As a day of great celebration, Argentine ambassador in the UK, Alicia Castro described the festivities for the 150th anniversary of Welsh settlers arrival to Patagonia, taking place in Chubut with the attendance of Wales First Minister Carwyn Jones, Argentine cabinet ministers and members of the Welsh-Argentine community. 6 THINK
Jul 28th, 2015 - 05:32 pm - Link - Report abuse 0You're way off topic - this is about the Argentine descendants of the Welsh who settled in Patagonia, before the Argentines arrived.
The UK has nothing to do with it.
Well they have certainly sand-bagged the Wales First Minister Carwyn Jones!
Jul 28th, 2015 - 07:27 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Having had a family property in Fairbourne, near to Barmouth, I knew the majority of Welsh as stupid sods to say the least but this idiot has to take the biscuit.
No wonder the Welsh with half-a-brain live in South Wales.
You may well laugh,
Jul 28th, 2015 - 08:07 pm - Link - Report abuse 0but if the British government don't stop this crap, then the Argentina government may well be invited to London to address the British people, show her around parliament, visit the queen, or move the argentine government from Argentina to London in the summer,
the biggest danger to the Falkland's is not the argies, its the politicians,
and British politicians at that..
then who will be laughing.
just my opinion.
”the opportunities that our country extends to the British and the descendents of British people“.
Jul 28th, 2015 - 08:09 pm - Link - Report abuse 0So are these Welsh Argentines wealthier than the Falkland Islanders per capita?
What opportunities would be these?
The Welsh Argies can't rule themselves.
She also mentioned that going to university in the UK is very expensive: at least £10.000 while in Argentina it was free and in Chubut province students don't pay bus fares.
Even some Unis in the UK have free bus services for students, and as Falkland Islanders don't pay (FIG do), going to University in the UK is a better bet.
A subtle and very bad attempt at hearts and minds? Could she be Korned Beef Kate..?.Ingleeesh soldiers, it is pointless sailing to the Malvinas, turn round now to avoid being butchered by our Super Gauchos...............
Paulie- way off topic but agree he is a swine - and I can assure he will not last long as a member of the House of Lords - he will either resign shortly - or be forced to and thrown out where he deserves - actually he is nothing to do with Cameron you numpty- he is(was) a LABOUR Lord! Labour Party has already sacked him.
Jul 29th, 2015 - 12:43 am - Link - Report abuse 0You of course never have a politician in Argentina who puts a foot wrong??
By the way the Welsh First Minster was interviewed on Falklands Radio News
before he travelled to Chubut and was asked- If T=the Arg Govt raise the Falklands question with you - what will you say?
His clear answer:
I will tell them that the future of the Falklands is entirely for the people of the islands to decide- that is what I have believed for a long time and continue to believe.
”As a country it is a fantastic example that we have no hostility at all against the British because the Welsh live in Patagonia as brothers”.
