could fly fuel in. How close are the Falklands to being able to supply the RN?

Looking at this article it really does show that the whole of the so called “government”, including opposition, are so up themselves over the mythical Malvinas that apart from getting rid of the 15M Peronistas from the population what on earth can be done?

Executing the top 10,000 Peronistas in federal local government would soon have the others denying THEY have ever been, or will ever be, a Peronista.

    Simple really.

The problem is of course, apart from the drug gangs and the mafia, WHO would take over?

This may be all true, and enjoy the gloating.

However, what the UK will never ever have again, is good relations and friendship with Argentina. Pretty ridiculous it will be, the UK having vigorous and active trade and exchange with all nations from Alaska to Bolivia, and down a strip to Puerto Williams and in an enclave at Montevideo... but having forever a glaring whole in the southern 1/3 of the South American continent where they will forever remain persona non-grata.

I'm sure you will all now respond that it doesn't matter, that you have Brazil, Chile, and Uruguay, and Honduras and St Kitts, but at the end of the day, it will stand as a symbol of the fruits of the UK's treatment of Argentina for 200 years. Argentina is off limits for both the government, and its population, like a scar that remains and never will go away.

“but at the end of the day, it will stand as a symbol of the fruits of the UK's treatment of Argentina for 200 years. ”

This is pathetic. Tell us of these grave offences by the UK against Argentina. Let me guess:
    - The attempted invasions [against a Spanish colony during the Napoleonic Wars]
    - The reassertion of sovereignty over the Falklands Islands by kicking out a few trespassers.
    - Aiding France in a blockade designed to limit Argentine support for the National Party in the Uruguayan Civil War.

These are nothing compared to the countless wars fought between nations (c.f. World War II) which are now put aside. Limiting ourselves to Argentina these actions are nothing compared to the War in Paraguay.

Don't hide behind some pathetically distorted version of history where you try to paint the British as some kind of monsters in their relations with Argentina. Face it, you're nothing but a deluded nationalist, like many others in Argentina.

    #18

I think you'll find the EEZ of the Falkland Islands extends to the mid point with Argentina or 200 nm (whichever is smaller).

Not nationalist, a xenophobe. And officially from now on I call myself that.

    Xenophobe, and proud.

The EEZ is not British territory, just exclusive interests. It is still international waters and you have no power to forbid any one else from sailing through them so long no illegal exploitation of resources is occurring. We do on the other hand have the right to ban you from our ports, because that is within the 20 kilometer actual maritime border, and a port is fully considered landmass.

Fair enough to both parts, as a sovereign state those are Argentina's prerogatives. However, given the trade surplus you have with the UK and Argentina's current economic situation I can't imagine anything actually happening (e.g. banning UK flagged ships, or ships en route or actually from the Falkland Islands).

Argentina needs the UK more than vice versa (as evidenced by your trade surplus and the aid you receive from the UK via the EU).

I also note that failed to answer my question about the grievous harm the UK has done (or does) to Argentina, except other than to your pride. I would say that the UK and Argentina have historically had a much better relationship than most countries in the world, despite an attempted land grab in 1982.

Those days are long over, we can all agree. And with Europe too, remember how Argentina used to always venerated France, Italy, Germany, Spain. We have grown up as a nation, and now I will make sure anyone I come into contact with develops the same disdain for foreigners as I have here.

The surplus may hurt but briefly, remember it's only some 700 million which is what, 0.3% of GDP of 400 billion? That's just a blip.

While the surplus is only 0.3% the actual value of exports is much higher. You could argue you could find new customers but things don't always work like that.

I've explain those too many times before. It really doesn't matter anymore, I've fought the good fight trying to enlighten foreigners on their deeds, you people won't change. It's time to move on, and I will do so by boycotting both the foreigner and their goods.

I hope other argentines will join me in the good fight. These are the product I will begin with banning from my pocket book:

    1. Jamon IBERICO Pata Negra (ESP)
    - replacement: Mendoza cured wild boar strips

    2. Bunnahabhain Single Malt (GRB)
    - replacement: Mendoza homestyle wine-barrel oaked dry Grappa

    3. Giorgio Armani apparel (ITA)
    - replacement: La Cuna Masculina Hommes apparel

    4. Yves Saint-Laurent pour Homme (FRA)
    - replacement: Fragantica de Kosiuko

    5. Weihenstephaner Heffeweizen (GER)
    - replacement: Andes Cerveza Mendoza

    6. Havaianas (BRA)*
    - replacement: custom-made local make

    7. Soprole Jugos (CHI)
    - replacement: naranjas tucumanas

*I normally could not buy due to lack of sizing anyway.

I hope this inspires all patriotic Argentines to begin changing and saying to the foreigners, you no longer matter to us.

    Regarding Argentina's EEZ fantasy,

In the delimitation of maritime area arbitration between Canada and France, Canada invoked the primacy of non-encroachment and proportionality to try to delimit the EEZ around the islands of St. Pierre and Miquelon, 2 French territories close to the Canadian coast. The Court found that France was fully entitled to a seaward project of 200 nautical miles EEZ along a corridor.

'It is a well-established practice, accepted as law that title over natural resources is to follow that over territory, accordingly, the sovereign subject enjoys the exclusive right to dispose of the natural wealth of the area it exercises sovereignty.' (UN Stockholm Declaration 1972, principle 21 & UN Rio Declaration 1992, Principle 2, Declarations on the Human Environment).

I find this whole article rather amusing, simply because Juan Carlos Zabalza keeps tying himself in knots, trying to make an opposition point whilst not offending friends and allies, whilst trying to keep his own political career on track, AND subscibing to the prevalent cultural norms.
If he read this, I expect he feels he had rather stayed in bed that day.
Cisneros is gulity of this flim-flam too.

Firstly, Zabalza wants the answer couched “ in the framework of Mercosur and Unasur”
I thought Mercosur was a Trade Organisation? hmm...
Why doesn't he demand the respective Ambassadors of Chile and Brazil are summomed? well? why not? What his he scared of?
Secondly, we have Cisneros saying that on one hand the Royal Navy is assisting Brazil ('good'), but on the other hand the Royal Navy maybe assisting the Falkland Islands ('bad').
Huh! Well, which is it? And when does the Royal Navy cross this invisble line?
Then we have, ”not in my book. some-one else's book' blah, blah!
What a load of old codswallop.

Finally, what the Royal Navy does, or does not, do in international waters is of no concern to Argentina. Equally, the involvement the Royal Navy has, or has not, with friendly countries such as Brazil and Chile is their business alone.

I find it amazing that the Argentines expend so much fruitless effort on a lost cause. I'm quite sure the rest of Lat Am wishes they would just STFU.

Is not a fruitless cause. Sure the Falklands recovery itself is, but what it IS doing is keeping you British far far away from Argentina! And that can only be called “a good thing”.

The UK should just accept the will never have any dealing with Argentina again, and just get along with it. Most nations love you so you say, but you can't have us again. Live with it, none of you are visiting Argentina again and feeling welcome.

What utter caca! Britain is home to thousands of Argentinos and their countrymen also contribute to tourism numbers in the UK. Britain also welcomes sportsmen from Argentina who make their homes there.

And I see that Buenos Aires recently welcomed the Rolling Stones in a most unique way. There are ties that go back to the independence of las Provincias Unidas which will never disappear and the unique contribution by Britain to the economy of Argentina in the late 19th and early 20th century will never be forgotten.

If Argentina truly wants a resolution of the matter of the Falklands/Malvinas then take your case to the International Court of Justice which is the ONLY forum able to make a TRUE and LASTING judgment.

    @46 Georgy the Greek
“The UK should just accept the will never have any dealing with Argentina again, and just get along with it”.

What makes your wee brain think that the UK, or any other countries for that matter, need Argentina ? What does Argentina produce and sell that cannot be supplied by other countries ? the answer is, unfortunately, only “useless, brainwashed Argie Trolls” .

Maybe but it won't fly over the Falklands unless it's your white national flag you flew in 1982.

Nice to have two national flags isn't it?

    Lucky you.

    Multiple IDs?

Please show proof that I have posted under different names at the SAME time.

Ask for the names I have used on here and I will tell you. Have I pretended to be someone else? Did I try to hide the use of my former name when posting my Instagram account?

Seems you didn't realise you were replying to someone who has had more than 20 different names on this site.

My god the Argentine education system is producing a generation of fecking idiots. Lucky the country doesn't need educated individuals to farm soy and build cars.

I can certainly assure our dear Argentine brothers that we convey the same candor, respect and cooperation as they themselves do to Chile as well, with only one exception; their naval officer's mess.
There have been past rumors of Chile assisting the Royal Navy, but I can assure you that we would NEVER vilolate our mutual friendship by providing assistance to those terrible English pirates that occupy the Malvinas. Please, take my personal assurance, we treat our Argentine brothers as they themselves treat us.
