“We are facing a clear abandonment of Argentine manufacturing to the benefit of Chinese production and technology”

    ('dissident') lawmaker Felipe Solá.

Argentina gives its country to the Chinese.

I was accused of 'paranoia' by Think et al a few years back when I said it was as clear as day to me that this would happen.

@6. Forced? That would be the same as Brazil being 'forced' to host the World Cup and the Olympic Games. Here's a thought. The 2014 World Cup led to, amongst other things, demonstrations and 8 deaths. Then there were the riots. Super-wealthy Brazil spent much, much more than US$14 billion. Just a small event involving only 31 teams. Next year, super-wealthy Brazil will host the 2016 Summer Olympic Games. Compared to the 12 venues for the World Cup, Rio 2016 will have 35. So far US$29.6 billion is being invested. There will be 306 events in 28 sports. It is 'hoped' that more than 205 nations will compete. Just imagine. For the World Cup, about 620 'competitors' at most. In 2012 there were 10,500 competitors. By the time it's over, Brazil will be broke. And probably broken as well. Perhaps Brazil should have asked someone how much it might all cost. Especially since London didn't have construct most of the necessary infrastructure. Anybody want to bet on how close to US$50 billion the Olympics will cost Brazil? And how will the people feel about that? More than 60% of the country's GDP being spent on a vanity project. But there was 'no choice'. Brazil was 'forced' to do this!

But now there are 'better' bits. Who will fly personnel in? The People's Liberation Army Air Force? Or will it be shipped by the People's Liberation Army Navy? Who'll be transporting the parts of the space station? Together with the necessary military personnel. Will China want its own port(s)? Its own airbase(s). Appropriate 'projects' get Chinese military security personnel.

When will Brazil wake up and find that China is next door?

Because Argentina are allowing China to build a potential military base in Neuquen , the British military presence in the Falklands will increase in order to monitor the Chinese .
And Chile will invite the Americans to build a monitoring station on the mainland .

Some time ago, the Argentine opposition were crying out loud the “isolation” of the country. That was one of the reasons they argued the country had to pay what the vultures asked.
Of course, now that the country makes productive agreements with one of the new world's emerging superpowers, everybody in the opposition shouts “dependency,” although many of them seemed to have no problem whatsoever with dependency from the U.S.

“Some time ago, the Argentine opposition were crying out loud the “isolation” of the country.”

Enriques, do you mind reading over your statement again.

It is not clear whether you are saying the Opposition is for or against isolationism.

Isn't Isolationism a traditionally, Peronist platform?

Do you not agree that voters or Parties can call for honouring their debts and legal commitments, while at the same time protesting an unbalanced trade deal that does nothing to help the labour force, and sells your commodities cheaply in a long term contract?

Certainly the critics of the government are being very prudent and responsible, wanting Argentina's bondholder debts paid, and not entering into a userous agreement with another lender.

They sell everything you can think of and I mean everything under one roof, every piece of crap you can think of. There are no Spanish retailers anywhere, the only place the Spanish can sell anything is at the Saturday markets.

“What is all this objection and complaints about China in Argentina?”

There aren't any complaints-if you want China there that's your business. However, if the Chinese are building things with their money and bringing in Chinese workers, what's that going to do for Argentine workers and businesses?

Argentina need not have got into debt-it is comparible with someone who cannot control spending, cannot pay back and is in hoc to money lending companies that take everything.

The irony is that Argentina complains about the Falklands being a colonial situation (when the Islanders don't agree that it is-and don't have to sell themselves to anyone to get by), and yet Argentina will now be colonised economically by the Chinese.

India was an example of the UK colonising economically, and then expanding that colonialism leading to India gaining independence in 1947.

And yet Argentina are allowing themselves to be colonised by China!

However if Argentina is happy with that, fine, it might stop them whinging about the 'Malvinas Myth', 'Engleesh colonialism'.etc etc.

I think, Pete, that Argentina is like an addict in a casino playing the tables - they will keep playing until totally bust.
Not a lot of hope, but still hoping.

But the history of China in the Americas also includes the building of the railroads in 'the USA' and today's massed populations of Chinese in the North West and California.

I think we will see vast migrations of the Chinese to 'better' territories - because that's what animals do when the imperative comes upon them.

We may well be able to restrict their numbers in the UK and Europe, but it will not be so easy in South America and Africa. Oceania will go Chinese.

It is just the logic of numbers - billions of Chinese need somewhere to go .
