European Defence Agency Chief Executive, eh? As a Spaniard, I wonder how he's going to feel as he has to go cap-in-hand to Britain for various capabilities. Picking out 'projects', who has the best air-to-air refueling capability, who is ahead of everyone else in Europe on remotely-piloted aircraft, who has the best satellite comms and cyber warfare capabilities? Let's see now, Britain has the RAF Voyager, a transport/tanker. The UK has 14. Eventually, France may have 12. Spain might have 2. Not surprised at that last. Spain never goes anywhere. British ground troops regularly use hand-launched drones. A number of countries operate drones, but isn't Britain the only one that designs and builds its own? Satellite comms and cyber warfare. Who remembers how HMS Conqueror asked permission to sink the Belgrano 8,000 miles from home port? Decision required in minutes. How did we do that? Cyber warfare and GCHQ. Apart from NSA in the States, who's got anything like it? No-one. Britain, right at the front, leading the way. I expect this dago will finish up having to do as he's told. How embarrassing for him if Britain just said No.
