Bat-shit mad, the lot of them, if they think some 'Judge' in The Dark Country has ANY jurisdiction in the Falklands.

Keep sucking whatever you are sucking (TMBOA is supposed to be good at that) that is altering your minds from the reality of living in a cess-pit.

I do really hope TMBOA sends a 'warship' if they have any that can go to sea or even the Polish crap they are alleged to have chartered to 'take' a drill-rig off station!

    Glug-glug. Ha, ha, ha.

And where exactly does Wil E Timerman get the idea that it's the job of stock exchange regulators to enforce extra-territorial legal judgements. Have they all become the Man from UNCLE or something?

The shipwrecks in Stanley harbour no doubt help Falkland tourism -maybe a few more Argy ships sent to the bottom will persuade the FIG to invest in a submarine to take tourists to visit Argentine wrecks.

But how much shit, if instead the Argy ships are arrested, the crews flown home and NML come to the Islands to seize the ships unless Argyland pays up?

Either way Argentina will give us much entertainment at their expense.

I hope Argentina refect on the fact that the FALKLANDS are protected by “ the nuclear penguins ” Do you think Argie law has any jurisdiction in the USA or UK? I would be surprised if it did. Can you imagine the UK government passing a law that all Argenines in Argentina must drive on the left and trying to enforce it? What would their reaction be? PMSL

Hey Chris!! CHRIS!! Can you believe this s**t?

I don't know about you but I can just see Isolde, Islander1, Jo Bloggs et al all scratching their heads and then rolling about with uncontrollable laughter!!!

Who knew that defending the rights of 3,000 British citizens would provide such entertainment, right?

Can your licence fee do all this? Mine can't. But the bit that they take from my taxes for defense? That is the gift that just keeps on giving!!!

I can't wait, just CAN'T WAIT for the next chapter in this little saga....... I mean, I'm already sitting here beside myself right now..............

    @ 3, 4 & 5.

The real problem if TDC were to attack any British or other nations acting for Britain within Falkland waters is that they would be at risk of all sorts of seaborne lethal threats to them nevermind submarine threats.

One of the idiot trolls was attempting to take the piss out of the new 30mm gun being fitted to small / medium warships. OK, it's not a 4in or 6in weapon but it is nevertheless utterly and completely lethal to surface ships irrespective of armour qualities.

I cannot divulge actual specifications other than to say it is a 30mm Radon cannon which has been developed by BAE systems. The barrel is smooth, it fires a sabot fletchette dart which easily exceeds the Mach 3 of the HVM, it's range is 'adequate' shall I say but the effect of a strike is absolutely mind-bending.

The pressure wave travels 20mm or so from the pin point of the dart and destroys any armour as if it were tissue paper, it travels between bulkheads setting fire to EVERYTHING in the spaces and I mean everything. Fortunately human targets die immediately, they have no knowledge of what has 'hit' them. It then continues at hyper-velocity all the way through the width of the ship and exits with enough energy to kill another ship in the area.

Now, anybody with a brain want to risk taking this thing on? No, I didn't think so.

I think it is time for the UK to go to the ITJ to stop this madness, aggressive behavior and harassment from Argentina. The international law will stop it and will give the Islanders the right to decide about their future.

The islanders already have the right to decide. In fact they have decided. That bit is over. International law is on their side which is why Argentina avoids the ICJ at all costs.

There is a saying “never confuse movement with action”. It means that just because you are waving your arms around and jumping up and down doesn't mean you are doing anything useful. What Argentina has done in the last few years is to create a lot of hot air but none of it has been effective. You want negotiations, so why not speak to the islanders? You talk about International law being on your side so why not take your case to the ICJ? These are the only routes that could potentially lead to victory so why not give them a try. But of course Argentina won't do either because they would lose. So instead they just do random, angry things to give the impression that they are making progress. In fact the only vaguely useful thing Argentina attempted in recent years was to try and get the UN to deny the right to self-determination to people in a territory where there is a sovereignty dispute. Argentina lost. Timerman's visit to London? A disaster. Filmus, the new Museum, forcing people to sing Malvinist songs - all embarassing and pointless. But suing for damages for something done in someone else's country is a new kind of idiocy.

“Foreign minister Timerman told 'Tiempo Argentino' on Sunday that on Monday 29 June he will formally request that the stock exchange regulators in London and New York implement the judge's order.”

And when this ‘formal request’ comes to nothing it will leave Timerman and Argentina looking even more impotent than they look now. (If that is possible).

These negative behaviours from Argentina are the actions of losers; it would seem Argentina is permanently and firmly ensnared in the paradigm of victimhood. They think, talk and act like losers because that’s exactly what they are.

@14 when it does arrive via second class post, the response will be a standard template along the lines of “the companies you mention are all fully compliant with exchange regulations and therefore no further action is required. THE BIG QUESTION EVERYBODY IGNORES, based on my 20-year-long absolute immersion in Argentine society:

That there are extremely intelligent, normal, DECENT Argentines, WHY DO THEY PUT UP WITH THIS GOVERNMENT OF SMALL-TIME CALABRIAN AND SICILIAN GANGSTERS? . . . It is a mystery.

After all these years, I believe that the GOOD Argentines have some genetic flaw in common with the EVIL Argentines: a gene of weakness mixed with slyness.

Is it because Argentines see that their brothers who do have spines, and did stand up to EVIL Argentines, paid with their lives . . . assassinated by Fernández and her lot?

I believe that the answer to your question is that unfortunately we have had very little choice in the past because the peronists have created a basic bloc of voters who depend on them (the peronists) for their continued existence. This group of voters has been the deciding factor in 25 years of peronist supremacy and the consequent misgovernment that Argentina has suffered over a large part of the last 70 years.

We hope that the next government will not be peronist in any of it's various forms, but may be able to bring Argentina back to being a NORMAL member of the international community. This hope is not very bright, more like a candle flame on a misty night, but whilst it still glows there is some possibility of a return to sanity.

I believe that of the opposition candidates for the presidency, Ms Stolbitzer represents the conscience of political Argentina and Macri represents the sensible business and stability of Argentina. The ideal is if they could get together in stead of running on their own. Unfortunately I don't see that happening, so there is a very good chance that Scioli (a K sock puppet if ever there was one) will become our next president. If this does happen the future of this wonderful country is slightky north of bleak!!!!!!

Do all people in Argentina think the islands belong to Argentina? I have a friend who's neighbor is from there that says the islands are British.
    Has Argentina voted on this?

Argentina, you are of genius ....

I´m gonna enact a law saying that the UK´s soil belongs to me. Then I`ll sue the Brits for using the island without my permission. Profit$$$$
    ...
after all, isn´t that what Argentina is doing here?. I may even find a judge who´ll say I´m right.

Oh Dear ... will we ever stop acting as the retarded kid of the class?

So, Argentina just do some claims and the islanders get apoplectic...so all it's needed is keep doing more of the same and they'll end up finding a less stressful place to live and quit...it may be that easy!

Oh please. It's like getting a death threat from an angry chicken.

The status quo will persist because it's the most convenient outcome for everybody concerned - Brits, islanders, Peronists, hermanos lationos. The only exception are the Malvinista true believers whose job it is is to keep the charade alive.

I said it once and will say it again,

Argentina will do what it wants , when it wants , and to whom it wants,

    Until someone stops it,

CFK will continue to abuse , insult , intimidate , and generally make a noise at the UN and to anyone that will listen , until some one stops her,

no one is saying we should use violence, but to lose them through stupidity , or foreign office arrogance would humiliate us,

today the news has stated that 6 other countries will have there assets frozen, or stolen, let us see WHAT these six countries do , that Britain has failed to do,

When Argentina actually takes there goods, will they just sit there like Britain and laugh, or will they put metal to pedal and retaliates,

    let us wait and see.

    Watch this go bang....??

Just wondering how they are going to enforce this new law banning all oil companies in and around the Falkland Islands.
Argentine is so predictable they want what we have and as they know they cannot legally acquire it they use every old trick in the book. They are in the eyes of the world pathetic but good entertainment for readers. Argentina forgets an important issue in as much it does not own or ever will own our Islands. They were never theirs to begin with. Why even the French realised they did not own them and used an easy option to get out of a political issue by suggesting they could sell them to Spain and Spain being a typical greedy Spaniard thought that in time they could create a Latin American Country call it Argentines then lay claim to the Falkland Islands.
They forgot one basic rule and that was the people who live on these Islands. It is their home always has been since they settled here.
So my suggestion to all you Argy Bargee complainers forget this stupid idea that one day you will have us. It will never happen not even in a Million years.

“So, Argentina just do some claims and the islanders get apoplectic”

Latinos have no idea of British psychology-you think that we think like you lot!

If we did, we would have been flying white flags in 1982.

The more you threaten the islanders, the more stubborn they will get-from your point of view it makes your objectives further away than they were in 1982, not nearer.

Now that they are celebrating the 150 years anniversary of Welsh colonisation of Patagonia, and considering that Wales is a part of the United Kingdom, the UK should declare Patagonia a part of the Uk as well.

According to Argentine logic, the territory is then diaputed and some justice of peace in the UK can order the seizure of all Argentine assets in the Commonwealth (and Greenland? :) )
