The Falkland Islands Legislative Assembly received on Tuesday the Appropriation Bill which allows for expenditure of £61.4M pounds in the fiscal year 2015/16, supported by revenues of £56.9M and a projected £4.9M from oil and gas exploration, thus completing another surplus year. Read full article

Oh no, the Argentines are not going to like this news as it makes them look like monkeys when it comes to managing their own national finances... which they are of course.

It's nice to maintain a surplus each year. Chile’s government is required (and does) to deposit an amount equivalent to between 0.2 and 0.5 percent of the previous year’s GDP into a pension reserve fund. It is also required to put a percentage of its fiscal surplus into its so-called Economic and Social Stabilization Fund. The size of the latter fund has increased from $2.6 billion at its inception in 2007 to $14.7 billion in December 2014.

    what “industries”?
having a bunch of sheep is not an “industry”, you benny-hillbillies.

but the funniest thing is whenthey talk about 4.9 M revenues from “oil and gas” exploration...lol.
    4.9M...insignificant islets, insignificant revenues.

and tell ms. granger she needs to lose some weight.

    fatsos...

Nicola Granger, the Financial Secretary of the Falkland Islands Government, seems to me to be quite charming and attractive, but what is absolutely certain is that she's very accomplished and experienced with an MBA from the University of Warwick - Warwick Business School. (I read her bio and it's very impressive.)

On the other hand, Paulcedron, our mentally challenged, fast food fanatical devotee, who's never seen the inside of a fitness center, residential troll and part time bed pan cleaner (his parole officer assigned him 20 hours a week of public service work at a mental asylum) obviously never finished his secondary education as evidenced by his postings, still lives with his mother and has absolutely no societal value. His idea of a hot date is his favorite sock and a dog eared transvestite porn magazine.

Anyway, my best congratulations to Ms. Granger on her well written report regarding the success of the Falklands fisheries, tourism, agriculture, oil and gas that are “healthy and prospering with sufficient financial surplus as to ensure 2.5 times department spends with non committed funds, and 1.4% inflation.”
An amazing accomplishment considering the small population where unemployment nearly exists.

Compare that to Argentina and honestly tell me that the inhabitants would be happier with CFK as their president...

”all main industries (fisheries, tourism, agriculture and oil and gas) are healthy and prospering with sufficient financial surplus as to ensure 2.5 times department spends with non committed funds, and 1.4% inflation.“

    This cannot be correct!

Surely she means 41% inflation just like they have in argieland: 1.4%?

Oh, it's just SO easy to take the piss out the argies.

Cue Riki Mashed Potato Head claiming TMBOA is a financial master, or mistress, as she so often is. I bet she is proud of the nick the Chin have for her ”two Yuan whore”.

    BRILLIANT performance by the Islanders!

Chicurio, you are wrong Paul is either Cartonero or dog walking. Bed pan throw way thing now. You have Cartonero in Chile? When I go Valporiso there many dog go themselves and follow to finicukars. No job for Paul there. Top of hill right place for Paul, in slum.

@8. Not too bad for a population of 3,000. Try comparability. Has argieland got revenues of £759 trillion? That'll be more than 10 quadrillion argie pesos. In your dreams. Nice that they have so much money that they can afford to eat enough to become overweight. Jealous?

It will be interesting to see from a economical point of view how they manage to keep up the rest of the other industries as the oil and gas bonanza takes place and not become over reliant on oil and gas and other important commodities like gold and silver as these cases always end up doing.

Its inevitable that they will have some inflation as a consecuence of oil and gas boom.

If the Argentines were in control of the Mythical Malvinas, there would be an actual inflation rate of 41% and the Chinese would be running wool, fishery and petroleum 99 year rental concessions to help pay for Argentine yuan denominated loan obligations. The population would still hover over 3,000 inhabitants...
Twenty or so of the original Falklander residents, about two hundred Argentine transplants, roughly a thousand Chinese contract laborers and three thousand Chinese military operating at their base in Puerto Panda...

@8. 'having a bunch of sheep is not an “industry”, you benny-hillbillies.'
A 2011 report estimated the number of sheep on the Islands as in excess of one million. Sheep produce wool, milk and meat (either lamb or mutton). Also sheepskin, lanolin, tallow and other products. That's pretty much an industry, lamb chop.

As for the rest of it, I'll let you know when my diet starts working. And you can let me know when you start growing a few brain cells. I might just be thin one day, but I think you're always going to be stupid.
