Hector Timmerman, Heraldo Muñoz outline new phase in binational relationships. Transandean Train, Agua Negra and Las Leñas Paths to bring on significant progress. Read full article
DON'T trust Timmerturd, Chile: he speaks with the same forked tongue as his turncoat father did.
Why bother with the criminal neighbour next door? We all know they NEVER pay their debts and NEVER stand by treaties, always bleating 'we were forced to sign' when they don't want it anymore.
@3. What a pity that these 'Protocols' have already been signed. I hope that Chile has taken adequate precautions. Some that immediately occur are burying more than adequate quantities of explosives to destroy any of these projects. Why? Well, there's the Martin Garcia channel dispute for a start. Ten years Uruguay has been waiting for argieland to comply with its responsibilities. Supposedly administered by a bilateral commission known as CARP. I wonder if it shouldn't be CRAP. Then there was the pulp mills dispute, that turned out to be based on argie lies and argie pollution of the Uruguay River. Presumably that's now overseen by another bilateral commission known as CARU. And, having lost the last time, argieland wants to trot off to the ICJ again. Because Uruguay authorised a production increase of 0.2 million tonnes! Hardly a significant quantity. But enough, it seems, to try to get the original ICJ judgement overturned. Then there was the instance of argieland refusing to buy its currency back. Poor little Uruguay, being co-operative, exchanges worthless argie pesos, only to find that argieland intends to defraud it. How long will it be before argieland finds an excuse to re-open the Beagle Channel dispute? And renege on another one of those treaties of 'Co-operation and Friendship' it loves so much. Hitler had a similar approach. Get baulked on something? Put it away for a while and then try a different tack. With all these friendly 'co-operative' measures, how much is Bachelet giving away? Or perhaps she just wants a chance to make the same amounts of money?
Good synopsis but you left one out: the argies are (as of 5 weeks ago) STILL taking electricity via the River Plate cable and have yet to pay anything for it.
I was hopeful the new heat wave would set fire to the cable (due to massive over-current draw) and cut them off.
I would prefer to cut the thieving bastards off in another way but I live in hope.
@13
Did you finally find an Afro-Argentine to kill for Christmas? If not, you'll just have to go through yet another year less than a man. I've never understood that part, Chopper, you always appear to be less than a man whether you kill somebody or not.
”Hector Timerman underlined the current friendship between the two nations “which has never been seen before.”
They can thank Britain for the current so called friendship. Argentina received such an arse kicking during the Falklands war that they have shelved their territorial ambitions in South America and 'embraced' their neighbours. They regard this new found solidarity as essential because it makes them feel less afraid and more secure.
If Argentine had prevailed in the Falklands in 1982, which country was next in line for invasion?
Merry Christmas Falkland Islanders and may there be many more!
And we can thank you for making it abundantly clear that your personal interest in headchopping is not merely cultural. It runs in the blood. It defines you as an Argentine, kind of like murdering black people . Not many of your fellow citizens can or would say that.
I thought you were going to spend Christmas camping and roasting meat among the Ucuamar. What happened, your family tell you you couldn't go after you didn't kill that required Afro-Argentine? Or was it all a lie to begin with? ;)
I did say Christmas day. Let me ask you something: why do you anti-argies have such low tolerance (actually, null tolerance), for dissenting views? Look at Cabeza Dura: he was a good argie as long as he toed your world-view 100%. As soon as he dissented in something, you traduced him.

For my part, when my government says something, I research how it affects me. Naturally, peronistas wouldn't do that. After all, the other day some numbnuts thought that the right to vote came from 'above'. Considering when 'democracy' started, I assume he was thinking of Zeus and the rest of the Greek pantheon. Or perhaps Odin (Woden) and the other occupants of Valhalla? Ahuramazda? Quetzlcoatl?
Empyreal day in the mountains. 24C. Women in bikinis and great wine and meat. Green trees full of shade, warm sun when stepping out of the groves. Lakes, wind, bikes.
Meanwhile the loser northerners stuck at home buried under snow, or hiding from the rain, hearing uncle's snores and nanna's farts, eating what's left instead of cooking fresh meat, and watching the children fight each other over gifts.
I wonder what I would choose as a life. North or south...

Yeah, we Ucumars had a good time. My cousin and I get along, which in Argentina is called family. In the north, it's call nothing since family there does not exist.
I think it fair to say that you have no clue about which you speak, and that you are probably lying about your own relationships. It is also very clear that you are an isolated and lonely individual, which is just as well as you are patently a homicidal psychopath with delusions of grandeur.
