Rousseff, ever so weakened and isolated warns of “anti democratic adventures”
Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff told regional peers on Friday there is no room for “anti-democratic adventures” in South America, a day after the speaker of Brazil's lower house said he was weighing legal arguments for her impeachment. Speaking to the heads of state of Mercosur, Rousseff said political leaders should strive for dialogue to resolve ideological differences. Read full article

While Terence does indeed sound 'careful and thoughtful', he hides behind quick research to pretend to know more than those who have experienced things first-hand....It's like a celibate priest telling a married couple how to poke.
Also, judgement is not based on only one post - he always defends those politicians who are notoriously corrupt, with all this talk about proving one's accusation....in this case, accusations are simply opinions based on public (and not-so-public) knowledge....which don't need to be proved, and that I have the right to express.

I believe Lula is a criminal... since 2005 there have been several corruption scandals, and it is near impossible to not link Lula to them. His phrase “ Eu não sei de nada” is no defense, as neither is Dilma's about Petrobras. She was President of the Board of Directors of PB, and Minister of Mines & Energy while all this went on, and she too, alleges total ignorance of the facts ? and you simply accept it ? Look at Paulo Maluf...loads of corruption money found in foreign bank accounts, in his name, and he denies it's his. Proof galore and yet no condemnation.

Jul 24th, 2015 - 11:35 pm - Link - Report abuse 0I don't, for a second, believe either Cunha , or Renan Calheiros for that matter, are innocent of the 'crimes' they are being investigated for.....very few politicians in this country can claim they are clean, and be telling the truth. The fact is that the impeachment rumours were already circulating well before Cunha's name was mentioned with regards to taking a US$ 5 million bribe from Julio Camargo, an accusation later confirmed by Youseff .
As to the probability of Cunha and Calheiros losing the fight against Dilma, I agree it's pretty high, but only on account of the fact that Dilma has the government behind her, ready to use any strongarm tactics that they feel are needed to protect her....even if she too, is just as guilty of malfeasance.
