A Brazilian judge sentenced Nestor Cervero, former international chief of state-run oil firm Petrobras, to just over 12 years in prison on Monday for corruption and money laundering related to a bribe allegedly paid to the speaker of Brazil's lower house of Congress. Read full article

Ha, ha, ha, ha.
You think with all the $ he stole he would fix his fkn eye!
Aug 18th, 2015 - 01:46 pm - Link - Report abuse 0If I were Brazil, I'd turn over everything they had to the FBI and let them indict Lula and Dilma.

With that chameleon type eye you think he would have seen it coming!!!
Aug 18th, 2015 - 02:56 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Corruption exists just about everywhere, and Latin America has always been bad. But, it does seem like the country that seems to have eliminated more corruption than most of the others, Chile (Uruguay being the exception), also has been doing better economically. Of course not everything is perfect in Chile and there is still corruption, but overall their reduction of corruption over the last several years relative to their economic growth is interesting. You'd think Brazil, Argentina, etc. would look to them as an example.

Aug 18th, 2015 - 10:27 pm - Link - Report abuse 0I honestly never thought it possible that someone could be as f*cking stupid, and ignorant, until the appearance of the brasshole. I knew there were plenty of crazies out there, but had never had the displeasure of interacting with one, even if only over the internet. I don't know whether I should believe that he is paid by the PT to post so much crap, or whether he really believes it....but either way, to actually allow himself to be perceived as a complete moron, he's got to be mentally retarded.

Aug 19th, 2015 - 12:25 am - Link - Report abuse 0Brasiliero has admitted there more than one operator for the persona.
I really suspect BRASSO is a paid group of posters created by PT to spread propaganda and disinformation, whilst disrupting real debate.
I wonder how many Reals, is the price of Integrity... ?
At least two witnesses have given sworn testimony against Cunha now. He may be in serious risk of indictment.
Aug 19th, 2015 - 03:24 am - Link - Report abuse 0But, in any case, impeachment proceedings through him are dead in the water. Very few in congress trust him.
@ Hepatitus
Aug 19th, 2015 - 12:49 pm - Link - Report abuse 0So you live in Brazil now? Or is it still the US? Or are you in a mental institution somewhere given the abject nonsense that you post?
I think it's the latter.
@13 Hippy
Aug 19th, 2015 - 03:20 pm - Link - Report abuse 0You have never had much credibility. The only 'apparent' difference between you and the brasshole , is that you do not seem to be a radical, but you are almost as stupid. Like the brasshole, you post silly remarks, based on absolutely nothing but what your small brain invents. Why don't you just get lost ?
@14 ChrisR
No idea where Hippy lives, but one thing for sure, everything 'it' posts about Brazil , is from unverifiable sources. Sure Cunha's name has been mentioned by one of the Lava-Jato whistle-blowers as having received a bribe of US$ 5 million, but he has not been indicted, nor do I think he will be. I may be wrong, but I don't really care if I am....while I'm quite prepared to believe he actually did receive bribes - I'd like to know which politician within the PT and its allies hasn't - the distance between the fact that his name has been mentioned , and being indicted, is pretty big. If Cunha can be indicted for what he is being accused of, then there is hope that the 9-fingered toad will be indicted and imprisoned very soon, that is, if he doesn't die first, which would be a gift to Brazil.
TALKING ABOUT OIL...IT SEEMS THE 4TH CLASS NEWSPAPER DOES NOT BREAK THE BALLS ANYMORE WITH THOSE CESSPITS YOU HAVE IN THE ISLETS, EH??
Aug 19th, 2015 - 05:30 pm - Link - Report abuse 0WHAT DID YOU EXPECT WHEN THE OIL PRICE SINKS BELOW U$S 40??
AS I HAVE WISELY, WISELY SAID, THOSE CESSPITS YOU HAVE THERE ARE TOTALLY U-N-V-I-A-B-L-E.
@16. Clever cow, aren't you? Here's a thought for you to mull over in your pee-brain. The oil, and the gas, is quite safe where it is. Anything argie that gets close will most likely get sunk. The Falkland Islands is self-sufficient without the oil or gas. Nothing argie tossers do has any effect.
Aug 19th, 2015 - 07:35 pm - Link - Report abuse 0The Falklands can wait. Kirchner can't. But she's going to lose. December 10th, 2015 and the Islands will still be British. The same goes for 2019, 2023, 2027, 2031, 2035, 2039.... Well, you get the idea. It's worth remembering that, barring an incredible circumstance, argieland will be destroyed first. Every day, there are more Astute class nuclear-powered submarines capable of dropping cruise missiles anywhere. HMS Queen Elizabeth aircraft carrier will be deployable in 2017. If it's required it can be deployed with, amongst others, Apache attack helicopters. The Apache can engage fast jets. HMS Prince of Wales will be deployable by 2020. Meanwhile, argieland has NOTHING. But it's committed to PEACE, isn't it? Do you understand PEACE? Best described as PEACE and QUIET. So shut your face before we decide to test a few missiles.
O Globo is reporting now that Cunha is to be indited.

Aug 20th, 2015 - 09:25 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Right. Today, the top Federal Prosecutor, Ricardo Janot has finally presented his request to the Supreme Court to indict E. Cunha....not yesterday, or the day before........The Supreme Court will now have to decide whether they accept the indictment or not.
While I am in favour of all corrupt politicians being put behind bars, I am not sure if the Court will indict him.....the reason for thinking this is that Cunha , if indicted, can make life very unpleasant for a lot of other high-ranking members within the PMDB , as well as the PT.....and considering that the Supreme Court is infested with Justices who favour the PT, they might be willing to arrange some dirty deal behind the scenes - such as accepting his resignation from the presidency of the Lower House in exchange for dropping the charges - in order to avoid compromising Dilma even further.
Quite frankly, I hope the charges stick and that he decides to drag down half the government, as well as the PT, with him....But let's see how it plays out....
