A football player doesn’t only depend on their sporting attributes on the pitch, but also needs to have the skills to be competitive out of the stadium. For those who start playing football, English can be the key to access to new opportunities, or to put it another way, it can be like a Goal to the Future. Read full article

“But seriously, whatever you do, English is the universal language and it will be useful for you to speak it.”

How true! The Uruguayo version of jibber-jabber is not even understood in Spain!

“Goal to the Future” currently includes 3500 young people who have dropped out of school or are at risk of doing so.

The number is much, much, higher than this when you include the girls who leave to look after the family. My teacher friends despair at the waste of education seemingly condoned by the 'government' because the kids cannot leave without their permission as well.

And 'No Money Pepe' still claims he supports education, lying bastard.

An Englishman pointing out the need for English, while lauded by another Englishman that fled England.

Never because we didn't want to live here, Troy. There's a slight difference between forced exile and chosen exile, even if you fail to see it.
And by the way, the dictatorship ended in 85...

“Never because we didn't want to live here, Troy”

No, they were shit-scared of the policia 'dealing' with them!

This scum tried to overturn a democratically elected government using force, including murder.

There futile efforts ended with the Military government. They should all have been shot for sedition.

Now we have the cunts robbing the country blind.

    Thanks, Chris.

Stevie has stated in the past, that as a SUPA TUPA, he was exiled in the 70's by “Operacion Condor”.

Could it be that he has his facts wrong, or doesn't 'remember' them correctly?

    :-)

Breakdowns R Us Stevie has said many things which contradict each other, the more ridiculous one was that his parents fled the country taking him with them as a baby. He then grew up to be an engineering technician and worked the RSV's in the North Sea but could not answer a very simple thermodynamics question regarding a fridge in a sealed room.

This proved he was nothing but a liar he had no real knowledge of engineering.

Bullshit and bluster followed when I pointed out the error: something that a second year engineering student should have gotten correct.

His incarnation as 'Guzz' was outed by me when he returned as 'Stevie'. Guzz had been getting more aggressive and erratic with his posts until he stopped for some time.

The 'first era' of Stevie ended in the same manner. The present era of Stevie, who I call 'Breakdowns R Us' is going in exactly the same way so I expect he will be gone before June / July having suffered yet another breakdown.

Instead we formed the MPP, the biggest party in the Frente Amplio.

Then we took power at the urns, and we improved the country so much, old Chris chose to leave his dump and upgrade.

    The rest, is history

Ah! The Frente Amplio aka The Broad Fraud, the mish-mash of all the losers who could never get elected on their own behest, including the MPP.

Then of course you get all the 'Rulers' of each titchy-tiny bullshit party negotiating who gets what job.

You should see some of the morons that the MPP 'supporters' vote for AND of course if things do not go their way there is also La Tronca, Pepe's slag, to ”get the people OUT ON THE STREETS!

    MURDER AGAIN, Breakdowns R Us?

Forced into exile.... from a dictatorship that ended 30 years ago!

Yeah sure he REALLY wants to live there.

Still living outside your country 30 years after the reason for leaving has gone is now a CHOICE.

I just love how Stevie equivocates on where he lives.

Shame is always an interesting emotion to observe in anonymous fora.

You mean I am ashamed because you think I live here or there?
Get off that horse, your opinion could attach itself to me like dog shit to my shoe.

You know, the “oh, well” kind of reaction, while I dry it off the closest thing available. (Read Chris)

    Get my point?

    ;)

I don't think you live here or there. Because I don't know where you live.

I will take it at face value when you clearly state where you do live.

But you NEVER have and you NEVER will.

And you attache an inordinate amount of importance to that.

To me you are just an anonymous person on the internet that is too ashamed to clearly state something. Doesn't affect my life but clearly affects your own.
