Argentina must continue to keep the UK fully informed with regard to its future military purchases.

So, he has denied that Argentina was planning to buy Su-24sfrom Russia,. Fair enough, as nobody ever suggested that they would “buy” them.
However, he not not denied that they had plans to “lease” the planes, which is what the original story implied.
The details of the “proposal from France” should be interesting.

No STARSTREAK should be able to take them out. Only MACH 3.5 though.

@2. But the Su-24s only came to light in December. The Russians probably researched the genetic modifications, chemicals and so forth. I wonder if Putin already takes those Monsanto 'growth' hormones?
@8. Starstreak? I think not. It's a man-portable weapon. Where are all the guys going to stand on the deck of a destroyer. As matters stand, the future is CAMM (Common Anti-air Modular Missile). Three variants. Air, Land and Maritime. Only said to be Mach 3 though. Will that be enough? I don't think there's an aircraft amongst those the argies are 'considering' that could get away from a CAMM. Britain will be introducing the Sea Ceptor (CAMM(M)) into service in 2016. To be fitted to Type 23 frigates and, of course, Type 26 frigates. Sea Ceptor missiles mean that there will be four times as many as Sea Wolfs.

    (10) Wrong Italian plane, hermanito Shileno...

Tulio and I agree that we should focus our efforts on the further development of the Macchi-Castoldi M-C 72 concept...

Still the fastest on Earth.... (on her class ;-)

TDC is like the virginal girl we all experienced when we were young.

First she said she would but got cold feet when it came to getting her knickers off.

Then all her mates did it, liked it and couldn't get enough of it, but still she held back.

Then you dumped her and the last thing you heard was she never married.

TDC, always the bridesmaid, never the bride.

    Ha, ha, ha.

Never saw a picture of the Macchi-Castoldi M-C 72 concept until your post. Interesting airplane! I did however see hanging from the ceiling at the Smithsonian a WWII Macchi fighter. Susposedly considered one of the best.

Considering Argentina hasn't mastered how to build a washing machine that doesn't catch fire or electrocute you I wouldn't be too concerned about them engineering something that is supposed to fly.

    @ 1 yb

I think we should positively encourage it.

The more the argies kill of their own the less risk to the Falklands.

Hope they accept the British Martin Baker ejection seat in the Thunder as it's going to be useful.
