Brazil's government is wrapping up a financing plan for Petrobras aimed at ensuring the scandal-hit state-controlled oil giant can obtain the funding it needs for its massive investment program. Read full article
”The plan would involve the sale of bonds backed by Brazil's Treasury and 9 billion Reais (some 3.46bn dollars) that state-controlled electric utility Eletrobras owes Petrobras for fuel purchases.”
So Electrobras wasn't paying Petrobras for the electricity it had used.
Just like TMBOA hasn't paid Uruguay for the electricity it has used and is STILL using and the stupid fucking government are still supplying it.
Vasquez will sort it: he'll be out of money otherwise. 'No Money Pepe' managed to spend the money Vasquez left him in the treasury last time AND give away millions to the lazy 'poor' NOT to work.
Oil prices fell 50%, in Brazil the price of gasoline and diesel rose by 5%.
Even with the devaluation of 21% of the real against the dollar, Petrobras in a few months will cover all previous losses on fuel subsidies granted by the government.
@3 Ilsen,
That's another, separate scandal. Who pushed for the unnecessary payment to be made ? who authorized It ? Lula and Dilma, respectively.... but with all the shite presently on their plates, it'll take some time before they get around to it.
@2 Brasshole
No you a.hole, gas prices will not drop. Already feeling the pinch at the gas station, are you ? Good !
And your optimistic forecast that Petrobras in a few months will cover all previous losses on fuel subsidies granted by the government, couldn't be further off the mark.....Petrobas may even start to make a profit, due to the elimination of the subsidies on fuel, but it will take years to wipe out the accumulated losses.
Get real you ignoraNus.
thanks JackB
keep me posted please, I have an interest in this. Allegedly it was in the region of USD 4 million.
Of the brazillian people's money, invested in a foreign political party's campaign.
Hardly the best use of profits from a nationalised entity?
Who authorised this? I really want to find out.
cheers
