The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), José Miguel Insulza, met on Wednesday with the only current candidate to succeed him in office, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uruguay, Luis Almagro, at the headquarters of the Organization in Washington, DC.

Secretary General Insulza and Foreign Minister Almagro discussed the regional political situation, the main issues of the hemispheric agenda, and the history, present and future of the Organization.

Also present at the meeting were the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uruguay, Luis Porto; the Permanent Representative of Uruguay to the OAS, Hugo Cayrús; the Secretary General of the National Drug Board of Uruguay and former Permanent Representative of Uruguay to the OAS, Milton Romani; the Secretary for Legal Affairs of the OAS, Jean Michel Arrighi; and the Secretary for External Relations of the OAS, Alfonso Quiñonez.

The election of the successor of Insulza is scheduled to take place 9 March.

Previously Almagro met with the Chair of the OAS Permanent Council and Permanent Representative of Suriname, Niermala Badrising, and discussed the process of choosing the next head of the Organization.

The meeting took place before the Council meeting in which the candidate for Secretary General of the OAS presented his vision for the Organization.

    O, Almagro, Shit, not him!

Yes, the Rent Boy to Gollum and chief representative to TDC for Uruguay (you would think with how he fawns over these arseholes) is pictured with his Blairite rictus grin, pumping the hand of somebody who looks like he has just made an awful mistake.

OAS and Almagro deserve one another.
