One simple lesson from history is that when people come together to talk, to exchange ideas and to develop common goals, wonderful things can happen. So many of the world's greatest technological and industrial achievements have begun as partnerships between families, countries, and even continents. But, as we are often reminded, the opposite can also be true. When common goals fall apart, so does the exchange of ideas. And if people no longer trust or understand each other, the talking will soon stop too. Read full article

Superb picture of HM The Queen who at 89 looks far younger than 'Old Turkey Neck' TMBOA herself who is only 56% of the age of the Queen.

Still, TMBOA will never get to 63 the way she is going, let's hope so anyway.

Must be nice to be part of the Commonwealth, a group of countries which have done nothing but to work and improve.
Well, congrats folks, well deserved indeed.

Wouldn't it be nice if you had a leader that you could respect and look up to? 53 member states. A population of 2.328 billion, near a third of the whole world's population. 17% of the world's GDP. Even has members that were never part of the Empire, like Mozambique and Namibia. All headed by a single English woman. God bless Her Majesty!

The British do have a sense of humoUR, I give you that.

The British Empire was now “a partnership”.... I'm still hiccupping over this line. Instant British classic.

I'm sure next the Japanese will tag their empire as the “Greater Asia Co-Prosperity sphere”...

    Oh, wait.

you are just jealous as usual,
you have no leader like this,

if only Spain had formed a commonwealth, lol

Yeah find me another empire that happily converted itself into a voluntary association.

Spain's empire ended in blood and revolution and distrust. Britaon's ended as the Commonwealth of Nations.

Anyone can leave anytime. Such as Gambia did recently. Or join as Suriname is contemplating.

If only Argentina had been lucky enough to be part of the British Empire and not the Spanish Empire. It too could be in the Commonwealth.......

And probably look more like Australia, Canada or New Zealand.

Yeah, that American independence war sure was peaceful. Same with India, same with South Africa... The other places are too small and don't count so much.

Thank goodness we were never British. We would be like Zimbabwe, Guyana, or Jamaica today.

Probably, but that is due to your own stupid attitudes and immaturity.

As others have said, and something I truly believe, you could have been anothe Canada or Australia.
As for the USA, war is war, they didn'y cpme out of it too badly, and the UK and USA are close friends.
You are a pariah State, even within Lat Am.

PS: Guyana is exploring potential gas/oil reserves in its coastal terroritory.
    :-)

you are trying to compare sticks and stones,

we are talking abt now, are we not,
    we have the commonwealth,
you are a member of the Spanish claim it club,

    ours are doing reliably well,
yours are collapsing faster than a pack of cards,

    next.

Argentina a Pariah even within Latin America? GOOD.

That's exactly the place I want to be, telling everyone to f--ck off. No respect to anyone when none is given.

    Not good.

That's exactly the place I want to be, telling everyone to f--ck off
but you are not there, and therefore cannot tell anyone to F.O.

We cannot be held responsible for the state of Argentina or any other failing south American state,

    Pronto.

    mutual cooperation?
    understanding?
benefit of OUR countries and the people?
