Pope Francis on Tuesday afternoon touched down at Joint Base Andrews to begin a historic six-day, three-city visit that will have political, diplomatic and spiritual ramifications. Breaking from the usual protocol for a state visit, President Obama and Vice President Biden chose to greet the papal plane before Francis departed in a hatchback Fiat to begin his tightly scheduled, carefully choreographed and highly anticipated visit. Disclaimer & comment rulesBy 2060 its reckoned that the US will be 29% Latino. This Pope is such a disappointment. John Paul was the catylist that brought down evil communism, this one tolerates a rottern gang of evil dictators crooks and con merchants practicing communism under other banners.

Pope Francisco's gesture of using a Fiat 500 to move around is sending a powerful message to wasteful North American society--bigger is not better--in tune with his encyclical Laudato Si and his recent speech in support of the environment and Obama's emissions regulations initiative.
Sep 23rd, 2015 - 04:27 pm - Link - Report abuse 0If John Paul was the catylist that brought down evil communism, as The Voice laments @ #1, Francisco is making history by speaking for the victims of greedy capitalism (including the planet) and by working for mutual understanding--as he did for Cuba and the U.S.
Reekie, what are your wheels then, do tell us? Bet you drive a gas guzzler powered by tar sands!
Sep 23rd, 2015 - 06:18 pm - Link - Report abuse 0And, how is it that all the nations that practice communism, Peronism and Kirchnerism are so dirt poor? The only course open to those wanting a decent life is to leave and live in the Commonwealth or USA, like you… .hypocrite. When are you going back to move your country forward?

Look, The Voice: I suggest you tell Mercopress that an Argentine who lives in Alberta, Canada, is commenting in this board and how he dares, he has no right, he should go back to where he came from, etc. Tell them that in the meantime he should at least be banned from commenting.
And see what answer they give you.

Reekie, we would take you more seriously if you actually lived in the place you worship. But you dont.. Hypocrite. You are welcome to join the debate it gives us something more to laugh at. Do you want Argentina to be more like Canada, or do you hate Canada and the other successful non communist/ Peronist countries like so many of your countrymen?
Sep 23rd, 2015 - 10:26 pm - Link - Report abuse 0And..what contribution can the Pope make? He is just parroting what Prince Charles has said for years? Whats new? Control the planets climate means controlling the planets population..something Catholics oppose. Therefore all Catholics oppose pollution and climate change! You are all a danger to the planet! Conquerer will be along in a minute to suggest a lasting solution :-)
Tell us about your gas guzzler cmon..
The pope is attempting to control the population in Africa.

Come on. You know this isn't true. It's the idea you don't like, period. You are irremediably at short of arguments and thought this would be a smart way of responding. Guess what? It's not! You just appear as a fool.
Also, Argentina is not a place I worship. It simply is a country where a very special political process is taking place, countering received wisdom--In addition, it happens to be my home country.
Therefore, I will submit my opinion and keep reading with interest other people's comments, including those by people who profess to know about Argentina--without ever setting foot there. (Haven't seen you criticizing that).
Of course, if you feel unable to submit valid arguments you are free to keep ranting about my place of residence.
