Brazil's economic growth depends more on the approval of austerity measures needed to rebuild investor confidence than on a weaker currency, Finance Minister Joaquim Levy told O Globo newspaper. Read full article
This poor guy is trying to do the right things for the economy but my guess is he will be thwarted by the Marxist Monkeys currently running the country.
Depreciate currency, deny inflation, raise wages, deny inflation, depreciate currency
They don't know any better.
I really feel sorry for Levy as it is clear now that DumbAss Dilma lied to him about the scope of his responsibilities and what he could do to correct the major errors made by The Liar Mantega.
The next six months will be the crunch time in respect to him stating or going. I think he will resign and leave the silly cow and The Crook of the Country, Lula, to sink further into the shit.
@1 Don't give him too much credit. Just because he has knowledge doesn't mean he intends to use it for good. I think he only exists to keep some false confidence intact to shake down investors...like the media did when the election polls said Silva would win. All to get people to trust a bankrupt system. Argentina and Brazil have never simultaneously embarked on a disasterous path. They tied themselves to Venezuela for the temporary control, but a sociopathic attitude towards the futures of their nations.
@5 Hippy
Current recovery occurring now ?? WHERE is is recovery supposed to be taking place ? obviousy in the US.....not Brazil, for sure...
Now just compare the reasons why the US went through a crisis, and why Brazil is still going through one....totally different. But perfectly understandable coming from you, given your lack of knowlegde of Brazil.
