UN condemns 191-2, US embargo on Cuba, despite restored relations

United States on Tuesday voted against a U.N. resolution condemning its embargo on Cuba, even though President Barack Obama has called on Congress to lift the trade restrictions. The vote was the first since the U.S. and Cuban leaders agreed to restore diplomatic ties last December, and the U.S. had considered taking the unprecedented step of abstaining. Read full article

    This turn out is not new. Where have you been? This is like the 23rd consecutive year in a row of UNGA votes like this, are you like 10 years old?

    Seldom do I agree with this administration but they are correct. Under a Cuban rock?

    Obama is working to bring them nearer to actual relationships and the Castro's pull a stunt like this? They must in fact not want the embargo lifted. Afterall, they are much richer with it and unchecked power as they know lifting it is the impetus to the fall of Cuban communism.
