I truly hope that the Olympics are a success for Brazil. Sport is a great way for different nations to connect. However, as is sometimes the case, it will be down to the wire for much of the infrastructure.

As for Rousseff's words, they are jarring (“...we have welcomed different peoples and cultures with hospitality and happiness”) when placed against the hatred espoused by Brasileiro... just goes to prove that he isn't a reflection of many Brazilians.

Only one issue, “Rio de Janeiro -- doubtlessly the most beautiful natural landscape for the Olympic Games since ancient Greece”

I am not a Sydney-sider but I'd have to say that this claim is easily disputed by the 2000 Olympics.

    Does anyone believe Dilma anymore?

She has covered up a lot in this speech.
    Interesting article here.

Looks like one man could make $1 billion.
    And it ain't Brasileiro!
    Not quite his socialist paradise.

Barra says he will sell off the Olympic Village to create a city for the 'elite'.
Not sure how that supports the PT philosophy?

I do not hate anyone. Do you have ever heard of reciprocity? When an North-American maniac come on this forum and say that everything is bad in South America, I use reciprocity. When an English maniac comes here and says that he will play atomic bombs in our America, I use reciprocity.

No. I know Sidney and it really is a very beautiful city. But in terms of beauty the Rio de Janeiro is unsurpassed.

Reciprocity is just code for being easily influenced by others. I much prefer to stick by my principles and own ideals.

Anyway your English has improved markedly so I hope you keep posting for as long as possible until you are replaced by the other guy(s).

In the latter part of 2016, Brazil will be indicted with various crimes. Premeditated murder, premeditated manslaughter, deliberate contagion and infection, biological warfare, war crimes and fraud.

Brazil will, of course, have all its “athletes” disqualified and be required to pay billions in healthcare, hospital bills, funeral costs, compensation and so forth.
Didn't anyone figure that Brazil is polluted and a clear and present danger to human health?

What a bunch of Big Babies your 'murderous' gang are. What is your average age? I'd guess around 11.

I really do hope that the Olympics will be a success but feel the reality will be a disaster, especially for the open water (or should we be more accurate and say sewer) events?

You do not hate anyone ? that's news....you have repeatedly said you hate all 'westerns', all 'foreigners'.........as to reciprocity, I'm sure you know all about it.....just keep on bending over and getting 6 inches of it.

As to the beauty of Rio, it is only skin-deep, or should I say , about 1 km deep from the beaches. Beyond that, it is mostly smelly 'favelas' and places no-one would go if they had the choice.

This Brasileiro can't remember what the other Brasileiro wrote.

The English of this Brasileiro is of a much higher standard and he doesn't talk about BRICS as much and doesn't post Youtube clips..... has anyone ever clicked them? What are they?

@12 They told us 'they' are a gang of likeminded Brazilians that meet to denigrate Western societies. Bunch of twits.

    I don't click links.

I was merely transcribing what the brASSHOLE posted to 'you'.....read his #3 again :
    ”“@ Skip
I do not hate anyone. Do you have ever heard of reciprocity? ”

Brazzo's words, not mine ; and I was replying to the brASSHOLE, not you.....
So why all the gratuitious animosity ??
