    Any new government taking power in argentina will instead of seeing a pile of cash in the central bank will see a pile of IOU`s signed by Christina to the value of 27 billion dollars.

    Damn, you beat me to it!

    It makes me wonder WHY the Kirchner Club want to be in power with things as they are?

    @2 I don't think they wanted to be in the front line - Scioli can take the direct fire - but they don't want to be cast out to a place where they can be prosecuted. I think they expected to sweep in, meddle a bit and then when the shit hits the fan, CFK to waltz back in as the saviour.

    @3 My thoughts exactly
    Their plan is starting to unravel as the K's are fighting among-st themselves and Scioli.
    Macri and Massa are sitting back with a bowl full of popcorn watching the show.
    Couldn't happen to a worse bunch of people.

    @4. Don't the K's “plans” always unravel? I've finally figured out Kirchner's “new economic model”. It has more than one name. One alternative is “fantasy”. Another is “wish fulfilment”. Yet another is called “crawl to China”.
    @3. I'm not sure that I follow your reasoning. I was okay with the sweeping, the meddling and the shit. Not so sure about Kirchner and waltzing. Wouldn't she have to wait until 2019? And now that we know that only 35% of argies are brainless dolts, might not 4 years of reasonable government be enough to persuade the dolts that Kirchner should be shot?

    These controls are wise. CFK knows well that there is nothing that the real powers in Argentina love more than launching concerted speculative maneuvers with the dollar to prevent a government's orderly transition.
    When everybody is going down a road, these astute financiers are already well on their way back.
    Of course, these velvet glove criminals are of no concern to posters such as Conqueror, who is intent on shooting kirchnerists only.

    Econ-ignorance such as displayed by Massot is hard to come by these days. Had this clown had any integrity he would've joined the immaculate nations of Cuba or Venezuela. Rather, he has become a “champagne socialist” leeching off an advanced nation. Thank God, his numbers are dwindling, even in Argentina.

    @3 Elaine,

    Precisely.

    @10 ilsen
    Just got back from Cuba this week.

    Two men were chatting in the bar ( not a joke ) between themselves, and trying to impress a young woman in her 30's sitting at the end.

    The loudly boasted of their travels to exotic LATAM places, and how they thought they might travel through Venezuela en route to elsewhere ...

    She told them very directly that the situation was very desperate for the people of Venzla - that they were a pair of naive fools who would get themselves robbed of all their possessions and likely be killed for their necklaces and jewellery they were wearing.

    Thoroughly unimpressed with the buffoons, she left.
