The British media spend hours agitating for British forces to intervene abroad but they seem oblivious to the fact that these forces are now at the disposal of the EU (Lisbon was fully implemented on 1/11/14). Do the journalists really not understand that this has happened or are they keeping the British public in the dark? Other European States see Lisbon as the beginning of Europe as an independent security and foreign policy power (see below) but the British are hiding this aspect of the EU.
Please read on.

if we are brainwashed to stay in this corrupt EU,
Can we absolutely guarantee to protect the Falkland's and or Gibraltar
if they eventually take control of our military,
a point worth thinking abt , I think....,
This is another outrageous offense against the Argentine people and an insult to all South Americans by these pompous islanders calibrating their fantasy of victory over the true rightful owners of the islands.
Jun 02nd, 2015 - 12:18 am - Link - Report abuse 0Buenos Aires, May 31 (Casa Rosada) -- this ANNIVERSARY much touted by English pirate puppet regime is no more than a crafty trick to cover up the crimes it perpetrated against the nation by pushing the peaceful Argentine people to an extreme pitch of tension through its moves to escalate confrontation with our region and shift the blame for the escalated tension on to it, says Argentine president Cristina Fernandez, Sunday in an article.
The puppet regime is the hordes of confrontation maniacs who deliberately laid a stumbling block in the way for the south Atlantic dialogue by perpetrating hideous provocations against and unhesitatingly scuppered the opportunity for mending the two nation's relations, the article says, and goes on:
The puppet regime has gone mad in its treacherous bid to achieve unification of island squatter social systems, while malignantly hurting the inviolable dignity and social system of Argentina. It is, indeed, a mockery and insult to all Argentines for it to trumpet about dialogue.
It is, indeed, ridiculous for the regime to try to evade the responsibility for the deteriorating relations by employing such poor gimmick.
Towering high at present is the indignation of Argentines from all walks of life at the British puppet regime which has thrown the South American relations and the whole society into crises by enforcing policy of confrontation with Argentina and misrule.
The illegal puppet ruling forces petroleum exploitation racket for confrontation with Argentina will only worsen their ruling crisis and precipitate their final ruin, cursed and censured by all of the world. It is too late for them to improve their miserable lot already sealed through delirious thoughts from the true motherland.

It is reported that the Virgen de las Malvinas will make a fleeting visit to the Falkland Islands on this occasion - just to keep an eye on things!

Hope the Islanders here enjoy themselves.

Celebrations of a free people released from the shackles of a cruel inhuman dictatorship by the best armed forces in the world. Who go on to guarantee that freedom year after year.

Then Yes - the party in the Town Hall- drinks on the taxman - is indeed a Celebration of our Freedom and Democracy.

@19:
Jun 02nd, 2015 - 03:14 pm - Link - Report abuse 0No, the dates are correct. Your article is mistaken.
December 20, 1832 was the British removing an unlawful military garrison from their territory. You cannot invade what is yours.
The leftovers of the civilian group were invited to stay by Britain, as was their right. Those settlers formed their own culture that is today part of the Falkland Islands. To call them squatters is false.
Your claims of occupation by Britain of its own territory stems from Argentina's falsification of history - the Malvinas Lie.
The truth is that Argentina tried twice to invade and claim British territory, lying about the circumstances when they were denied in the 1830s.
It is that lie that has given rise to the entitlement Argentina has over British territory. It is that lie that Argentina pushed when they illegally invaded the Falklands in 1982. It is the liberation of the Falklands from this invasion that is celebrated here.
By repeating the Malvinas Lie you are claiming that the liberation of 1982 was wrong and your attempted subjugation of the Islanders (and planned murder) was justified. This too is a lie.
Paul, I know you'd rather throw insults than talk reasonably on this subject. That said, I'd like to ask one favour, and I'd appreciate a yes or no answer.
Will you please stop lying?

@19, 21. How easy you find it to be a putrid cretin. The Islands are BRITISH. They've been BRITISH since 1690 when the BRITISH discovered them. There was a little problem with the spanish in 1770/71, but they ran away when they realised that the BRITISH were serious. Then there was 1832/33 when a spanish colony thought it had 'rights'. It didn't. It still doesn't. The Islands are BRITISH. They will remain BRITISH until the Islanders are ready to take full control, i.e. independence. You and your cesspit territory need to get something important through the space between your ears. The Islands will NEVER belong to argieland. I wonder how many Brits want to kill argies? Try to invade again and find out. Oh, I forgot, you can only attack when there are just 80 British troops in place. Now there are at least 1200. A patrol vessel. Perhaps a DESTROYER. Perhaps a frigate. Perhaps a nuclear-propelled submarine. Combat aircraft. Actually, checking the state of the argie armed farces, or perhaps fart-arses, British forces are bigger and better!

Jun 02nd, 2015 - 09:16 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Your speculation is not too far from the mark!
There have been lately a number of indignant outcries in the Duchy of Grand Fenwick by the national Anti-Dilutionist party who have angrily accused the Argentinian wine industry of flooding the European market with Tetrapak wine from Mendoza labeled “Pinot Grande de Fénico” in almost the same style and printing as the famous Duchy's famed “Pinot Grand Fenwick” and threatening Fenwick's prime market in the Geneva–Montreux–Chamonix areas.
This especially after it was discovered that the notorious Argentine wine was unknowingly being served at the Duchy's Gray Goose Pub which has caused an outrage among the populace.
Last week a formal declaration of cease or face the bellicose consequences was drafted by the Fenwick parliament and signed by the Grand Duchess.
As the Fenwick armed forces are notably diminutive, it is rumored that the Grand Duchess has authorized the hiring of Gurkha mercenaries to accompany the proposed expeditionary forces.
Oh dear, Paul, can you tell us when Argentina became a country? Rather than a group of states, a colony, if you will, separate of its colonial master Spain? You have this pointed out to you all the time on here. When did that group of states finally become Argentina? Why is it that the rest of the world knows the answer and you don't?
Jun 02nd, 2015 - 10:57 pm - Link - Report abuse 0As many people have said on here, Liberation Day, the 14th June every year since 1982 is a commemorative Service of Remembrance, remembering the dead of both sides, the civilians who died and also those who have died since because of what happened here and is also a thank you to those that gave their lives and minds for the liberation of a country from what would have been a colonisation.
Paulie, you are always banging on about colonies, so you really ought to be grateful for the ultimate destruction of a disgusting military junta which laid waste to so many Argentine lives and families, as well as, of course, the stopping of a colonisation of islands that were never Argentine.

So the risk of appearing arrogant will not inhibit the UK from returning the Malvinas within 25 years.
Jun 08th, 2015 - 02:55 am - Link - Report abuse 0Each year the US spends about $50b under the NIP. This spending enables the CIA to produce a information publication known as the CIA World Fact Book. From this publication, a referendum was held in March 2013, which resulted in 99.8% of the population voting to remain a part of the UK. Further, it is noted that the Malvinas is administered as a territory of the UK and that it is not independent. Over at State you would find the same information. So, your attempt to absolve the UK of responsibility for the Malvinas will not wash so far as the US (and most other countries) is concerned. The UK is the occupying power.
