but...why this 4th class newspaper is publishing an article about...tennis?
since when the isleters are interested in sports?
what can they know about tennis?

as for “...the sporting arch-rivalry against Brazil...”
the arch-rivalry against brazil is just in football.
    nothing more.
you cannot compare one of the powerhouses in sports like argentina with brazil in sports like tennis, rugby, field hockey, volleyball, basketball, polo, pato, golf and the list goes on and on.

and thinking it twice, not even in football.

@1 Why do you keep coming here? You clearly hate the news site so why not end your own suffering? Or is it that really you just love it and can't stay away?

I will let you into a secret, Merc0Press is not purely for the Falklands Island readership. The clue is in the sub title...south atlantic news agency.
Why do you read it ?
powerhouses in sports like argentina with brazil

Remind me, how did Argentina do in the Olympic Games in 2012 ?
    Brazil 17 medals
    Argentina 4 medals

Perhaps if you took the time to see who wrote the article, you would understand that this was by an Argentine journalist writing about the Argentine Davis Cup team and how J. M. del Potro has at last dropped his anti Orsanic pose!!!!!

Oh childish and resentful one, it depends on your definition of real sports.
The rest of the world seems to know as 63 countries are participating.
Maybe they should co-opt you onto the IOC as you are the self-proclaimed expert and judge on all matters.
Or could it be that YOU discount the Olympics because Argentina is pretty hopeless at nearly all the events.
You do know that Football, Rugby, Tennis, Basketball,Golf , Field Hockey, Equestrian events and Boxing are also included.
However your chances of any Gold medals have been greatly diminished as there are no events scheduled for whining and self pitying, in which,, as world leaders. you would have been medal certainties.

Argentine tennis always had strong rivalries, Vilas vs Clerc in the 80s, Coria vs Gaudio, Nalbandian vs Coria, Nalbandian vs Del Potro. That is why we have excessive individual talent but don’t get along and we haven't won a single Davis cup.

And a cheesy motto taken out of a cheesy film like Invictus ( the Man with no name really disappointed me on that one) ain’t going to change that. And its for articles like these the arse licking sport press has a lot to do. Take it from me, that is all you need to know.

Wouldn’t mind be stuck with her in the islets in a cabin by the fireplace if she is under 35 yo, has no testicles, no beard and weighs less than 80kg and watching the Davis cup...

All night to wash your beard!! Well, you need to shave the Viking's beard more often. He can’t see anything when he is fighting; he already got severally axed right in the middle of his chin
