The European Union is a disaster and is just not “united” nor ever will be. Given this example, Ibero-America is even more unlikely to achieve “union” in any endeavour.

I lose track of just how many of these talking-shops they have in Lat Am. It just seems to be an endless round of summits and conferences. All with no actual outcomes, just more of the same.
Glad to see the Pacific Alliance breaking away from this nonsense.

@3. Have to agree with you. One would have thought that the Organisation of American States was quite sufficient for anyone's purpose. But they had to have unasur because Canada and the United States are members of the OAS. But here's the good bit. No sooner had they created unasur than they had to create FIVE sub-organisations and TWELVE ministerial councils. Plus another THREE institutions. No less than TWENTY new bodies. What do they find to talk about? But it would explain why there is never an outcome. Too busy rushing from one meeting to another. But I expect they all get their 'expenses' paid. And they'll have to fit in time for shopping. Ladies to help them relax? Or perhaps boys? There'll be a lot of back-slapping, congratulating each other, praising whoever hasn't had any praise in the last week. There's another article with argieland praising Uruguay for its support in the 'Falklands dispute'. Haven't read the article yet but why would you praise someone for doing as they are told? Or is it a form of self-praise that their threats work?

“Almagro's chances could be limited despite the international reputation Uruguay has achieved under President Jose Mujica.”

Ha, ha, ha, to the power Googol. Note the accolade can be read another way!

I really hope the argie rent-boy Almagro gets the job because we will be rid of him at last.

Dovena will have to find some other arse to ream. I know: ROSADILLA, the UYU senator with the argie medal for ‘fighting’ in the Malvinas war even though he was in a jail cell throughout the conflict but he WOULD have fought, oh yeah.

Thank you President Barack Obama and Pope Francis, for your leadership. All countries of America (from Alaska to Tierra del fuego), appreciated and will recognize his leadership forever.

Today December 17 is a day that will live forever in the memory of Latin Americans.

Beyond, that many of us in Latin America not share the Cuban ideology, Cuba is an American country and should return to their roots, along with the rest of the countries of America, beyond ideologies, sitting at a table where all the American countries put forward their opinion.

Now the challenge is to the Cubans themselves, hope in a future free elections and multiparty. Cuba should relax its political system towards new horizons, more democratic and flexible. The countries of Latin America has a fundamental role in this last item.

NOW THE ONLY DISPUTE WHICH STANDS IS THE MATTER FALKLANDS / MALVINAS. THE UNITED KINGDOM MUST HAVE THE GREATNESS TO START A DIALOGUE, ONLY THAT, DIALOGUE, NOTHING MORE.

A NEW AMERICA IS EMERGING FROM ALASKA TO TIERRA DEL FUEGO, LONDON TO GIVE ACCOUNT OF THAT.

OTHERWISE, THE BRITISH ISLANDERS WILL BE THE ONLY PEOPLE IN ALL OUR GREAT AMERICA, ISOLATED WITHOUT BEING ACTIVE PARTICIPANTS OF OUR LIFE AS AMERICANS

NOW AT THE MEETING OF MERCOSUR, HERE IN ARGENTINA, ALL COUNTRIES OF THE REGION (INCLUDING CHILE) ARE EXPRESSING, JUST RIGHT NOW, THE UNRESTRICTED SUPPORT FOR THE QUESTION MALVINAS AND VULTURES FUNDS TO ARGENTINA.

FALKLANDS / MALVINAS, FROM TODAY AND LAST GREAT CAUSE OF AMERICA, WE LOVE YOU AND WISH YOU AT HOME, BEAUTIFUL, RADIANT AND VIBRANT AS YOU WENT SOMETIME.

AMERICA WILL NEVER BE COMPLETE WITHOUT YOU.

The Falkland's were never part of America
    and it never will be,
so your empire building will just have to be confined to mainland south America,

how abt starting with the French in south America, and stop being so anti British and childish.

Don't confuse diplomatic relations with trade......nor Cuba with the Falklands.
