Falkland Islands will this month begin to grapple with the big questions about how oil and gas development will impact on their society and culture. being anti British for the sake of protecting your own
is a lousy excuse to say the least,

Argentina would have done exactly the same if it has the Falkland's oil,
    and probable stole the lot,
    prove me wrong.

    Paul 'contradict yourself' cedron
'what oil are this imbeciles talking about?
    that tiny little oil well?...LOL'
    then in the next post....
'If extracted by british companies, it will change the whole fucking eco system.
the south atlantic will be a big oil stain.'

So what is it a 'tiny well' or one that could 'change the whole fucking ecosystem'.
Paulie, jog on me old mucker, you are making a fool of yourself.
How is your Portfolio by the way, worked on any significant projects, some one with your Architectural training must be very sought after, it was you, wasn't it, that went to a prestigious Architectural School? or was it someone else!

Please dont take the p out of Pauly. He is working on a new project in Villa 31. He has collected lots of corrugated iron, some old pallets and is paying the local Cartoneros (in kind… ) to collect lots of corrugated cardboard for the walls. It is going to be the best shack in the whole area, an architectural masterpiece in the true Gaudi style!

As for our oil wells, best to leave it in the seabed at the moment with plenty of other income making our islands the richest place in South America.

and where the fuck is the contradiction?
a tiny little oil well with no commercial oil like that shite can contaminate a lot of our wonderful mar argentino.

and as the world knows, the english / british are not very trustable when we are talking about oil extraction.

oil + british = disaster waiting to happen

@3 Sorry they don't care for Argentinean options in this matter.

@7 Sorry they don't care for Argentinean options in this matter.

Which means that it really doesn't matter whether you think there is oil or not and wether there is a culture.

So sit back and suck it up.

The article reports on a serious and mature method about how the Falkland Islanders are facing up to a new and exciting future.

Then, on the other hand, in the comment section we have the ridiculous and immature paul-cedron....

    Note the contrast.

He claims to have attended “one of the most prestigious Universties on Earth”, yet this actual centre of learning promotes itself as an 'Institute' that is accredited by a polytechnic. No claims on its website purporting to be a University and certainly not “one of the most prestigious Universties on Earth”.

'nuff said about any current or future claims that paulie makes.

    His day is over.

    9 imbecile
the MIT is also an institute and a polytechnic and one of the best universities in the world.
and it also has one of the best schools of architecture.

it seems that because of your poor education and your tiny little brain you cant understand the concept / definition of university, no?

Paul is a cretin, a thick moron without a clue. Laugh at him, pity him, ridicule him...but never take him seriously.

An oil well is a single hole...the Falklands have an oil discovery, an oil field....appraised nine times, and proven (PROVEN) to contain over 200million barrels of high quality oil...and likely to contain double that.

It's a pity imbecile Paul hasn't got a clue...but a pity only for him. Nobody else gives a crap for his retarded opinions.

What Masters Degree did you graduate in?
    Or did you just 'attend'?
Is that the only part of your claim that is true?
Did you just attend 'Visitors Day'?
as for “the MIT is also an institute and a polytechnic and one of the best universities in the world.” But it is not the one you talk of, so irrelevant.

Paul, I see your obsessive compulsive disorder to post about the Falklands is in full swing again.

Accidents in oil exploration do happen, it's a high risk business.

However, this is no accident :

And guess what, the money put aside to help the situation has gone missing. Would you like to comment on this contribution to the sea?

@15 WOW Really got your knickers in a twist about this Piggy Pauly. Do you have sand in your vagina Pauly? Is that why you are so irritable?

Also, you said in a previous article that rural slum dwellers in Argentina are 100's of km from a CT scanner, funny thing is that i could get to one quicker if needed.

Finally, you are not an architect, surfer, or in fact a human being. Stop wasting our precious air by existing.

  • Conqueror

    @15. Moron.
Look at that. I understand that a sentence, even if it only consists of one word, should start with an upper-case letter. Why don't you? Do you have any concept of why a keyboard has 'Shift' keys? Perhaps adjacent keys could be bigger if they were removed? Or is it just that you're a thicko?
I understand 'concepts'. But a 'university' isn't a 'concept'. It's a fact, a reality. That may be difficult for you to comprehend. Do you understand 'reality'? 'Reality' includes your inflation rate, your billions of debt, your failure to comply with court judgements, your poverty, your lies, your stupidity, your 'navy' vessels lying at the bottom of the sea, your 'air force' aircraft with wings that drop off, your thieving 'president'. Got oil and gas supplies, have you? Other than the ones you import? What happens when you have to contend with a naval blockade and no-fly zones?

When will you get around to realising that you are a little, incompetent country with a big mouth? People get upset if I mention what Britain, all on its own, could do to argieland. Here's the research. 225 thermonuclear warheads. That could work out to 22,500 kilotons. More can be built daily. It's a dialable yield. The UK has 58 Trident missiles, each capable of delivering 12 warheads. That's a capability to deliver 696 warheads. Do you think we wouldn't? Back in '82 the glorious Margaret Thatcher considered nuking argieland. Pity she didn't!

What in hell do you think you are? Corrupt, criminal, degenerate, genocidal, larcenous, mendacious, putrid subhumans is what you are. You especially. Go away somewhere and die!

600 Sq Km stolen in Salta by the Bolivians and now vast tracts of Patagonia are being stolen by the Chinese to build a space monitoring station , and you still bang on about the Falklands ?

Sadly, I think that paulcedron is in fact a spambot, programmed to respond to every post with some combination of:
you are not very bright, are you?
    retarded isleter
    your poor education
    genetic mess
    fatty fart-blower

Rather than responding to it, which only encourages it, I recommend making yourselves a game; write assorted phrases similar to the above on slips of paper, pick out three at random, and voila! Your very own paulcedron spambot imitator. Add a few connecting words and you will get a post that is virtually indistinguishable from the real thing.

    Two things:
    1) The Islanders never take a drop of oil, and that means open a door that will not close. Remove oil means accepting the filing of thousands of foreign workers, who are not going to walk but to settle permanently. They should get used to seeing drunks and prostitutes roaming the town, you will see people of all stripes prying into their homes. The islanders are not prepared to deal with these people, they soon find themselves overwhelmed watching his country life falls apart. The only alternative to extract oil from there is that workers have their camp on the continent and at the time of shift change on ships move directly to the platforms without going through the islands, but that will never happen because Argentina will not allow anything so ever ..!
    2) It makes me laugh so-called “island” who post in this forum, none lives in the islands. If they are so staunch advocates of the “usurpers” that make living in Cambridge, London, Boston, Montevideo, etc ?. I have a hypothesis in response .. many lawyers, engineers, doctors, accountants and architects are needed in the islands? NONE .. !! 0 is the answer .. !! Therefore, the islands are just a nursing home, who wants progress have nothing to do on the islands, you only go there to have a future and a horizon for your family. That is the truth, fill the mouth defending the islands but none of you are able to make your life there .. They will return someday clear where they are already senile and expect your pension every month. Did not say it was a nursing home .. !!

“Turtle Island” - isn't that part of the Fiji Islands?? :-)

You sound a lot like “Brassiero”, the troll from Brazil, supposedly??

Both you and Brassiero sound more like you are from Argentina. That's not on the Fslklands either.

What would YOU know about the Falklands???

You certainly don't speak the language.

All you know about the Islands, is what CFK tells you.

The oil workers will WORK on the Islands.

For prostititeprostitutes, drinking, fighting, - they can go to Argentina to find those vices.

If you don't want to let them in, I'm sure the Montevideo whores will be happy to take all the money.

    LOL!! You lose.

Turtle 28 - Not only do you know O about the Islands - you also know O about oil!!!!

Oil- if developed - will come in from offshore in tankers or a pipeline - to a loading platform in a sheltered bay where large tankers will then load and tranship it to anywhere in the world for refining.

Total planned population increase IF Oil is developed in a medium-large volume will be about 600 men women and children - that is a population increase of about 20% - and some of those will be living offshore and flying in and out of the Islands anyway.
During the construction phase and connection all the wells up ready for pumping there will be some more - but again all offshore and they fly in out of the islands never spending more than one night onshore.

If Argentina was sensible then many of those workers could come from South America and earn good money - but if you continue to be stupid then they will come from Europe instead and make good money just as they already do.

There is NOTHING Argentina can do to stop it from happening - IF the Oil Companies decide to go ahead - their decision not yours.

Funny that our younger generation are keen to return to their home - the islands - after their education at universities and Colleges - does not fit with your fantasy does it?
