The myths surrounding Alexander Betts are beginning to unravel. He is the Falkland Islander who went to Argentina at the end of the 1982 Falklands war; adopted the Spanish version of his name, and portrayed himself as an honourable man who had carefully studied Falklands’ history and reached the conclusion that the Falklands belonged to Argentina. I notice that his wife doesn't mention a divorce. Is Betts a bigamist as well?
Let's see if I understood this correctly:
Jun 25th, 2015 - 01:00 pm - Link - Report abuse 0This guy emigrated in 1982 but votes last weekend for the first time. He abandoned his wife and kids to be with his lover. He lied about his background, and about the Falklands history for his own gain and purpose.
Wow. So he has the same sense of urgency and moral turpitude as the best of the Argentine leadership. I can see why they invited him to run for office. With those qualifications he will go far in Argentine politics.

The wrong candidate is standing for Argentine president-Betts is the perfect candidate.
With Betts away from the C24, which Falklands born spokesman have the Argentines got now?
British professor Peter Willetts accused him of lying and states that he has a letter written by Betts to the local press in 1978 in which Betts criticises the British Government for being soft on Argentina.
I hope Clarin get a copy and publish it. Then Betts might get a visit from Sr Nisman's last visitors.
Clarin has sent emails to Betts in order to talk to him about these matters, but he has not replied.
Lol.
According to the Telegraph, the FG representatives are circulating 'a brochure entitled “Facts and Fictions: 50 years of Argentine Falsehoods at the United Nations”'.

Doesn't seem to be online anywhere. Is Betts in it, by any chance?

Jun 25th, 2015 - 04:25 pm - Link - Report abuse 0He needs to be careful, he is only useful if his lies hold water. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets Nismaned at some point.

Jun 26th, 2015 - 12:09 pm - Link - Report abuse 0The last I saw in Clarin was that the odious hag that headed up the so called investigation confirmed he killed himself.
Given the gross contamination of the scene and the fact that much of the equipment used for the investigation (inc. the GSR apparatus) was defective / not calibrated / used by untrained people suggests we can really believe her, NOT.
As No 3 said, he is the Argentine equivalent of Lord Haw Haw - an English Nazi supporter who lived in Germany and was used by the Nazis to broadcast radio propaganda to Britain during WW2. He was captured and executed after the war.
