A scantily clad group of female protesters drew a heavily breathing gaggle of journalists and cell-phone wielding onlookers to the beaches of Rio de Janeiro. The protest was not meant to draw attention to another corruption scandal, police killing, or unwanted hike in transit fares, rather demand women’s right to sunbathe topless, a cause that most of the onlookers appeared to support. I hear The Sun has finally ended it's page 3 hook, perhaps MP is taking up the baton?

    But seriously, Brazilian women - I feel your pain. Another example of patriarchal overreach. One day your breasts will be free! Just don't forget the sunscreen...

    It's really a mute issue as the dental floss they wear now is near to nothing.
    A substantial number of Brazilian women on the beach need to cover up more.

    I had my share of sharing European beaches with topless grandmothers. Not a pleasant sight...

    And yes, the two topless pictured are very very attractive.

    I totally agree Chicu. We have that problem here as well. What's worse is when that dental floss is hidden by a flap or a roll of epidermis. It's worse when some are walking around in yoga tights and they should not be, only to find out they are sweats.

    Thanks for the defense.
    However, I yield as “mute” means something completely different.
    Most women need to accentuate their bodies with clothing as being nearly nude only works for perhaps 20%. For that manner, only 5% of men to the gentile sex.
    (Yes, I definitely belong to the men who should wear a burka. )

    just trying to be helpful, but “the gentile sex.” ????

    Gentile = a non-Jewish person
    'the gentle sex' = a somewhat patronising term for women
    genteel = old-fashioned English term for those considered to have social graces and good manners,

    hope that helps, no offence intended.
    :-)
    PS: divest yourself of the repressive burhka. Live Free!!
