Next, dogs will have the “ right ” to wear fleece jackets in winter and a haircut ion summer. Just a thought.

It takes a rather peculiar society to recognise the human rights of orang-utangs while denying the Falkland islanders have any.

I think animals can be treated with care and respect without giving them 'Human' Rights. I don't know what the laws on animal cruelty are in Argentina. Do you have any? Are the enforced? Can people treating animals cruelly be prosecuted and banned from keeping animals?

I know Argentines are animal lovers, you just have to see from the number of dogs everywhere, I just wish they would pick up the dog shit.

You can introduce any animal rights law you wish, Argentina is a free country after all (thanks to Margaret Thatcher), but to invoke British Habeas Corpus is a bit of a cheek.

Glad she is going to a sanctuary where she has the chance to ignore other orangutangs like she does in the wild. What is that zoo biologist going on about? His zoo just wants her so people will pay money to look at her.

Humans get more civilised and one way of it being shown is how animals are treated. Back in the 17th and 18th C they used to bring turtles back from the Americas to Europe for soup. The turtles were kept alive to be fresh so to stop them wandering about they nailed their front flippers to boards....

We are past that stage as more civilised. We all know we have some way to go yet though.

“Orangutans are lonely, quiet animals that get together only to mate or to look after their offspring,” Not quite true. More accurately ”Orangutans are the most solitary of the great apes, with social bonds occurring primarily between mothers and their dependent offspring, who stay together for the first two years. Lonely and solitary are not the same thing. Anybody ever kept a continuous 24/7 observation on a number of orangutans for, say, 5 years? Orangutans are acknowledged to be amongst the most intelligent of the primates. And if we don't understand what they say, what does that make us. Perhaps Sandra's way beyond us. And just has nothing to say to us. Who goes to a zoo to look at animals anyway? What's wrong with a video of them in the wild? Suppose Sandra feels a need to have a fling and get it on with a male! How's Sestelo going to cope with that?

it is a concept of the 19ème siècle
how the fuck can they treat the animals well if they are confined in a cage, you ass?

the modern concept is the bioparque and the reserva natural, and there are a LOT of great examples of that in argentina.

Well, l never thought that l would agree with paulcedron on anything, but l do agree that “All zoos should be closed” as he posted @ 26.
Mind you, as regards the Falklands, his views are in the raving looney camp, but it is nice to see that he has some feelings for God's dumb creatures.
Dumb in as cannot speak, not stupid.
My experience with animals has proved to me that many of them are quite intelligent.
On another note, Orangutans come from the lsland of Borneo in lndonesia.
Orang is lndonesian for man or people & utan means “forest or of the forest”
    Orangutan= Man of the forest.
    Orang puti=white man
    Orang hitim=black man
When we lived there, Dad told me that the locals told him that young male Orangutans sometimes kidnapped local women & took them into the jungles, never to be seen again. Have been assured that it is true.
    What a horrible fate.

“...did you realize that you hunt lions and tigers and elephants.....oh my!”

Captain, I actually go to India twice a year to hunt Tigers.

They are getting quite rare, so it's really good sport when you see one, and actually manage to bag it.
Lost two of our native bearers last year - Tiger got them before I shot it!
Very annoying, as we did not have enough servants to carry out gear after that.
I had to buy off the families and I left them all the meat, as we don't use that, ourselves.
The skin looks great on the wall.

The hunting is better in Africa, especially if you know the right people *wink, wink*
Lions have been good fun, but elephants are the real prize now.
The locals are happy to take the meat for their families. In exchange, they have made us the most wonderful Ivory knick-knacks and carvings.
I only regret that these noble beasts, with such great spirit, are fewer and fewer.
Our family and many of our friends have made a tradition of this for decades, but I fear my son won't have his chance to bag any significant kills for much longer.
    :-(
Hoping to club a few seal pups with the grandkids over the holidays, though.

Come with me sometime Captain, we can bag a few moose, drink some good Sipping Whiskey, and have a few laughs.

Have you tried hunting from a chopper?
I recommend it - we can get right into some of the 'protected' areas, deep in the back country.

I like spending as much of my spare time, with fellow sportsmen that like s good hunt.
I could let you try my assault rifle - I've converted it back to full automatic!!

Paul doesn't seem to realize or maybe he's just willfully ignorant that the Falklanders are the richest per capita community in South America, by a mile.

Most of them have 2nd homes somewhere else, travel extensively, can afford to send their children to any school anywhere in the world, can afford new imported cars and live a healthy, happy, secure life that Rgs could only dream of.
Nobody lives behind 12 foot gates and barred windows or have to have armed guards patrolling their property 24 hrs a day. They don't worry about getting mugged, stabbed, car jacked or violated when they walk the streets at night.
That kind of security is unknown in Argentina. Even in remote country areas you still have to be wary of getting commando assaulted as you sleep.

I loved the Falklands when I visited. It is lovely and I can see the attraction of living in a remote community.

Paul has gone off the deep end ever since Construction/Real Estate crashed. I think he finally realized that this is the beginning of a decade (maybe a generation) long downturn and he's not had a job in a very very long time and probably won't be able to work in his profession ever again.
I think that's the problem all the Rg posters are having right now and the reason they are all lashing out over perceived slights.

    captain poop
    the islets, england...what's the difference?
they are tiny islands = tiny genepool.

the ones i referred to, are these inbred hillbillies:
    http://horrordigest.blogspot.com.ar/2011/03/x-files-home.html

it seems they are very common in those tiny, isolated islets.

I agree yb.......in the Army we called that instant.....the “Oh..shhhiit” moment. SOme of those moments are deadly.....yet others mere catastrophic as in the case of the “working” people in Argentina.

    62. From what I undertand most of the Falklanders marry people from outside of the islands...
so that shoots your theory to sh*t

Paul, you are something mentally wrong with you. Your jealousy of a place you've never seen, people you've never met is unhealthy. You really should talk to one of he 100s of thousands of psychologists in your county. Maybe they can give you a pill or commit you or something.
Just because you don't have a job and your life is horrible is not the fault of the people living in The Falklands.
Just keeps saying that over and over again until it sinks in.

Paul, you should just stick with the old “Jewish Masonic Banking Conspiracy” script. At least you'd be talking about something you think you know about. ;)

    Pablo......is that your best? Really?

Like yb......I see you strike out based on your anger and jealousy of the situation your live in stevie. Poor little poor boi. You country offers you no opportunities to advance in life, your leaders continue the south american way of corruption of taking from you if you working and earn wages, no imports and now very little to export. You are a pariah in the normal world, they feed you the Falklands lie to unify the light minded and for many it works. Yes.........your facade is feeble. Especially you lack of travel. As I said.....email me at m.cher1160@outlook.com and I will be happy to show you all my visa's....something you cannot do you bola menos maravilla.

So I ask again....is this your best?

Well they give Human Rights to Kirchner and Timergollum and Castro. Why not to an orangutan? I'm sure it would do a better job of running Argentina than that crew.

“again, my honest advice to you, herd of ignoramuses is: build a real school, a university, travel more, and most important, try to get some dignity and stop being so parasites.”

But Paul, the Islanders don't want to be Argentine.....

Ignoramus. England is NOT an island. You appear to be an outstanding example of the Argentine education - or lack of - system.
England has a tiny gene pool ? It has a much larger population than Argentina.
That is a good one coming from a product of Spanish and Mafiosa Italians.
The worst possible combination of genes with, it seems, no redeeming factors.

    ignorant grandpa.
england is not even an island, it is just a portion of a tiny island.
and what the fuck has the number of inhabitants got to do with this issue?
the important thing is to mix the different ancestries like in argentina, and not to have ghettos like in england.
so you have packies, chinese, indians, britontos, whatever, all separately.

have you ever asked yourself why the english are so ugly and not exactly brilliant?
well, because of their tiny genepool, you retarded grandpa.

Keep posting Pauli and let everyone see what an ignorant twat you are.
You comments display a mindset so thick that I doubt if x-rays could penetrate more than a centimeter into your dense skull.
My comments have nothing to do with the heading of this subject, although it is obvious to all that Orang Utans have a higher IQ than you.
You really have not got a clue about life in Britain or the mix in the genetic gene pool.
The English not exactly brilliant ? Even a 7 year old could disprove that one.
Argentina, if you are the prime example, must consist of a race of sub standard morons who go around with a begging bowl shouting Malvinas, Malvinas.
That sums up your joke of a country. A carbuncle on the arse of mankind.
If you wish me to be rude then I can try harder and even descend to your trashy level. However, as it is the season of goodwill, I will limit myself to the pleasantries above.

Clyde pc is too lacking to see what he actually is. everyone and anyone only needs to read his sophomoric vile to make the same conclusion. Though I must admit......it is somewhat fun watching pc sink in a slow (somewhat faster now) anad painless demise. It's like slowly boiling frogs in a pot..........only they do it to themselves.

Funny...Venezuela use to get attention in articles, now they are hardly a blip. Next that will be Argentina after the last nail is hammered.
